Look... I travel for work. For the last 12 years I've probably spent more nights in Hilton beds…read morethan my own, so when I say DoubleTree carries an expectation, I mean it. Let's start with the good -- because there's a lot of it. The location is fantastic. The marina is peaceful, quiet, and within walking distance of plenty of food and entertainment options. After a long day of travel, it's honestly the perfect place to decompress. The marina-view rooms are absolutely worth the upgrade, and if you manage to score one with a patio, consider yourself lucky. Those rooms are rare for a reason. The restaurant staff consistently deliver the level of hospitality Hilton is known for. Even with the somewhat limited menu, the service and food quality have never disappointed me. Now for the harder part. The elevators feel like a social experiment designed to test human patience. The buttons don't always light up, so when someone asks for the third floor and you push it, they stare at you like you just tried to launch the building into orbit... only to realize the button actually worked. Awkward. Then there's the dramatic pause when you arrive at your floor and wait what feels like five business days for the doors to open. The rooms desperately need updating. Peeling wallpaper, aging interiors, and carpet that looks like it's survived several economic recessions. I noticed sample carpet and a few newer fixtures during this stay, so hopefully renovations are finally happening -- and hopefully they extend beyond the current 20 feet installed in the hallway. Also, the flashing light outside my room at 2am felt less "Hilton" and more "low-budget psychological thriller." The biggest disappointment is consistency in staff attitude. Most of the team are excellent and embody Hilton-level hospitality. But there are a few who feel more "institutionally comfortable" than customer-focused, and unfortunately that energy spreads quickly in hospitality environments. A fake cheerful voice paired with a visible scowl doesn't quite land the way management probably hopes it does. Bottom line: amazing location, beautiful marina atmosphere, strong restaurant staff, and genuinely relaxing vibes. But the interior needs a serious refresh, and a small handful of staff members are dragging down what could otherwise be an exceptional property.

The only room available had two queens instead of a king. This means my spouse could starfish in his own bed. No worries there. After being given our room cards, the left elevator had an out of order sign on it. We used the right elevator to go up to our room. The key cards then would not work for us to get into the room. Went back downstairs and when we got down - realized we used the left elevator (out of order?) Got down and told them the key cards were not working and they immediately told us something was wrong with our room and they were upgrading us. It was a strange series of events but it was fine. The rooms are outdated for sure but they'll do. I will say the bathroom set up is strange. The hand towel is on the wall by the toilet away from the sink and door. So you wash your hands and then walk to the opposite wall to dry your hands before turning around to walk out of the bathroom. The wall plugins stopped working near the bed and we had to charge our phones in the bathroom before they randomly started working again. A little sketchy. The weirdest part was the restaurant in the hotel. It was a Tuesday and they handed out a menu stating they were open until 10. I confirmed this on the hotel website. They, however, closed at 9. On top of that, I tried to order two different drinks which they didn't have but had listed on the menu. They did not state what they had available to order in the bar. Another patron tried to order a food item and was told "we don't have half of what is on that menu." We had the cheese curds which were good, but we tried to order one of their three deserts which they didn't have. It was just so strange. Why have menus that do not accurately describe what's available in the kitchen or bar? I will say someone near us ordered a steak salad which looked amazing. Not so sure we will ever return.

Short hair like that seems to be trimmed from somewhere unsightly in my opinion) on the very pillow I was going to lay my head on!!! Genuinely disappointed, mildly disturbed, never again. The 3.7 rating or whatever ratings has by the time you view it are lying to you. You'd be better off staying somewhere else. Normally Hilton has some pretty decent places, but I'm ashamed to say this place generally felt very... meh. I'm not making this one star because the receptionist was nice about my reservation, even after having a bit of a hard time finding our reservation (someone else's reservation showed up for us somehow) and found an accessible room for my family and I (elderly individuals in my family). Very old and outdated, no valet or bellman as mentioned above. Very deceiving looks. I would say goodnight (as of the time of writing this), but I doubt I'll be getting any sleep after the "pillow hair incident" of haunting my dreams.

The service is very good, but they do need to work on getting you into your room on time. The maid service is exceptional. We also love the valets. This hotel is expensive, but great for a special occasion. It has a full bar, room service and at least 3 eateries. We loved having brunch there. Their eggs benedict are just great as is all the food. We did not get a chance to try the other eateries. We loved the pool. After housekeeping cleared a used teacup from my room earlier in the day, it wasn't replaced...something I'd expect as a basic standard at a hotel of this caliber. I called to request a new one and ended up waiting 21 minutes before calling back for the status on it. I was then told that they would follow up on it and I'd receive an update on the status. 7 more minutes go by - no cup, NO UPDATE. I called back one final time, to which the man on the phone said, yes he put in a rush order and the man who's delivering it is elderly and it might take him just a few minutes longer. I said no problem but just so you know, my cup was taken earlier in the day and not replaced. The man then said he can definitely let housekeeping know for next time. I proceeded to respond and intended to say okay great but before I could even get to the great, he STRAIGHT UP HUNG UP ON ME. Also the person who delivered the cup was a younger boy so idk if the elderly man reasoning was just an excuse for the moment. I went down to the lobby immediately to speak to the manger in person and let her know how insanely unprofessional, unpleasant, and UNCOOL this was. They made an error and I got attitude back for it?! AT A FIVE STAR HOTEL. To their credit, she did apologize and sent up dessert, but by that point the issue wasn't about the teacup or a free comped anything. It was about the breakdown in communication, lack of respect, and service quality. Overall, not the level of service I anticipated for the price, which is disappointing. I will not be staying here again and don't recommend it for anyone else looking for a true five star experience.

I only dock 1 star because I do feel at over $1,000 a night they could elevate certain aspects and experiences on the property; rooms could use some extra detailed cleaning for example; the restaurant staff could be trained to the same effect at the front desk agents which greet you by name. This hotel charges anywhere from 600 to over $1000 a night so it is not in a class of Hotel where you expect them to skimp on the food. However, the bakery goods they serve are brought in from somewhere else, not prepared on site, and refrigerated so when you have a chocolate croissant, you have the choice of having them bake it, which turns into melted chocolate or not warmed, which makes it taste like rubber. While this is somewhat of a petty complaint there are just certain things you expect of hotels that cater to people who can pay anywhere from 600 to a couple thousand dollars a night and you expect that certain things are in line with that degree of expense. However, in this case, not only the croissants, but the food and menu is somewhat marginal and clearly they are in need of someone new overseeing the kitchen Also, when I did ask for the manager, someone introduced himself as a person who was on duty not necessarily the manager in the response I got is something that I really dislike. The response is that we've been doing this for years. Having refrigerated bakery goods is not something they should be doing for years at this type of restaurant. This is one thing that really needs to be changed if I want refrigerated, croissants, or pastries I I can go to Ralph's or Vons or a grocery store. Frankly, even a donut shop has better bakery goods than this hotel.

Out of all the hotels I've been to, this place has the thinnest walls. The first room I stayed in had noisy neighbors. I could hear their TV and loud conversation very clearly and I had tons of trouble sleeping. It was so bad that I I had to ask them to give me a separate room because I couldn't even sleep. Even though I could still somewhat hear my new neighbors, they weren't nearly as loud as obnoxious as the previous ones. Note that there is no complimentary breakfast at this place; it costs $10 each morning for it. The hotel does come with very slow wi-fi, a very small gym on the second floor, and an outdoor pool and jacuzzi. Unfortunately, there is no printer which I really needed to use. Also unfortunately, the gym has no elliptical, just an old treadmill, bike, and row machine. There's only 3 sets of light dumbbells. The good thing is that the rooms are clean and comfortable. Not all the AC's/heaters are the same though. I prefer the ones that have the actual number of the temperature written on them instead of just a flatout knob with colors. The deposit to stay is $100 and they give you a parking pass. It's unfortunate that the guests here don't know how to park correctly though...
