Initial impression of the clinic was inviting, clean and new. Right off the bat, the staff was welcoming and caring. They knew who we were when we walked in the door. The waiting area is very clean and organized. There are two separate waiting areas. One for the kids with an X-Box and an area for the adults. We've always shied away from going to the orthodontist since we feel like dentists and orthodontists are in cahoots and cycle people through like a factory. This ortho doesn't feel that way. We left feeling very comfortable and informed. They are very personable and feel like family. The payment plan made things palatable. We don't feel overwhelmed at the cost of everything. All in all, this was a pretty pleasurable experience, as doctor visits can go. read more

During the braces process, everything went okay. Treatment did take longer than expected, but that's perfectly okay as long as my teeth were straight and my bite was corrected. However after getting my braces off, and they got their money, their after braces care is extremely lacking. About a year after I got my braces off, and wore my retainers according to her instructions, it appeared that my teeth started to shift. I called and asked if they could take a look at my retainers to ensure that they were still fitting properly. They agreed to take a look, but then proceeded to make me sign additional forms releasing their liability. Clearly, they want nothing to deal with one after getting their braces off and are only after the money. I have friends whose orthodontist requires them to make an appointment yearly to ensure that their retainers are still fitting properly post braces free of charge. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

At the time my sons received treatment from Dr. Liu, she was not a board certified orthodontist. I did not realize this when we started treatment and when I asked her about it during treatment she rationalized not becoming board certified because it takes too much time. She completed treatment on both boys, and one of them needs a whole additional set of braces because she did not account for the angle of the front teeth or their size when completing his treatment. This is nearly $6,000 of additional treatment required so he can shut his jaw and get the molars to meet. His bite has not changed since she took off the braces she did, and in her words, "It is good enough" turns out not to be true. He has continually used the night retainers to prevent breaking his teeth in his sleep. He is in danger of breaking or loosing front teeth because of the way she left his bite. Also the office staff was in constant turmoil and people were quitting and being fired, so it was very hard to find a technician to work with them who could recall what was going on with their treatment plans. My second son ended up with permanent tooth damage because they did not let him know the braces were setting up a situation to erode the enamel. When the braces came off the damage became visible. It just seems outrageous that there is no oversight of orthodontists to keep this kind of unethical, incomplete treatment from happening. I don't think we have any legal recourse to recover money from his treatment with her to cover the treatment needed to correct what she did. read more

Dr. Liu has been my orthodontist for about 5 months now and I am so glad I visited her office to receive my treatment!! She is extremely friendly and always happy to answer my questions and concerns. Not to mention, the entire staff there is so sweet and gentle with my teeth. They call me in exactly at my appointment time so I've never had to wait. Dr. Sue-Chin Liu is wonderful! Actually everyone in the office is great! Upfront and honest, not just trying to put braces on everyone!! My daughter was very nervous at first but the friendly atmosphere and the techs melted her fears away. Now she races me up the stairs, checks herself in and can't wait to get her new colors in her mouth (she's 9). A couple times her wires had come out and they were able to get her in right away. They have an Xbox in the waiting area for the kids as well as a Kurig for the adults while you wait. We were able to set up a payment plan because face it-braces aren't cheap and I didn't have to break the bank! If you are looking for an orthodontist go to Bethany Orthodontics!! read more

We have had good luck here but have had most of our visits at the Lake Oswego office due to convenience of that office for us. I have had no problems with long wait times or with communication. The only issue for us is with scheduling appointments at good times for us, but really even that is no big deal. Overall very satisfied. read more

Happy with the orthodontic care. Not happy with the office policy of charging $20 for less than a one day notice for not being able to make an appointment. It's a problem if the appointmen is on the first day after a holiday or weekend. Recommend not making an appointment on a Monday or day after a holiday. Better yet, find an ortho who does not have this type of office policy for the first offense. Life does get in the way of the monthly ortho appointments. It's just the environment of an orhtodontist. Those of us in private industry adjust to our industry's quirks and don't penalize our customers. read more

This place was fine and did a decent job during the process of having braces. It did take about 6 months over their estimated time but I had expected them to take longer. Overall care was decent. After removing the braces and after they got all their money their care decreased dramatically. I came in a month or two later for the check in to see how the retainers were fitting and I was left waiting for 40 minutes past my appointment time. I had to talk to the receptionist twice asking how much longer it would take because I had a lot of things I had to get done later in the afternoon. Finally right before I was just about to leave they called me back. Once back there they only took two minutes to just look at the retainers. After that appointment I was just completely angry and disappointed in their service. read more

Came here after the WONDERFUL ortho we used before retired. They get the job done, but if it weren't a convenient location, I would have much preferred another office. They assistants seem decent, but we've gotten very little info from the Dr. about the course of treatment, expected duration and progress. There seems to be a bit of a language barrier. My biggest gripe is scheduling... if your appointment requires more than a quick adjustment, they force you to fill morning slots and won't allow you to come in the afternoon. Even though my daughter gets out of school at 1:30, we're forced to pull her out of class for appointments. read more
