I actually like this place. Very conveniently located downtown. Very modern, arsty, clean and friendly. What more could one want, really? Check in was easy. Comfortable beds. Very modern and welcoming room. My only problem was in the bathroom. While super clean and even having instructions on the shower, I still managed to douse myself unexpectedly and have water spill out of the area. And don't get me started on the square toilet... I know it's nothing major, but it just threw me off. Very convenient parking available also. And price wise not bad. read more

I do wanna say that not all of the staff is friendly.. a few weird interactions Great location expect the fact that it's a cross the street from a homeless shelter and not all those people are friendly But you definitely have a lot of options for food and exploring, but do be mindful. It's a secure facility and we booked the hotel last minute for the Kehlani concert. The front desk staff (i cant remember their name, but beautiful soul) was so friendly and gave us directions to the Armory which I appreciated greatly. Our server Brooke served exactly what we needed and the food was affordable, delicious and perfect. I was a breakfast cook and a barista at one point, I know quality and this place has it at an attainable price. I wanna come back with my family and the kids would love this spot. We tried out three different Radissons on our trip to The Twin Cities, and I have to say, Radisson Red Minneapolis was our favorite. Underground heated parking, attached to the hotel. No need to be exposed to the elements while entering or exiting your car. That is wonderful. Because it SNOWED when we were here. (Mid October!) Now it's going to run you $32 per day, but I think it's totally worth it. The rooms are clean, comfortable and hip. We had a corner suite with two windows, so we received plenty of light. And the windows had two sets of shades, one for privacy (that still admitted plenty of light), and a total blackout shade which was perfect for sleeping. The bed and linens were comfortable and I appreciated the seating area with table and cool light fixtures throughout. Did I mention this place is dog friendly? It seems like dogs are accepted many places in Minneapolis; I see so many out with their owners. Add this hotel to the list that thinks dogs are part of the family! There is a fabulous restaurant/bar attached to the lobby, OUI. Only downside is that it has limited hours. We wanted to grab a drink while we waited to check in (we arrived early) and it wasn't open. The location of the hotel is also great, close to many museums, and a Trader Joe's just around the corner. Also a grassy park a block away where you can walk your pooch. All in all we had a great stay, and this will be our go-to next time we are in Minneapolis! read more

Before arriving at the hotel, I called to ask a question about our room. I was put on hold several times and eventually was hung up on each time. Parking for this hotel was over one city block away - even though their website says they have their own on site parking. One little podium at the entrance for checking into the hotel. Even if there were no customers at the podium, we were rarely greeted. The room was just okay. No doors on the shower and no bathroom counter space. When we left the building, the automatic doors did not open all the way - the workers at the front desk didn't offer to assist and seemed oblivious to the problem. read more

Stayed here for work. location ok, typical downtown. lots of homeless or loitering people but also a big police presence. Hotel is pretty secure. employees we interacted with were very nice. It is clean. The down side is that we found the furniture rather worn and uncomfortable. the desk/table had patches of paint scratched off. we had a king bed and the pillows were the size of a small throw pillow. towels were small. Just not great for us. we ate at the restaurant too, super friendly, fresh food that is your typical hotel fare. plenty of other restaurants for any taste in the area. read more

I would totally stay here again! Not sure if I would recommend it to my more "high maintenance" friends, but I would for sure book here if I were ever in Minneapolis again. Small studio style rooms with modern decor and sustainable electricity and standard hotel amenities. There were refillable shower caddies (which I love). I wish instead of bar soap there would be a caddy for that too, but all supplies were of solid quality and smelled great. Rooms were a little small, but definitely adequate for our one night visit. Beds were comfy, there were plenty of channels on the Ultra HD TV. There is a gym that is key card access 24 hours. It's small, but decent. I went in around 5am and no one was there, but when I came back down at 830, it was pretty full. I didnt find any of the issues the other reviewers mentioned; no weird smells, no pests, my check in was efficient and polite and parking was easy (we paid for the hotel parking in their garage). There isnt room service, but the in house restaurant was decent for to go dinner (it was raining, but there seemed to be solid places to go in the vicinity). This is a dog friendly hotel, but there is little to no green space for dog "business". Just a warning in case your pooch is picky about where they go. read more

My wife & I had such a pleasant stay at the Radisson RED. Our 1st time at the RED made quite an impression. Was greeted with a smile by Imani at the front desk. Since it was late when we checked it, Imani offered some good restaurants on where we could grab our food as we were new to Minneapolis. Imani was super helpful whenever we needed her assistance. Breakfast at the RED was exceptional, given the limited items they had. Conveniently placed right next to the US Bank stadium. Rad RED would be our top pick at Minneapolis moving fwd. read more

This hotel was home for three nights while in downtown MPLS recently on business. The location was very convenient to work, the light rail station, a couple restaurants, and a Caribou Coffee location. The staff was very helpful for anything I needed. This hotel has a quirky feel to it -- definitely not conventional. If that's your thing, you may not like it here. In fact, one of my coworkers stays at another nearby hotel because the Radisson Red is a bit "too eclectic" for him. It's just about your personal taste. The rooms have cool furniture, big TV, lots of electrical outlets, and a comfy bed. The floors are hardwood, so it echoes a bit. It has a gym and some game tables downstairs, as well as a snack cooler case. There is a restaurant, but it doesn't serve lunch. Breakfast was okay. The shower is cool, but there is absolutely not enough counter space...in fact, there was no counter space in my room. Not sure about other rooms. I'd stay here again, though -- I liked it. read more

The tv was incredibly annoying as the internet / streaming service they use cut out EVERY 2 min & was constantly buffering so it made it impossible to watch anything Bath products were never refreshed - the hotel-sized supply you have when you arrive is all you're going to get the entirety of your stay but the bathroom itself had a quirky & funny subliminal message in the grayed out alphabet that spelled out brush, floss & flush when you looked in the mirror......& I say "yes - do that" to all three The heating was also interesting as I had it set on something ridiculous like 78 & the room was still freezing. So for looking for a place that's close in proximity to our offices & the indoor walkways, this was a nice place. But you need to get into your hipster mindset beforehand read more

I think we probably lucked out with this place based on the other reviews but we had a fantastic stay at the Red. Granted, we came on my birthday weekend when there wasn't a Vikings game going on (the stadium is right across the street from the hotel). Everything was nice and quiet, just the way we like it :) Parking was easy - we got the passes with the in/out privileges and I felt that the garage was safe. We also had a corner room with a great view of the city and got to see everyone walking around in their Halloween costumes. The bed was comfy and there was plenty of room for the three of us - me, hubs, and our corgi - to move around. The bathroom was interesting... square toilets are weird. Especially for someone blessed with a booty like yours truly. Water pressure in the shower was great and I loved the toiletries they provided. All of the employees were super friendly and really doted on our dog (that will always give you bonus points, FYI). I felt like all of my needs were met staying here and we would stay here again in a heartbeat. read more

Never heard of Radisson Red or Blu hotels until I was in a bind to find a place to stay while in Minneapolis. Usually stay at the Kimpton Grand, but for some reason that hotel and most others in the area were booked on one of the night's I was there. Found Radisson Red and booked it. It is a hip (but not hipster) hotel in Downtown East just a couple of blocks from the historic Mill Park and Stone Arch Bridge. The hotel staff is so friendly and accommodating. Being from Los Angeles, I'm not used to that sort of nice. They were very helpful and took care of any of your room needs and answered any questions you might've had. The room, like the lobby, is minimalist and nice. Plenty of outlets for all of your devices and free bottled water (you can get more free bottles from the grab-and-go shop in the lobby too). It's also very dog friendly. Ate at the restaurant (Oui Bar) my first night and it was delicious and had to try their Orange Slushie made with Tito's vodka. Can't complain about that. If you're into sports, it's super close, like two blocks close, from the US Bank Stadium, where the Minnesota Vikings play and 1 mile from both the Target Center and Target Field where the Minnesota Timberwolves and Twins play respectively. About the same distance to First Ave (the legendary music venue where Purple Rain was filmed). Pleasantly surprised by this hotel and will very likely stay here if/when I return to Minneapolis. read more

Stayed here through a deal on Expedia. The hotel was cheap so I thought there had to be some catch or it would be dumpy - it was neither. I believe the hotel opened up in December 2016 so it is fairly new. The concept of the hotel is interesting and I've never seen a place like it. It is geared towards a younger set or those young at heart. Unlike other hotels, they refuse to use the color beige in their decor. Instead, the place is decked out in bright red, black, white, etc. it really makes the place pop, in addition to all of the cool graphics that line the walls. There's a great smell to the place oddly and I believe it's the Elixir Black Pepper body wash, shampoo and conditioner they provide in all of their bathrooms. The hotel was super clean and staff was very helpful. You won't find staff walking around in stiff, navy or black suits here. Instead, you'll find young people dressed in their own clothes - denim jackets, jeans and tshirts ready to assist you. This makes the place feel super casual which isn't a bad thing, but it also made it hard to decipher who actually worked there. Perhaps they should wear name tags at least. There's no check in area really. You can check in on your own on the lobby computer or there's a very small desk with a laptop that is usually manned by one of the employees. There's a small restaurant in the lobby called OUI Bar and Kitchen. They have stuff to grab and go but also offer table service. They serve breakfast lunch and dinner and are open 6am-11pm. They also have cocktails. The menu is sort of small and you won't find your average hamburger here but it's not totally out there, I think even a picky eater would be able to find something they like. There's a playroom where you can watch movies or play ping pong etc, I didn't get to take advantage of that. There's a 24 hour gym that's tiny but there if you need it. My only gripe is the parking. There's a handful of spots behind the hotel that are free. However, if they're filled, you'll have to park in their garage located next door. It's $25 per day which isn't cheap but cheaper than most. However, there's no parking attendant. You have to get into the garage by swiping a key that has to be set up for you by an employee. My key didn't work most of the time and I kept having to call the office for them to let me in. It was the only part of the hotel experience I found to be inconvenient. Other than that, this hotel was fantastic and I would definitely stay again. Radisson is definitely on to something with this concept. read more

The only reason why I couldn't give it a 5-star rating is because the hotel alarm clock wasn't reset, and it woke me up at 2AM in the morning :( Maybe housekeeping should check that as part of their "to-do" list when getting a room ready? This hotel looks great in photos and is in a great location, but that is where anything positive ends. We stayed here for a girls' weekend. The first night, we had to ask to move rooms because of the loud music and yelling in the next room. We moved and had a similar (slightly quieter) issue. It turns out the walls are paper thin. You can hear every word of normal volume conversations next door. The tile floors must run through all the rooms because you can feel the people next door walking like they are in your room. The lighting is awful. There are only a couple of lamps and a big window, so after nightfall, you can barely see. The bathroom actually has good lighting, but the walls are made of frosted glass, so if someone uses the bathroom in the night, the whole room illuminates. There is a sink with absolutely zero vanity space and the desk space in the room, where someone would have room to set their toiletries, has no mirror (and awful lighting). Also, the shower has no door, and hasn't been designed well, so the bathroom floor is covered in water. The hallway door doesn't shut without slamming it (which lots of people learned, from the sound of it), the "do not dIsturb" sign is so cleverly hidden in the room number sign we didn't find it until the last day, they do not have adequate parking (we got to pay $30/day to park in an uncovered lot, and it just happened to be during a blizzard), and pretty much nothing makes sense about the layout or furniture in the room. Oh, and we were told we had queen beds, but they were very definitely double beds. We were excited to stay in this new and trendy hotel, but it was extremely disappointing. I would never even consider staying here again, and have warned my friends and family against it as well. read more

I get it. This is supposed to be a cool modern hipster hotel, modeled after the trend in European hospitality making its way throughout the US. But there is an issue. On the side of the building in huge white letters against a red background reads, "WE ARE YOUR BIGGEST FAN." The issue with this brand promise is that when staying here you don't feel like Radisson Red is a fan at all, let alone my BiGGEST FAN. To no fault of the staff, the Raddison Red decided to strip down one of the most important components in their industry: hospitality. As a business traveler, spending time away from home, staying at one hotel after another in three different states in one week, you need all the hospitality you can get to take your mind off of missing your family. The little things become extremely important. This morning, I woke up with an enormous headache. I asked the front desk where they sold Tylenol. The polite receptionist replied, "We don't sell those things here. There is a gas station three block a away." So, I trek four blocks to a gas station at 6:30am for over the counter meds. The whole walk to and fro the gas station all I could think of was, "How do they not have a little kiosk or shelf that has these things?" Prior to staying at the Red, I was in Omaha at a Holiday Inn Express. The offered a free breakfast, happy hour, and has a small little shop with anything I needed to make my stay more enjoyable, including Tylenol. I was bummed that my company booked me there but after staying there, I felt the Holiday Inn Express hotel and staff went above and beyond to ensure I felt right at home. A cool and modern hotel means nothing if it is missing hospitality. If I had one word to describe the Red, it would be "cold." But if you're into that kind of thing, go for it. If you want a hostel experience, then the Red is your place. I recommend a Blu or a Holiday Inn Express. read more

'Impressed" is the word I would use to define the night my husband and I stayed at this hotel. Make mighty sure that you bring your phone charger with you because everything from checking into our room, to riding the elevator, to communicating with their wonderful staff was via our phone. This place is very current while surprisingly comfortable. Even the picnic like table and different more cleanable plastic like upright chairs in our room were actually useful-no icky dirty fabric sofas. Our room had a solid-like clean wood like flooring-no carpeting, great lighting with dimmer switches, air circulation that we never had to turn off or on- a first ever in a hotel room! The only complaint with our room is that the shower control was a bit confusing to use.. and I don't think I am that dumb! I just don't want to work that hard to work a fancy spigot at 8 am in the morning-just give me water. The main floor Oui Bar & Kitchn surprised us and we had both dinner and breakfast here-very limited menu-but glad we gave it a try. It was snowing out..so staying "in" we thought was a bummer but turned out to be fantastic. The service people were super relaxed and friendly. Sari our server loved our toy poodle-who enjoyed our visit to this hotel maybe as much or more than we did. If you are going to a game at new U.S. Bank Vikings Stadium-I would stay here. read more

Its modern, chic, cool, however, my experience wasn't the best. I checked in around midnight to find out they had already checked somebody in on my reservation. Later, found out it was someone who had the last name starting with the same alphabet. Hello !! After about 45 minutes, I was checked in. Not the best time to wait in the lobby and let them figure out the reason. The breakfast was served in a to-go box and a plastic fork when I am seated in the dining area. The general manager Daniel Dedecker made what was already a difficult experience for us much worse. Our catalytic converter was stolen from our vehicle after the staff placed us in their lot at the furthest parking spot from the building, despite an almost completely empty lot. When we expressed frustration about our car being damaged in their lot, we were met with no sympathy and a dismissive attitude from the general manager. In order to have police visit the scene, we needed to confirm that there were security cameras on the premises. Despite a visible camera near our car and signage stating that the premises was under 24 hr surveillance, Daniel Dedecker refused to confirm that the police would be able to access the security footage. We asked to have our room comped for the negative experience and Daniel Dedecker refused, at one point even implying that we were lying about what happened. We experienced a basic lack of customer service, resistance, and a rude attitude during a very stressful situation for us. We will not return to this establishment and will advise any others not to do so. read more

The hotel looks great online but once you have arrived you will find that the hallways are filled with a strong pet urine oder and if you're allergic to fleas or dander you will suffer. I have been sick from the oder and allergens since arriving. They don't have a parking service or any services for that matter. The rooms have a shower product caddy but they don't supply products, the tiny refrigerator does not get cold and this is also a travesty since you will not have access to any room service. The downstairs restaurant was also booked so we could not order, with the lack of available options in the area for food this was just one more reason this hotel is not a choice a person should make when looking for someplace to stay. The topper was zero movie channels and internet and cellular service that drops continually. I really enjoyed my stay at the Radisson, enough so that I felt the need to write a review! Price: I managed to get a pretty good price on my stay, beating out airbnbs in awkward areas or nearby hotels. Location: Visiting from NYC and being incapable of driving, the Radisson was a perfect hub for my stay, allowing me to use the public transit. It was a few blocks from the Blue train line from the airport as well as a few blocks from every bus route I ended up using during my stay. Allowed easy access to the Mall of America, Minnesota State fair and some breweries and restaurants I wanted to check out. Decor: The hotel is extremely clean and sleek looking. I've seen complaints from other reviews citing it as trying too hard or looking "too hipster" - being from New York, I can comfortably say this is nowhere near as Hipstery as a lot of Brooklyn. I felt the Hotel came off as a quirky "something new" vibe. But honestly, the sleek design just reinforced the idea that it was clean. Which is really what I look for in a hotel's decor. Service: The staff member at the front desk was super helpful during check-in, printing some documents I needed printed, and checkout. There's an app and automated kiosk available that I didn't use. Gym: My stay was filled with Minnesotan fried foods so made good use of the gym. Few used the space while I was there so it was a nice quiet time utilizing the stationary bikes and treadmills. Very clean, no foul gym odor. Room: The room was great - bed was probably the easiest I've ever slept in a hotel. Large television was great - hooked up my Amazon Firestick and was able to catch the Game of Thrones finale in great quality. Room had the essentials - ironing board, mini fridge, glasses for drinks, shampoo/body wash in the bathroom. Only mishap during my stay was that I had "do not disturb" up, left for lunch, came back and the tag was flipped, with cleaning staff having gone through my room. Wasn't a fan of that but it only happened once so I'm not upset - for all I know someone else in the hotel could have flipped it as a prank. Absolutely fabulous hotel!! We booked a room off Priceline for a great price...and we didn't have any problems with check in as we arrived. We were very impressed right from when we entered! They don't have a typical deal check in, but use an iPad. At this time you can also link a downloaded app to use as your room key from your phone instead of the regular key...cool idea! The app also lets you request towels, soap, etc from the staff, as well as questions and whatnot. I love this modern concept from regular hotels! The room was AWESOME!! Again, very modern. We had a king room, which also had a nice table, able to seat about 6 people. This was perfect for having our friends over before we went out! A lot more useful than the usual chair that no one sits inside the regular hotels. All in all...check this place out...worth your time!!!! read more

This hotel is very contemporary which I liked. The bed was really comfortable- I slept great. I think they try too hard to be hip. Everything is super hip and over designed to the point of being annoying. There is no front desk. There was a casually dressed 20-something kid with a laptop who I mistook for a millennial hanging out in a hotel lobby. There are projections on the floor for what I don't know and the "do not disturb" sign for your room is a little slide thing that I would have never seen had not my friend known about it. The bathroom light is way too bright and turns on even if you don't want it flooding light into the room. Overall though it was in a great location, quiet and super beds. read more
