We had a great stay at the Tyrolean Lodge. It is in a great location, close to resort and walking distance to town. The breakfast was really nice everyday. Always fresh fruit, breads, eggs, selected meats, and great coffee. Made the start of the day perfect. The front desk was so friendly and welcoming. 8 years ago we stayed at their Best Western in town, that hotel was nice to. I highly recommend this hotel, made our trip easy.

A very cozy lodge with every amenity you could imagine - I spent every morning relaxing by the fire drinking my awesome coffee (they have an epic coffee/latte machine) - they also have a nice exercise room which isn't huge but works perfectly for a nice workout. Very close to town - we easily walked to dinner and other activities. There is also a bus line which makes getting to Sun Valley Lodge easy and fun. The best part though, were the wonderful staff. They were delightful and accommodating. Highly recommend this cute, comfy and cozy lodge.

Price was a little more than it was worth, but given that it was during the Sun Valley Writers Conference and high season it was a relative bargain at $245 per night. The little motel has an Austrian Inn theme and has some charming amenities such as a game room and a cappuccino machine in the lobby. It is a bit dated, but clean. My favorite part of my stay was that it was my first post pandemic trip in which daily maid service was not asked for specifically, but most graciously received. It is conveniently located just a mile from the Sun Valley Lodge and Village. It faces Mt Baldy and I thoroughly enjoyed reading in the Adirondack chairs on my second evening. and The complimentary breakfast included super yummy summer berries and yogurt as well as the usual Best Western fare of steam trays with eggs, meat and soggy potatoes and make your own waffle station. There were delicious and innovative tea offerings.. When I check out tomorrow, I will make a toasted PB and J for the road. Minus one star for not having an elevator and having to schlep your own bags up some awkward winding staircase. Four stars is pretty great for a Best Western in my book. If the rate had been $100 less( which I suspect it is most of the year, this would be a solid five star review.

The coffee and espresso station and a bookcase of games and books.

Best Western Tyrolean was a good, mid-priced option for us. There are two Best Westerns in this town, one on the main drag, and this one a few blocks away, still convenient to downtown Ketchum, but away from most of the hustle and bustle. There is an open meadow across the street and a beautiful view of the surrounding hills. Our bed (with pillow top mattress) was comfortable but not too firm. The room included a refrigerator and coffee maker. Multi leveled, there are no elevators, but at least the stairs are indoors. They have a hot, continental breakfast that is included in the price of your room. It includes eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, cereal among other choices. At 4pm, there is a tray of freshly baked cookies set out for their guests. There is also a hot drink machine that makes a variety of coffee and espresso drinks, or dispenses hot water for tea, available 24/7. This is a pet friendly motel, but I had a hard time finding the wheelchair accessible accesses. Never did find it, but they assured me it exists. The entry level is oddly designed to have choppy, multiple levels with short stairways, even to their breakfast dining area. The gracious lobby has a wonderful seating area in front of a beautiful fireplace that is kept well stocked. There are books, and games, and a game table as well.

On our first visit to Sun Valley we chose to stay at the Best Western Tyrolean Lodge because of the proximity to Bald Mountain. Upon our arrival our room was not as clean as I would've liked, but it got better. The daily maids freshened it up and we got clean towels, glasses etc each day. The complementary breakfast comes in handy if you're in a hurry to go skiing. Coffee maker in the lobby is nice. Most of the front desk staff members are helpful.

We stayed over New Years Eve weekend for a father/son ski trip. Everything either met or exceeded our expectations. Very close to River Run lift & Gondola. Would stay again.

View out the front of this hotel is amazing. I recommend rooms with the Mountain View.

We had originally wanted a VRBO but this place worked out even better accommodating all 20 of us and of course the heated pool and large hot tub was awesome!

We stayed during ski season and here are the things I was most happy with (in no particular order): * The said it was a continental breakfast so I wasn't expecting all they offered like fresh local bagels and pastries, fresh berries, cut up pineapple, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, a very high quality granola, oatmeal with all the fixings, a pancake machine, juices, coffees with syrups and milks, lots of high quality tea choices, scrabbled eggs allow and with some mix-ins sometimes cheese or veggie, hard boiled eggs, meat like bacon sausage patties or links, sometime or potato like hash brown patties or shedded hash browns, roasted veggies, and on the weekend days they offered salmon with capers and onions. Plus flavored yogurts in individual containers and whole fruit like apples, oranges, and bananas. * humidifiers in the room. The hotel is so dry. We live at elevation in Park City, UT but Ketchum is drier! We ran the humidifier on high constantly but it was so great they offered this in the room. * they have a parking garage. It is $30/day AND there are easy access free spots around the hotel, but I imagine during peak season the offered parking is best. And it's covered so your car will be snow-free! * the heated pool for year round enjoyment (and two hot tubs). The air was too cold for my liking (because you have to get out eventually). * pretty decent gym with peloton bikes. * oh and the restaurant happy hour seems to be a hit with hotel guests and locals. The one huge downside was because it's so dry and they don't have a humidifier installed for the hotel, we got static shocked every time we touched the elevator buttons or unlocking our room. And it hurt! And when you're in town, I recommend the city museum, the wolf museum, the library, and the cemetery. And if the pedestrian paths are snow-free then head down Sun Valley Road.

After he told us what time the bar and kitchen close, we quickly made our decision of what we wanted to order. When he came back he walked right past us and SAT DOWN with two other girls at a table to talk and flirt with them for about 10-15 minute. we decided to go to the bar to order becuase he was chatting away and there was no bartender. the cooks were very nice though. FINALLY he came over to us when we were standing at the bar I told him that we just wanted to order before the kitchen closed, and he awkwardly took our order. When my friend asked if they had decaf coffee, he said they "don't really have that" BOY what do you mean a hotel does not have decaf coffee?! so I ordered what I thought was a rhubarb crip pie. I thought it would be worth it, boy was I WRONG. I can handle bad service but after spending $15 damn dollars on a dessert my ice cream was old, we could taste the crystals and some was a little chewy, in case you don't know that's not how icecream sound taste. and when I looked at my "Freshly made" pie it was literally rhubarb filling with some soggy stuff on top. NOT freshly made, and I couldn't eat it, I was so sad. Also we never got an apology, so that sucked. as Gordon Ramsay would say, " apologies to your customers and shut it down." So limelight, I just want my money back or something because that was an awful experience. - Angry Customer!

When we replied that we were concerned about the housekeeping department not closing the door completely so that it would be locked he said the housekeeping employees had been there for years and that it would not be an problem. Unfortunately, when we returned to our room after sightseeing later during our stay we discovered that housekeeping had not completely closed the door. We were able to enter the room without using our key. This was the second time we found our door was not secured. One employee's response about the door problem was "it's an older hotel"! Our numerous complaints about the door were mostly ignored and not addressed by hotel employees. The severe headaches and breathing problems I experienced only occurred while I was in the room. They began shortly after we were in the room awhile and completely went away after leaving the room. We only used the fireplace a few times for short periods at the beginning of our stay. We discontinued using it because we were afraid it was causing the headaches and breathing problems. There was definitely something in the room causing my headaches. My sister also had issues with her breathing while in the room. Her bed was further away from the fireplace. The manager's response To my complaint was uncaring and inappropriate. Her inference that the headaches and breathing problems were caused by hiking was ridiculous! I do have severe asthma and allergies but did not experience any headaches nor breathing problems while sightseeing (from our car). Hiking was not an option because of recent back and knee procedures. Walking is difficult and that is the reason I requested a room near the elevator when making the reservation. Unfortunately, the room we initially given was at the far end of the hallway. The second room was a few doors closer to the elevator but still quite a long walk for someone with mobility problems. Our complaints about the multiple issues we encountered during our stay were largely ignored. Management was not helpful.

The room was clean, linens spotless and the carpet had a few small stains but it is expected from an older property. The room has fresh paint, pretty granite countertop sink but the room is older and if you look closely you'll see that in the details. Regardless of this the property is well maintained and no doubt the ownership is doing a nice job of making maintenance. Shower head is nice and clean towels. Like the liquid hand and shower soaps, they all smell excellent. Parking was no issue, which is a + from a property in downtown. One drawback, the 3 story property allows for you to hear anyone walking above you. We were on the second floor and could hear the little ones running on the 3rd floor. Location? If you are on the lower level, you will hear people using the stairs, quiet walking, stomping, pounding... if the people upstairs drop something it's so loud that we jumped from the surprise.
