The front desk employeee (female) that checked us in monday night was incredibly UNfriendly, UNwelcoming & UNwilling to give us any info on the property. The room smelled horrible, the couch was coming apart, everything was dingey. Breakfast looked to be amazing with all the options but then when you grabbed a food item it was stale or over cooked. The ONLY redeeming factor is the indoor water park perfect for kids under 7. Will not be back. Which stinks bc we come up at least 2x per year from AZ. read more

Best Western Plus Bloomington Hotel - All over the ceiling??? - Hotels Near Me - Bloomington, Minnesota

Got a solid deal on the room, and the hotel generally lives up to what you'd expect from a Best Western. We would have been able to check in a little early, but there was a bit of a line due to a conference that was starting up the next day. Not an issue. We stayed on a Monday & Tuesday night. However, when I approached the desk, the young lady working couldn't find my reservation. I've been through this game before on more than one occasion with a third party booking agent. When I went back in with my further information another, more casually dressed, gentleman helped me and immediately found my reservation (without the further information). He told me that they would speak with the other worker for further training. Check in was then smooth. I informed the desk that my partner had fatigue/mobility issues, and they put us in a room both close to the entry way and close to the elevator. The room was spacious with 2 queen beds. This establishment definitely had a slightly higher quality of mattress than most budget/value level hotels, and this 6'9" 420 lbs Santa appreciated it greatly. The aesthetics of the hotel in the lobby and more public areas are quite modern with a slightly more quaint regional/forest/northern theme. We didn't snap too many pictures as the website and other third party sites (such as Yelp) have plenty that truly represent the current state of the hotel. Unfortunately, the hot tub was down at the time, and that discouraged me from even visiting the pool area. Maybe next time if we end up here, it was a touch disappointing as the pool/hot tub area was part of the draw for booking this room. No dings in the rating for this, though, as former hotel workers both my partner and I understand. There were a couple dings in the rating. When we got to our room we discovered that the industrial style toilet was leaking from the plumbing. It was slow enough that we decided not to bother the front desk with it until we left. We just placed a towel in the area to prevent spreading. I do feel that this could have been caught by housekeeping prior to our occupancy. The other ding comes in the fact that one of the lights was not properly plugged into the wall, the plug was behind a night stand. Again, I believe housekeeping should be checking to ensure all electronics are fully plugged in. Fortunately, nobody was hurt and I don't believe there was major damage, but the pedastal light came on when I touched it (due to the plug only being partially in the wall), and moments later there was a loud pop and half the room went dead. This was on check-out day, so again we didn't bother the front desk until then. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel for families, those that can catch a good deal and want to be close to the Mall, and, well, we didn't take advantage of the discount to Fogao Gaucho, but we've heard great things (and the price even without the discount honestly isn't that bad). read more

Best Western Plus Bloomington Hotel - Props to whomever framed this classic shot. - Hotels Near Me - Bloomington, Minnesota

Have an early morning flight and worried you might miss it? This is the place for you! Kust ask for a quiet room & you're sure to score the one right by the side exit! No alarm needed - with the paper-thin walls & complete lack of sound proofing, you'll be wide awake by 6am, listening to the sweet sounds iof screaming children as they run through the halls, doors slamming & toilets flushing - with a flush so strong I'm sure they've sucked in at leaat a few guests. Meanwhile, we have a 130pm flight & we were hoping to sleep in. Despite the clean room & comfortable bed, that clearly didn't happen. Included shuttle & attached JTs restaurant were the main reasons for booking. Well, that & wanting to sleep. At least the shuttle was a success. At one point, I'd have suggested the attached restaurant on arrival. That is no longer the case. If you do stay here, eat first. Reviewed separately. Redeemed a free night & pretty sure we overpaid. On check-in we were promptly ignored- gotta keep that eyeliner just right, priorities. Check-in is somehow painfully slow. Then there was the attempt to charge us for the room. They did, at last, honor the pre-paid with points reservation. For as long as I can recall, there was a a gentleman who worked the front desk. We were here on his last night working... y'all really should have given him that raise he asked for. He did twice the work of the 2 at the desk last night, in half the time & did it all with a smile. It appears that a lot was lost with his departure. I'm sure his current employer is thrilled to have him. I know we, as frequent guests, we sure do miss him! Overall: Room was clean & comfortable tho starting to show signs of wear. 24hr Shuttle reliable & we had a great driver. Call & it takes about 20min to arrive. Schedule the return ride at check in. The shuttle runs in 30min increments. Don't ask for recommendations on time of pick up. The people next to us were advised they needed to be picked up around 6am & probably no later than 630am, to be able to grab some breakfast & still make their 1130am domestic flight. Uhhhh. 5hrs??? Service: poor in all areas, excluding the shuttle & bar counter (we didn't hit the bar but could see/hear the interaction. Subpar, overpriced food. Overpriced room in general for what you get... list rate at time of stay $169 K room. It's safe to say we'll officially be switching to the Omni when here, where, for the roughly the same price, we get excellent service & dining options, a quiet room & a genuinely better experience. We just have to get our own ride... read more

We had a somewhat complicated reservation - one night on our own, two nights as part of a group reservation and a final night on our own. It took us SEVEN discussions with the reservation desk to get this arranged and properly charged! Additionally there is NO daily housekeeping for clean towels, beds made up, etc. you must request it each time you want / need it. The hot water took several minutes to reach our bathroom faucet. There is no fan in the bathroom. We were there over a weekend and the breakfast room was VERY crowded and didn't have adequate seating or access to the food selections. Lines waiting for waffles and coffee. Please consider these issues before selecting this hotel! read more

Great place to stay if you like mice and staff that don't care about them. We reserved a room for 3 nights for Spring Break. We got there and were sent to a 2nd floor room. My husband is disabled so walking is difficult for him. We were not told that the elevator was out of order. We were told that the pool was out of order for the day as a child had gotten sick in it. Totally understandable and fair. We went the next day down to the pool, all seemed well, if but a bit cold. I went through the gym to check it out and was met with a mouse. I was instantly grossed out and went to advise the front desk. I may as well have told them that grass is green. Needless to say, we were done. My husband packed up our things and I looked for a different hotel and we were gone in less than an hour. If you're just looking for a roof over your head, this works. But maybe keep your shoes on. read more

Very happy with the cleanliness of the hotel, the cozy lighting in the rooms, and the filling breakfast! We only stayed one night so we didn't have time to check out the pool, but we had a very relaxing time and it was very peaceful! 11/10 would stay here again :) read more

Was booked here for a night via my company and starting from the check in, it was an interesting experience. The young men at the front desk did not really seem to know what they were doing and had to question if we were employees of our company, as we're wearing our uniforms. It seemed as though they have never worked with us before, which I know to be false as we work for an airline who frequently stays here on layovers. The room was typical, furnishings a little outdated but overall a decent room. However, there were food crumbs left over which shows it was not vaccuumed. The worst part was the bedding. Both beds' comforters were not cleaned. Had surface stains on them, as though they were never stripped from the bed and just remade with the sheet tucked on top. I ended up sleeping with just the thin sheet and a towel because I was so grossed out. My fault for not checking the beds before I was actually crawling into it for the night and too tired to request a new room. Other minor inconveniences were the TV remote was missing and I had to manually change the channel, volume, etc by hand on the monitor. Also, the hot water in the shower was definitely not hot at all. The second most important thing is this is also a very family friendly hotel - meaning groups of children everywhere and running up and down the halls at all hours. I stayed there on a Saturday night, so maybe its only bad on the weekends, but something to be mindful of if you are actually looking to rest or use the pool. read more

Manager name is Geyoni DO NOT STAY HERE!!! ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE SMALL CHILDREN. Horrible experience with this hotel. To start the AC was having issues throughout hotel and hotel manager did not make guests aware of this prior to check in. Hotel room temperature was at 80 degrees and I was moved to 3 different rooms and all had same issue. Once I spoke to manager I told him I understand there isn't much he can do to fix the AC but I would like to be reimbursed for the remaining 2 nights I had left. He assured me he would reimburse me and that all I had to do was call Priceline so he can speak with them to approve the refund. ( being I booked with price line they had to hear manager confirm refund). Once Priceline was on the line he would not answer or come out of the back room. I could hear him and another lady laughing and joking while I was waiting for him to come out to speak with Priceline. Once I was trying to get him to come out other guest asked me what was wrong and I told them the truth which the manager did not like so he then tried to tell me I had to leave the grounds. This was the most unprofessional hotel I have ever stayed in and dealt with. He did this with multiple guests. I came here with my family for a one night get away and I have mixed feelings about this place. I will start with the good first, the pool area was fun, it has a nice splash pad for my young one, then the pool and hot tub were nice. The breakfast in the morning was actually pretty decent so no complaints about that. The bad, the rooms were not cleaned very well at all, the bedding and towels had stains or something on them, instead of just replacing the Kleenex box they shoved some in the top and when I grabbed one there was nothing left in there, they literally shoved it in the box crumpled up and looked like something you would not want to use, the fridge didn't keep our stuff very cold at all, and overall the rooms just didn't feel clean, there was dust and everything almost like they just made the bed with the same blankets that were already there and ran through with a vacuum quick. We didn't have any wash cloths in the bathroom besides one, and some towels that weren't very clean looking. Another thing they don't tell you before you come, we all know hotels have deposits but normally they are around the $50 range or so, unless told otherwise, well when I got there they said it was a $200 deposit which I had to leave again to go add more money to my card because I was short $20 on the card I only had cash which they will not take. So after adding money I came back, they said "well do you have another card because we no longer accept cashapp cards we just started that this week?", and I said there is nothing online stating you don't take cashapp and when I was just here with my card out no one told me then either, and I said you guys had no issues with me paying for the room and taking my money already with this card, so he had to go get a manager because also the room booked was non-refundable so she allowed me this time to use the cashapp card (which was nice) and I told them to update the website so no one else runs into this problem, and make people aware of the amount of the deposit they will need which they didn't say it over the phone to me nor online anywhere. I know you get the money back but it's inconvenient when you aren't aware before you get there, especially after having to wait in line the first time for over 20 mins to check in because there is only one person at the front desk who also wasn't very helpful nor polite, just complaining about how they can't wait to leave and get off work. I understand wanting to get off work we all do, but being polite in between saying that would have been nice. Overall I was happy with the pool area because my kids enjoyed it, but the hotel itself reminded me of any other cheap hotel that doesn't require a $200 deposit, I don't even think the room was worth that even if something was damaged (which it wasn't) but geeze AT LEAST get some cleaners who actually want to clean because the room was pretty gross. Oh and one last thing, online it says they have an arcade, well if 2 claw machines and 2 racing games is an arcade then I don't know, but it was definitely not an arcade and it was overpriced for the games anyway. read more

Stayed here last weekend with my daughter for a fun getaway. The hotel presents itself nicely online, but I was disappointed with some main features. None of the balcony doors that face the pool seem to lock. I checked a couple rooms. Big safety concern and they could have cared less. Also, during a heatwave, the AC was not working in the rooms. Instead of being truthful, they danced around it and said "we'll call maintenance" knowing full well there was nothing they could do until the following day. I went to speak with the manager and after him giving me an attitude and being very unempathetic (which in CS, you need this quality), I asked for a card to which he replied "I don't have one". A manager of a hotel doesn't have a card? I asked if anyone had one and he went to the back room and never returned. So rude. Again, my biggest disappointment was with safety, comfort and staff. Definitely would not be staying here again. read more

Here for business. The restaurant was closed, which I was not expecting. The rooms were clean with comfortable beds. Temperature was Comfortable. Some updates could be done. My biggest con has been the gym. Several machines were broken and there were no free weights. The water jug was empty and it didn't have any cleaning wipes to clean the equipment. Water park area appeared put together. For the price, it has met my needs. read more

We drove 5 hours to stay here over Christmas for our kids to play in the toddler swim area. After driving in a winter storm, we get to the hotel to learn not only is the restaurant closed for food but the pool is down for extreme weather conditions. We were exhausted, we walked into a dirty room that seemed like a motel. We did not stay longer than 30 minutes before paying hundreds of dollars more to stay at the Great Wolf Lodge which I would give. 5/5! read more

What a nightmare. I booked a room through Priceline. I called the number listed on my confirmation email to book two additional nights. I was told that all was confirmed for a 3-night stay, August 18-21. After one night, I met a client and ran an errand. Around 12:30 p.m., I asked the woman at the desk whether I could book an additional fourth night for Monday. I was told to wait until Sunday or Monday to check for availability. (Note that this conversation happened after check-out). I returned to my room about an hour later to find a housekeeper throwing my belongings into the trash, about $800 worth of clothes, shoes, privileged legal documents, and $110 in cash. I was livid. I was told by the same person I had spoken with an hour earlier that I had not checked out. I said I was booked for three nights. The front desk worker kept insisting that she was right and was calling the police. I said go ahead. I called my friend and explained the crisis. After everything was put back, the desk worker knocked again insisting on me leaving. I said give me 30 minutes. I packed my work items and one-week vacation belongings into my car. Two police cars and officers awaited me in the parking lot. I explained that this was a Priceline mistake. They escorted me to the room to retrieve the rest of my belongings. I gave them my key card. The desk manager refused to apologize or even look me in the eye. She hid behind a door at the desk. I have never been treated so poorly. The hotel lost two more or maybe three more nights from me. The call for police was a bully trying to make me feel inferior. I will never stay at the Best Western In Bloomington, Minnesota again. I hope others read this post and follow suit. read more

If you're looking for an unforgettable hotel experience, look no further than the Best Western in Bloomington! We arrived at the delightful hour of 3 a.m. and were greeted by what seemed to be a friendly staff member. Turns out, they were just practicing their improv skills, because what followed was nothing short of a comedy sketch.First up, a surprise $200 fee - it's like they threw us a surprise party, only without the fun. When we finally made it to our rooms, we were treated to a vintage light show with flickering bulbs and no clocks in sight. Who needs to know the time when you're living in a Best Western time warp? The key card system was a nostalgic trip down memory lane, harking back to the early 2000s. No fancy NFC technology here - just good old-fashioned card swiping. It's like paying tribute to the glory days of credit cards.Proximity to the Mall of America was a plus, but the real highlight was the kids' water park. Picture this: flimsy wristbands that fall off faster than you can say "family vacation." Lose one, and you're down $25 - a small price to pay for paper jewelry. Breakfast came with the wristbands, but if you enjoy IHOP, just head there instead. Now, the pool experience was top-notch. Security patrols every 15 minutes to enforce the sacred wristband rule. Special shoutout to Ryan from Blue Line Investigation, who ensures the wristband law is followed with military precision. Never mind the kids running, roughhousing, or the memorable incident on the water slide. Tim's got his eyes on the prize: wristbands and nothing else. After our paper wristbands mysteriously vanished, we approached the front desk hero, Yussuf. His customer service skills shone through as he suggested we pay $100 for new ones. His crowning moment was when he threw papers in my wife's face - truly a masterclass in hospitality.Despite our best efforts to speak to a manager, it seems they were as elusive as a unicorn. Shoutout to Greg, wherever you are. We did manage to dig our wristbands out of the garbage, but by then, the magic was gone. The store by the front desk was a hidden gem, often closed, and the water dispenser stayed empty on scorching days - a testament to the hotel's commitment to hydration challenges. And let's not forget the shower experience, akin to four kids with Super Soakers aiming right at your face. Refreshing, to say the least. In conclusion, the Best Western in Bloomington offers an experience you won't soon forget. For all future visits, we'll be exploring other options and suggest you do the same. read more

The pool area was very nice and clean with staff coming in and out making sure there was clean towels and the area was staying clean. I showed up to Best Western last night, and the AC was broken, so I was provided with a new room 2035. This room had rodent droppings on both beds (images are attached). When I got back to my room the next day, my belongings were in garbage bags that I had to pick up from the hotel staff, who said they weren't aware of any rodent problems, or why I was not in my original room. On the bright side, at least the AC was fixed now. I contacted Best Western Customer support, who reported that they called the hotel but no one picked up. Picked this place for a local getaway for my kids so I could get college work done. Because there is a cool waterpark it was nearly $200 a night. Be prepared to also spend an extra $200 for incidentals. So $400 dollars later we get to the water area. Nice hot tub full of 30 unsupervised kids. The largest part of the water area is completely empty. Why? Because the pool is the temp of hose water. Absolutely ice cold. Not a single person in it. Due to that the kiddie pool and got tub were completely over run. Needless to say I got no school work done and I'm out a chunk of change. Made my birthday great. Thank you for that.......... I needed the weekend away and all the staff was amazing

5 of us stayed in 2 rooms at this hotel on 2/11-2/14, 2021. We came for the pool experience. We worked hard in our communication with the hotel staff prior to booking to ensure it was COVID-safe. We were told the pool was at 25% occupancy for a maximum of 50 people; each poolside room came with 4 wristbands for the pool. There was also information posted that you could not buy extra wristbands. The pool area is fantastic - 3 pools (waterpark for kids, regular pool and hot tub). From Thursday night when we checked in till Saturday early afternoon it was great and very safe. On Saturday afternoon it became absolute chaos - to the point we would not go into the pool. At one point I counted over 80 people in the pool area. There were many without wristbands on. We saw several birthday parties going on in the poolside rooms and some of those parties brought in many guests who were in the pools without wristbands. The onset of those parties is when the chaos began. I called the front desk and reported it. They were very courteous and said they would send someone right away, and they did. But they did nothing. Over the next 4 hours or so management kept coming and looking, but never did anything. They did not ask anyone without a wristband to leave, nor did they even try to limit the number of people in the pool area to get to their occupancy limit. We paid extra to be in the poolside rooms, because that is a requirement to use the pools. When I pay extra, I expect management to honor their promises about safety and occupancy. They did not do that on Saturday. This could become a super-spreader event, and is a reportable violation. I would stay here again with my kids and grandkids, but never on the weekend during COVID. read more

went on vacation with my parents, two younger brothers, and our 2 small dogs. Before booking the reservations my mom calls the hotels first to make sure that they indeed accept pets. My mom called Best Western in Bloomington Minnesota to verify that they accept pets on May 24th at 9:35 am. We know this as fact because my mom has it on her call log. The woman said yes, they do accept pets. I then got on my computer to reserve my room at that establishment on May 24th at 9:58 am for June 21 to June 24th. My parents also reserved a room for them as well. We as a family arrived at the establishment on June 21 and went to our assigned rooms. My room was 443. Since we had been on the road all day we decided to grab a bite to eat next door. The restaurant was only a few steps away from our hotel so we all walked over. We sat down, ordered our food and my dad got a phone call from the hotel now stating that they have a no pet policy and that everyone was to leave immediately. We cancelled our meal order and walked back to the motel and grabbed our luggage. I have autism and I have never been to a big city like Minneapolis before so of course I had to go with my parents since we were all together. When turning our room keys in the GM and the manager were rude and would not listen to our side of the story. Very unprofessional. When we returned back home I called the Best Western I spoke to the assistant manager, and asked for a refund for my room and she told me she would put the general manager on the phone. I explained my situation to the general manager and she said I couldn't get my refund. My mom tried calling them back and the lady was very rude. She told my mom that there was no managers working there today and when my mom tried to explain the lady got rude and hung up the phone. None of this would have happened if they wouldn't have told us that they don't accept pets. They lied to us and have been rude. They aren't Minnesota nice. read more

Came to visit the MOA and booked Best Western because my boyfriend is a platinum member. Read reviews everywhere but yelp. Yelp is the only reviews I see that mention any kind of bug. Naturally, I stripped my room clean upon arriving to make sure there wasn't a trace of a single bug. It passed my inspection. We booked a king suite (with pool view). I really like the suite. It's spacious with a couch & a fireplace. The tv is kind of small if you're watching from bed rather than the couch. Note to self though to never book a room with a pool view again. As a cesspool for screaming children up until the hours of 11pm, it doesn't make for great sleep for exhausted travelers. The echoes of screaming kids and adults will keep you awake until the pool closes, so don't expect to get to sleep any earlier than 11. Didn't have any problems with the room being ready or getting cleaned. We returned to fresh sheets & towels. Didn't have any problems with staff. In fact, the lady we spoke with in the lobby was incredibly helpful & friendly. Don't personally think the hotel is outdated, however I'm in a suit room so I'm unsure what the rest of the rooms seem like. But my room is practically spotless and looks pretty modern if you ask me. The hotel breakfast does kind of suck though and I was disappointed there was no waffle maker. It's held in the restaurant. The restaurant itself was pretty good, ordered a pizza & shrimp as room service and thought it was good. Pizza was wood-fired. So far the stay has been good but I would have liked to been to sleep a little earlier. read more
