They have a great ministry influence here, which includes "family dinner" on Thursday nights for all who are seeking to find community and deepen their faith. They also host lots of community events, which is how I have gotten to know this place. I go to a free weekly yoga class on Saturdays, and have attended a few different networking events and fundraising galas in the large event space. The staff here is really down to earth and accommodating, and the kids are always having fun. Great work being done here.

As middle Tennessee's only volunteer center, HON serves as the volunteer staffing organization for so many charities who need the help. Every September, thousands of HON volunteers descend on Metro Nashville Schools to pour hundreds of thousands of dollar's worth of time into doing much needed maintenance to the system facilities. In the horrific flood of 2010, HON stepped up as the hero organization, providing relief in almost every facet. Full disclosure, I am on the board. I serve on the board because I believe it in so much. HON is financially sound and run like a well-oiled machine by its staff and executive team. Since hiring them over a year ago, my account has been handed off to more than 14 different people, and my taxes are still not complete. The constant turnover has resulted in poor communication, repeated requests for the same information, and a complete lack of accountability. They would often take weeks to respond, and every delay came with another excuse about missing documentation, even though I had already provided the requested documents multiple times. I repeatedly asked for a phone call, and it took nearly three weeks just to receive a response to that request. When I finally requested a refund, it was because my taxes had become late due to their failure to complete the work or even file an extension on my behalf. As a result, I am now facing thousands of dollars in penalties and back taxes. What makes this even more frustrating is that this is a nonprofit that I personally fund out of my own pocket to rescue and care for horses in need. Instead of receiving the professional service I paid for, I have been left dealing with financial consequences caused entirely by their delays and lack of follow-through. This experience has been incredibly frustrating, unprofessional, and financially damaging. I cannot recommend this company to anyone.
