It's just a convenient and clean place in the western edges of the Vail valley. If you are looking to stay in Eagle and want a convenient place that offers the ability to stay directly in Eagle - versus staying in Avon or Edward's and driving into Eagle - then the BW is your place. Eagle is just an awesome place - replete with pristine mountain bike trails and miles and miles of excellent gravel roads and supreme trails for running. The BW is not a place you'll want to lounge around, but it is clean, convenient, comfortable and the staff are awesome! read more

$282 for one night for a room with a broken refrigerator. Airhead girl at the desk suggested I pull the refrigerator out from the wall to make sure it was turned on. Yes, it was turned on, but not working. It was colder outside, and it was a warm summer night. She couldn't send anyone down to try to fix it, because there were no capable employees on duty who knew how to fix a refrigerator. She couldn't give us another 1st floor room. She couldn't do anything. Except the one thing she did do, was to hang up on me when I called back to the front desk for the third time seeking some kind of resolution to the problem. We were traveling with approximately $150 worth of food that needed to stay refrigerated. I expected that for the rate Best Western was charging, everything in the room would be operational. What a disappointment this place was! I received a "lip service" response from the management to my review of this place on another site. Really, do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere in this town. The property was fine. Clean and kept up. It's a Best Western, so nothing fancy in the rooms but that's fine. During Covid, they kept the pool locked and you had to request access. Which was fine but then when they let us in, the front desk staff did not say we needed to request towels. When I saw there were no towels and requested some (other guests told us we had to request them from the front desk) they yelled at me. Shannon checked us out and she did not honor their own 20% coupon on Yelp for our "next stay." She said that they are not associated with Yelp. Clearly this location doesn't have staff members educated about their own Yelp offers. These check in offers are posted by the business itself, not by Yelp. Best Western should not post coupons if they will not honor them. A few decent things about this location were the breakfast and the complimentary toothbrushes and toothpaste. Breakfast hours were Monday - Friday 6:00AM-9:00AM, Saturday & Sunday 7:00AM-10:00AM. The waffles, scrambled eggs, and potatoes were good. The majority of the staff was unfriendly. Anytime we asked questions or talked to them, it was cold and uninviting. Be careful with the blankets in the room, they had some dark disgusting stains on it. They have free cookies that they put out around the check in time. If you are checking in late, you may expect a few cookies or none. This could have been a 3 or 4 star stay if they had an educated and friendlier staff along with clean stain free blankets. read more

We were surprised with a room from our friends to use right after our wedding reception. They had checked us in the late afternoon and gave us the keys to use at our convenience. My friends had decorated the room with rose petals, champagne, chocolate and a dozen roses to make it extra special for us. By the time we got to the room late that night, the room was empty and the key card did not work. We went down to the front desk to talk to the attendant. She didn't know why the key card didn't work and then handed us the roses, champagne and chocolate (See's Candy box was soaked in the champagne ice bucket). She then said " I guess these are yours". With Covid protocol posted everywhere including in the room with the General Manager's promise of adherence to their Corporate Covid Policy.....why and who was in our room? Why did they take the flowers etc..? And what did they do in the room? They are not even suppose to clean the rooms after you check in. They would not answer these question when asked the next morning and the manager would not show his face although the manager was on the premise. They don't know who went in our room and still 3 days later will not get back to us. There is so many things wrong with what occurred and Best Western will not take ownership of the lack of security and health violations especially during the pandemic. The Eagle BW is very nice and clean. The front desk team was very helpful and welcoming. I was thanked for my top tier rewards level and provided a gift bag. My room was nice, clean, and was able to keep an eye on my bike. The fitness center is one of the best I have seen at a BW and had a great workout. The breakfast was nice and seemed to have great options. A biker friendly hotel and provided me with some old towels to clean off my helmet and bike. If I am ever near Eagle again, will definitely stay at the BW again. read more

Well. I LOVE that they have these huge 2 story rooms that accommodate 8 people very well with 2 bathrooms and a kitchenette. For the area, the price is really good. It's outdated in areas but clean. My grandkids and the adults were pleasantly surprised by the big airy indoor pool and jacuzzi when we arrived. Unfortunately both saunas don't work and the front desk said one has been down for about a year and the other warms up in about 30 mins but it didn't work for us. The eggs and meat at breakfast is very low quality but there is a god variety of other options. The coffee/cappuccino machine was great. After a long day skiing (remember I am a grandma!), we were so excited to use the jacuzzi again, only to find it cold. The front desk told me it had been drained for routine cleaning and would be warm in a few hours. That's after bed time. Oh well-not every manager can problem solve and have these things done midweek or early morning so it is available by the afternoon. I also left the door hanger asking for room cleaning when we were gone today but we were informed when I called that we have to bring down dirty towels to get clean ones and get a bag for our trash and leave it in the halls. So why have a door hanger for cleaning? Anyhow, things could be better but we are safe, together, and the beds and bedding is good (except the couch pullout-I wouldn't put adults on there). Pretty low quality on the sofa bed with no mattress cover. This place could be great with a little hospitality. read more

Ok I get it's ski season but come on! For on for $350 a night at least give your guests a decent experience.....The rooms are dated. Old drapes, bathrooms and furnishings. The TV doesn't work, the clicker looks like it's 10 years old and has been taped. $350! The mattress is lined under the sheets with plastic and it's hard as a rock. The bedding itself is old and worn and the comforter gives no warmth as it's years old as well. $350 a night. The wall HVAC system isn't consistent, it goes on and off all night long and doesn't keep the room warm. $350 a night. The towels are scratchy, like they've been worn and washed to the thread. The noise from other rooms, hall and above is is ridiculously noisy. It's understandable as the doors are at least 40 years old and offer no sound protection. $350 a night. The room is no more than 300 sq. ft. The bathroom is itty bitty with a single pedestal sink. The breakfast is meh. The eggs are inedible. At $350 a night...Classic example of corporate greed. Reminds me of slum lords. I use to be a loyal best western guest for both business and personal stays but the last 4 times I've stayed in their properties I've been more than disappointed. I've switched my preferred hotel brand to La Quinta Wyndham. They're doing it right, rooms are updated, clean and EVERYTHING in good working order, breakfast is a full hot meal as well, not just cereal and muffins. AND, at half (if not less) the cost. I'm a pilot so I stay in a lot of hotels. Avoid this one if possible. Stayed here 3 nights. Walls are paper thin, can hear conversations happening on both sides. Bathroom sink, when on, trickled water. Left the hot water on for 20 minutes, never got any hot water. Shower is odd in that when you turn it on the hot water comes first, the more you crank it open the colder it gets. The amenities are good (snacks, pool, hot tub, coffee) but the walls and floors/ceilings are paper thin and it just feels like a cheap, discounted truck stop type of place. read more

However looks are deceiving...... although nothing fancy, the rooms were clean, the beds comfortable and the staff AMAZING! We stayed here for 2 nights 8/4-8/6. We got in super late since we landed then drove from Denver. First glance rooms were nice, our parents went out leaving my sis, 2 year old nephew and myself in the room. We got everyone ready for bed. As my sister was climbing into bed she smelled putrid piss. Of course my first thought was maybe the toddler had an accident. Well sanity and logic set in and we realize it's completely dry. We had only been checked into the room like an hour and it was a BIG piss stain area! So we start peeling her bed like and onion LAUGHING uncontrollably, because hey...what else are you supposed to do when you climb into bed with a strangers piss....after peeling completely down to the bed bug layer, we finally found a layer that didn't smell horrible. ANYWHO I called to the front desk to let them know, told them there was dry piss in the room and that yes we investigated the idea that maybe it was the 2 year old...but in logic/sanity mode we realized it wasn't possible cause we hadn't been in the room that long and that we had changed the toddler on the other bed! The front desk person came down, brought us sheets, we had to ask for mattress pad and everything. Then he came back fully gloved and had my very PREGNANT & UNGLOVED sister put the piss stained sheets in the bag while HE held it like what in the actual. Then he left. WE had to remake the bed ourselves!!! THEN when my Mom complained at check off the claim they recorded our call to the front desk and they WE had said the toddler peed in the bed. No. MFer we did not say that. She was also told that the call was "extremely garbled and hard to understand" so how again do you know what I said...so if you choose to stay here. Maybe smell your beds before you unpack and probably leave the toddler outside the room so they can blame it on them. Also, your breakfast sucks. read more

The irony that people who LIVE in Colorado are complaining about a living social coupon saying its close to Vail is not fair to this establishment. if you live in JeffCo and didnt know that Eagle is 23 miles from Vail is your own fault. Its the rockies, most towns are 45 minutes away from each other....Groupon advertises Frisco Lodge as "close to A-Basin"...Its the same distance. People need to complain about something. Getting a room on a FRIDAY in FEBRUARY after 6 FEET of SNOW in the last month for $128 is incredible. If you complain about a room while surrounded by 2 of the best Mts in North America, it means you didnt ski hard enough (or even know how to). It was getting really dark so we had to spend the night in Eagle, CO. The hotel reservation site was down so they had to book a separate reservation for me causing my account to have two reservations. They were able to remove one after the system came back up the next day. We had a room on the first floor. The floors were not solid, every time someone walked you could hear and feel it move. Also the ceiling was very thin as well so we could hear people upstairs walking around. The toilet flushed really loud. It's hard to get a good night sleep here. She really went the extra mile to make myself and my guest feel extremely welcome tonight including letting us use the pool as her shift was ending and she was cleaning up. I also witnessed Daniele being very kind with a fun demeanor when interacting with a child that was at the pool. As someone who used to work and stay at a 5 star luxury hotel I can say there is a ton of value at this specific best western when you consider the amenities and good service. The two floor suite is absolutely awesome when you're coming off the slopes and you're friend who smells can get his own floor and shower. All the amenities so far have been great with no issues. I requested that she ask the folks above us to please stop stomping around. My wife had only been out of the hospital a few hours from having major back surgery . That NASTY woman would not do anything other than repeat numerous times 10pm is quite time .. So I went up and spoke to a very nice lady and she was very sweet and calmed her kids down. it is too bad the front desk woman only had the compassion of snake. I would use other terms but you I am sure get the point. I will be calling corporate to discuss this with them. She was without a doubt THE NASTIEST front desk clerk I have dealt with in my 67 years on this earth. Our kids love this place! It is your standard Best Western type hotel. The rooms are basic, but comfy. The breakfast is what we've come to expect from continental breakfasts. You can find *something* to fill your belly, but nothing looks particularly appetizing. The best part about this place by far is the pool and workout area. Our boys loved starting their days in the gigantic saltwater pool every morning. Everything is well kept and the staff was attentive. We have family in the Eagle area, so we prefer to stay in Eagle rather than Glenwood or Vail. We have Stayed at the Christie Lodge in Avon, which we would not recommend. Their whole property is set up awkwardly. We have also stayed at the Hotel Colorado in Glenwood, what was o-kay. Also at Vail Cascade and The Pines Lodge in Beaver Creek--both of which were fantastic, but too far of a daily drive to visit our family (which is the main point of our visits). I think many of the negative reviews are more disappointed with the fact that they thought it was closer to Vail, than the actual hotel. The hotel is a nice, comfy stay for families--if you want to be in Eagle. read more

The hotel is about average for what you would pay in this area. The carpets in the hallways and rooms are a bit worn but our room itself was clean and comfortable. The reason I gave this hotel 3 stars versus 4 is that housekeeping was not good. I've never had this scenario before.... we left the hotel room at 10 am and returned at 12:45 and the room had not been cleaned even though we had the "please make up room" sign outside our door. We thought no problem, we'll be leaving again at 1:30 so I called the front desk and asked that housekeeping please come then. The housekeeping cart was two doors down and she was cleaning another room when we left our room at 1.30. I stopped by at the main lobby again and asked if she could please remind housekeeping to clean our room. We had left a tip on the bed. We returned at 10:45 pm and the sign was still hanging from our doorknob and the room hadn't been touched and we had no clean towels and the garbage can was overflowing. The only positive in all of this was that Danielle who is on the night shift in lobby brought us fresh towels and emptied our garbage. She was very apologetic and even offered to move us to a new room but that wasn't necessary. I guess what bothered me is that expecting housekeeping to clean a room is not out of the ordinary and something you shouldn't have to beg for when paying for a hotel room. Eagle Lodge is only 20-30 min from Both resorts but gives you an affordable option to enjoy the area. The staff here is amazing and the breakfast is fantastic!
