What a shame the GM can't be bothered to respond... We stayed in this establishment the first week of May - and is one of the filthiest hotels I've ever seen. I emailed the GM Diana Cupps about the dirty issues and she has yet to respond. I've waited and waited. I've given her the benefit of doubt, but now it's the end of June and still nothing. To wait this long is a clear indication of her carelessness. Her inability to direct and follow through is nothing short of deplorable. The breakfast too was quite unimpressive. The Governor of Colorado has dramatically relaxed the rules for COVID, as I'm sure travelers already know. In this hotel, there were no tables or chairs to sit and have breakfast. Instead, there is a hot breakfast "to go". At check in, we were not advised that breakfast would *only* be for take-out. The next morning, the offering was biscuits and gravy. It's impossible to enjoy something like that while driving. What an image, huh? A fast-food place is highly recommended. Course, if you only eat a piece of fruit in the mornings, then at least there's that. No discounts were available 'because they were full" - $150 a night for this nasty place. Egad. Here's lackadaisical response from my survey of them: Quote: "I hope that you will consider staying with us again so that we can have another chance to provide you with a superior experience. If I can provide any assistance, please don't hesitate to contact me directly at 719 738 1121. Sincerely, Diana Cupps General Manager Best Western Rambler" end quote. Save your hard-earned money and stay anywhere else. Have a look at the pictures... What are they of you ask? I take a wash cloth, dampen it, and run it across the floor - once.

Disgusting towel

Staff was friendly, that's why there is a star. This place is alright from the outside, horrible inside. During covid times, this was our "clean" towel in the room. Needless to say, we couldn't wait to leave this place. For the price, I expect much more than this!!

If youvve ever been to Walsenburg, you'll know that being the best property there is like saying you have the best cardboard box in city park. So yeah, its the best, the rooms were clean and they even had flat screen TVs. That said, take a look at my pics. Yeah, the decor outside our door was a wet toilet plunger. They have no elevator so if you're on the upper floor you have to drag your stuff up the stairs. and our room was outside the stairs, so we were treated to this noise every 30 minutes: "CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK" The "HOT" breakfast was ladles of canned gravy over hard biscuits. The walls are thin so the highway road crews staying here, partying, yelling and other unspeakable nasties were megaphoned through the hall and wall.

hair on the bed, in the sink, and in the shower

As one of the few hotels in a small town, I didn't expect too much. Our room was fine, the bed was made. However, when I pulled back the covers I found small hairs all over the entire bed. Our room was a no animal room, and you could tell they were not animal hairs. The sink had hair all in it as well, and the shower too. We called the front desk and room service was not available and they had no other rooms for us to go to. We had to go get clean sheets from the front desk and take off the hair covered ones. The front desk was understanding and took $10 off our bill. Continental breakfast was ok, one of the staff was preparing breakfast burritos in the morning and was very nice. If you just need a place to stay the night, bring your own sheets.

They comped our room but if they think I'm taking this off they are crazy.

Newly remodeled with a conference room, large central kitchen, and lounge area with big screen TV. The 2-bedroom suites were wonderful. Providing individual large bedrooms connected to a common area and bathroom. Bedrooms and common area all had TV's and common area had mini fridge and coffee maker. The HVAC system worked perfectly with modern climate controls. What a bonus to have the Canary brewpub directly downstairs. Good brews and cocktails with a limited menu of excellent food. If you are looking for lodging in Walsenburg, don't miss the opportunity of staying at The Lofts.

We intended to make it to Amarillo but gave up on that. I called all the standard hotel options but everything was booked up by other families on the road. Honestly, couldn't be more grateful we needed up here! I had not honestly heard of Walsenburg but we couldn't have gotten any luckier! The private loft space was SO clean. Plenty of towels left out for us. Comfortable couches to kick back on while we re-evaluated our next move. And THE BED - we stayed in Loft 1 and that queen bed was SO comfortable. We had the sweetest view of the town square from our window and the snow covering the trees was a magical touch. I can't emphasize how grateful we are for the most unexpected space to wind up in. THANK YOU so much.

I need to be back in Canon for a funeral, so I was already stressed to begin with when I went to…read moremake a motel reservation. I booked a room at the Budget Host Royal Gorge through hotels.com After I'd made the Budget Host reservation it occurred to me that checking in a little bit early would be really helpful, so I called the number on their website. They wouldn't answer their phone, and the voicemail was full. I looked up their national customer support number and called it. A woman answered with, "Hello?" Very odd. I told her I was trying to reach the Budget Host customer service number. She said, "Oh, that's me. I forwarded it to my cell phone." That's...different. This was their national customer service number. I told her I was trying to reach the hotel. She asked the city and state. When I told her she instantly said, "Oh, I know that property. We've gotten feedback before and have talked to them about being more available. Please understand that our properties are locally owned and operated." Oooookay. I don't need to deal with this on top of going to town for a funeral. I thanked her and cancelled the Budget Host. I booked a room at the Motel 6 Canon City. There was no way to contact THEM to ask if I could check in a couple of hours early. I cancelled. I booked a room with the Super 8. In the field asking if I had any additional requests, I wrote, "If there is any way I could check in at 1pm instead of 3pm, it would be SO HELPFUL." I finalized the reservation and backtracked a couple of pages to get their phone number. I figured even if I couldn't get a hold of anyone, I have stayed at this motel before and I knew I would be getting a decent room, even if I couldn't check in a little early. When I got back a couple of pages to get their phone number...there was already a message waiting for me. "Sure, you can check in at 1pm," is what it read." BOOM. THAT'S customer service. When I stayed at the Super 8 in the past they were great. I stupidly thought I might be able to save a few bucks, especially since I won't need the breakfast that the Super 8 serves. That was a dumb idea, and I won't make that mistake again. Just go to the Super 8. Seriously. I've stayed there before and it was very clean and quiet.
