We were incredibly picky when it came to photographers. We met with several before landing on Matt. We really liked the photojournalistic style, but not the price that came along with photojournalists. Matt was the best of both worlds. His portfolio had some really great candid photos that caught our attention. He was also one of the very few, if not the only wedding photographer we met with, that was flexible on custom tailoring a package to suit our particular wants and needs. Compared to other photographers with the same level of talent, Matthew has got to be the most reasonably priced that there is. The turnaround time to get our photos after the wedding was also incredible. We got a sneak preview of 30+ photos just 3 days after the wedding. Beyond that, the full 1,000 photos from the wedding were edited and available for viewing not more than a week after the wedding day. I wouldn't expect this to be the norm, because we were anticipating more like a 3 - 4 week turnaround, but we were definitely pleasantly surprised. We really wanted to make sure that all aspects of our wedding were captured, so we opted to add a second photographer to our package. The second photographer that Matt brought along, Sabrina, was also really great to work with. The best part about working with Matt was his energetic, infectious attitude. In our meetings before the wedding when chatting about the places we wanted to take photos and the styles we had in mind, he was very peppy and positive. He offered up suggestions when we needed them and noted our preferences when we had specific requests. This upbeat attitude continued throughout the full 8 hours plus that he was with us on our wedding day. He not only worked really well with the pre-planned elements, but also saw opportunities along the way for on the fly photo opps which were some of the funnest shots in the bunch. I cannot recommend Matthew DeBoer Photography enough.

I recently had a newborn session with Julie for my 2 week old baby girl. Julie was just amazing!…read more She was so gentle with the baby and knew exactly what to do to get some incredibly adorable pictures. I was so nervous going into it that our baby girl was going to cry through the whole session, but Julie truly has a magic touch and was able to get her to sleep immediately, and keep her asleep the entire time we were there. Julie has a variety of props and wraps that she uses throughout the session, so all you have to bring is your baby, and she takes it from there (but she is also open to ideas from her clients and is absolutely willing to work with your preferences or any specific ideas that you might have). She did a variety of poses with the baby, using several different wraps/props/positionings. I was so excited to see the finished products, and was not disappointed when she sent over the finished photo gallery a couple of weeks later. All of the pictures were beyond adorable and beautifully presented. To be honest, I originally chose Julie solely due to her being at a more reasonable price point than some of the other newborn photographers that I had researched. So I was beyond thrilled to find that her professionalism, experience, and quality of work far surpassed the amount that she charged, in my opinion. I will definitely be using her again for any of my future photo sessions! She was just wonderful!
