I would recommend this salon to anyone! I have been working with Sara since 2018, which was when my previous stylist botched my balayage. She brought me back to beautifully blended color and I've been hooked ever since. She did my wedding hair in 2020 (the color) and it was everything I could have wanted to make my photos spectacular. She does such a phenomenal job at blending that, even when my hair is 5 months post-appointment (I know, terrible), I STILL get compliments on the color and questions about where I go. Not only is she incredible at her job, but she is also so sweet and easy to talk to. I would (and do) recommend her to anyone! I have also worked with a couple other employees. Chloe did my updo for my wedding -it was absolutely beautiful and stayed in place all night without feeling stiff. I have also had some waxing done here and those employees were exceedingly professional while still prioritizing comfort. The salon is beautiful. The atmosphere is fun, cozy, and welcoming while still feeling high-end. The front desk staff have always been friendly and accommodating. Every time I visit, someone offers to take my coat or pour me a (complimentary!) drink. The mood among the stylists always seems fun and collaborative. Many of them are friends outside of work, and these relationships make their banter pretty entertaining. It never feels like there is any drama between co-workers, which is something that I have experienced at several other salons in the past. I've been a loyal client of Angie's for 2 years, driving an hour and a half every appointment, always tipping generously, and never giving her an ounce of trouble. In the past couple of months, I had to reschedule a couple times because of a major career change that has turned my life upside down -- and instead of understanding, I suddenly got a cold text message saying she could no longer do my hair. No conversation, no professionalism, no care. What makes this even worse is that she left me with extensions in my hair that other stylists refuse to touch. I reached out multiple times for help and was met with complete silence. No responses, no solutions -- just ignored. To leave a loyal client in that position is beyond unprofessional, it's cruel. Then I overheard her gossiping about me to another client -- saying mean, vulgar things after two years of loyalty. That is disgusting behavior for a stylist. Your clients are supposed to trust you, not be humiliated by you. Even when I once told her my hair was falling out, instead of showing concern or giving me advice, her response was: "Well, do you want a color instead?" That moment showed me everything I needed to know -- she does not care about her clients or their hair health. She only cares about squeezing money out of them. After two years of driving hours, tipping well, being kind, and loyal -- I was discarded, disrespected, and talked about behind my back. I reached out to Refinery hair after seeing them numerous times. I requested a hair consult I had one scheduled. The day off my appointment the stylist reached out asking if I could come in early or do a virtual appointment. I chose to do virtual. Consult went great. Stylist booked my appointment. A few days before appointment stylist reached out after she realized she scheduled me on a holiday. I gave her my schedule w my days off for the next month. Stylist could not fit me in. I reached out to salon w my dates available for the next month asking if anyone else was available. Salon said they would check And nobody got back with me. Quoted me a starting price of $250 which I was gladly willing to pay. I guess they don't need any new clients or more business. read more

This salon is definitely worth checking out. Everything about thi Salon is top notch. My hair never looked better and the prices are so reasonable. Excellent salon. It's hard to get an appointment with my stylist, but he's the owner, so that's to be expected. The location is close, prices are not bad and the service is high quality. There isn't much or to like about it. The location is more convenient for me than the previous location and the quality of service remains first rate. I've been getting my hair cut here ever since they opened a couple of months ago and haven't had an issue. My hair looks good and the price is right. read more

Such a super nice, trendy new salon! My hair stylist left his old salon, where he's been for a few years, and decided to embark on a new adventure by opening a new salon of his own in downtown Flint quite recently. Suffice it to say, it was a surprise, though a very pleasant one!!!! While I sad to have him leave his old salon behind, this new spot is amazing and I'm very impressed. He even grabbed a few stylists and assistants (including his own) from the old place and brought them with him to the new salon! It was nice to see Dan, Katie and a couple of other familiar faces at this posh new location! First things first, the salon looked amazing, located in a nicely renovated old building downtown. The location is convenient, parking is ample, the building is impressive, spacious and decidedly chic. I loved it. The ambiance was so relaxing. The receptionist was friendly, she offered me a flavored a coffee the moment I walked through the door. The calming scent of candles and aromatic diffusers wafted through the air as I flipped through coffee table books nearby. The retail display area was nice, not overwhelming, but stocked with all the best salon quality hair styling and beauty products. My husband and I were both impressed. The quality of services was as excellent as it had been before and the pricing was the same (I expected the prices to be slightly elevated, but they weren't and I think my husband's haircut was a few dollars less than before), plus the other services (eyebrow threading, waxing, facials, etc) appeared reasonably priced. Went to get my hair color corrected from brown to blonde. My hair ended up being blue/gray. Hair stylist also got blue all over blazer and just said sorry without offering to reimburse me. Told hair stylist i wanted beige blonde. Hair stylist gave me CPR to take home and do myself without any expression of fixing hair. Reached out THREE days in a row to have hair fixed and resolve situation. Manager out of office two days and then left a voicemail saying she wasnt available until the next day without any clarity on how to resolve situation. Sent clear photos and expression in a kind way. Third day asked for owner to return my call and still havent heard as of today. CLEAR LACK OF FOLLOW THROUGH with hair concerns. I was just asking for a way to resolve situation and have HAD NO CLARITY. read more
