Today I had my first appointment with Bethany. I have recently decided to embrace my curly hair and started my curly hair journey. Over the past couple months I have learned much (online) about the DevaCurl products and the Curly Girl Hair Method and was implementing the products and methods with only mediocre results. I decided to find a local curly hair specialist and found Bethany's website. On the phone, Bethany was very professional and helped me figure out what services I needed. During my appointment she was very professional, personable, and knowledgeable. I am oh so happy with my cut, pintura highlights, and curls! She taught me about my hair and how to use the products and methods for more curl and less frizz. She is very passionate about her career and clients and has accommodations for all needs including a private suite. I am floored to finally have someone who can help me understand my curly hair. I had a quick hair trim done here when I could not get into my usual place. It was just okay, but…read morethe price was very low. The haircut surely looked better in the mirror and it was a lot unrulier once I had to style it at home. I think the hairdresser took too much off my hair. I warned them to not over trim and that my hair is thick and wavy, but the hairdresser didn't really listen. The salon looks nice and looked to be more high class than I would have believed. It was bright and clean and looked attractive. The girl at the desk was very nice. I am not sure I would go back, but maybe if I can not get an appointment, they might do as a cheaper choice. I would specifically request a hairdresser with talent in taming thick, wavy hair, which is what I didn't do and should have.
