    Executive lounge evening snacks
    Brian S.

Really nice Hilton hotel and one of the very few in the United States that has a legitimate executive lounge weekdays with evening snacks with beer/wine and full breakfast in the morning. Absolutely my go-to hotel in the twin cities.

    Tea with no honey.

3 stars for this hotel. Clean large king size room. Shower and bathroom ok. The shower head was not strong enough with small streams of water and no way to adjust it. Wanted to do laundry and for a hotel this size, they had NO laundry room. Ordered room service in the morning of mushroom/onion omelette and French toast with tea. Breakfast was so-so and worst there was no condiments! I had NO ketchup for my potatoes. I had NO honey for my tea. NO Jam for the toast. They give you the bare minimals here. Very sad.

    From Philly to Minneapolis!

We loved this hotel! From the friendly staff and modern décor, to the free shuttle and super comfortable beds. Our room was super quiet and felt very private. I enjoyed the hot tub our first night in. I was solo there for the most part. Another guest came but hopped out quickly stating, "this is more like a warm tub." I liked the temperature, but I'm not fussy. The hotel houses OLIVE and THE CHOPHOUSE - woo hoo! We ordered room service breakfast b/f hitting the road back to Philly (BOOOO!) I had Irish oatmeal and one side scrambled egg. Holy good God - one of the best eggs I'd EVER had! Probably local farm? My friend had an omelet and toast. Also a side of fruit. She loved hers as well. Lastly, we loved their coffee - I have NEVER liked coffee from a hotel Kcup maker! I'd stay again in a heartbeat!

Room was very clean, which is very important during pandemic. It's a well maintained hotel however the design and equipment just way too old. There's no outlet near night stand which is very inconvenient to charge phone. The TV seem to be purchased when flat screen first camera out, resolution is not very good. Shower was leaking , the water dripping sound was very annoying. Overall, an OK hotel to stay for quick nap then catch the flight.

Lobby area during Celebration 2017 weekend (April 20-23)

For openers, I'm a bit biased when it comes to Hilton properties as I tend to always book at Hilton. The level of service tends to be consistent from property to property and as a Hilton Honors member I get a few membership perks. As I was planning this trip, it was a no brainer as in addition to being a Hilton property, this location was listed as one of the 'official hotels' for Celebration 2017. All that said, this Hilton property did not disappoint; I was very pleased with my stay. This location is either relatively new or was recently remodeled as it is in excellent shape. From the hotel shuttle bus driver to the house keeping staff, everyone was super friendly. Upon arriving at the airport, the shuttle bus was there within minutes. The driver was very engaging when it came to sharing information about the Minneapolis area. When I mentioned I was in town for Celebration 2017 she suggested other unique places to check out to compliment my visit. Once at the hotel she collected lots of flyers on the area and shared them with me; many which had been created for that weekend. The front desk staff was very welcoming and when I mentioned that I needed a late checkout on my departure day it was taken care of immediately with no hassle. The décor in the lobby area has a modern feel to it while still being inviting. And to my liking and in conjunction with the weekend the lobby area had Prince music playing the entire weekend. On top of that there was certain spaces which had been decorated with purple lighting. What a nice touch considering the significance of the weekend. As reserved, my room had a king bed and was clean. Consistent with the lobby décor, the room décor had a modern touch with graphic artwork on the walls. The television was a fairly large (for a hotel room) flat screen which functioned perfectly. The hotel has a couple of great dining spots located on the first floor; Bloomington ChopHouse and Olive Lounge (hotel bar). Due to my busy schedule I never got the chance to dine Bloomington ChopHouse but I did enjoy a few cocktails in Olive Lounge. If dining at the hotel isn't for you, there are several restaurants within walking distance of the hotel property. I did manage to find time to check out the gym which is also located on the first floor. Consistent with the rest of the hotel, the gym is very modern and has the typical cardio equipment; treadmill and elliptical trainers. It also has a nice selection of weight equipment which included both dumbbells and machines. Additionally, there are several benches available for weight lifting. This Hilton property is conveniently located and seemed to be within a ~20 minute Uber/Lyft ride from most places. This included trips to downtown Minneapolis, Paisley Park and many other spots that were on my list visit. It is also very near the Mall of America; so close that the hotel shuttle bus makes frequent to/from there. Unfortunately, due to my busy schedule I was unable to check out the Mall of America but hope to do so on my next visit. When I'm back in the area (with a similar agenda) this will be my hotel choice. A BIG thank you to all the hotel staff; you did a superb job in handling the number of people (and our crazy requests) the entire weekend.

Blooming location. We stayed 4 nights to see the Twin cities, the Mall of America and snow. The staff were all very nice and helpful. The shuttle drivers were safe drivers, friendly and knowledgable. Don't ya know! We ate breakfast in the restaurant once at it was delicious with perfect table service. Our room was tidied daily and housekeeping was kind to bring anything more needed. We had cocktails in the bar twice and again friendly service and nice atmosphere. We took the shuttle from the hotel to the Mall of America and could catch the light rail to downtown Minnesota and St Paul. We ate often in the Executive lounge, just breakfast and it was very good, standard fair for groups. There is a Starbucks in the lobby-yum!! Only negative would be there is no set routine for the shuttle to the mall or airport so you need to plan and get on the schedule.

When I made the reservation the Hilton site claimed the rooms had a Keurig coffee maker but when I got to the room it didn't have one. My first (and likely last) Home2 experience…read more Have you ever noticed how a poor first impression will make every subsequent flaw seem that much worse? So it was with my recent stay at the Home2 Suites in Bloomington, MN. I tried to check in via the Hilton app but got neither a response nor a virtual key, so I went to the front desk where the front desk clerk, Natalie, was very helpful. She said that the app sometimes "seems to get overwhelmed" and gave me two keycards. Opening the door to my room on the top floor, I was greeted by a wave of hot, humid air. The thermostat was set to 65 but it was 75 in the room. I also noticed the footrest by the sofa, which was badly worn and had what looked like a cigarette burn. It could have been sitting on the side of a road with a "Free!" sign attached to it. Back down to the front desk where Natalie explained the thermostats were motion-activated ("more sustainable," she said) but told me how I could override that, which I did. After setting up my computer at the work station, I sat down into a task chair that was far too low to allow me to work comfortably. I thought an adjustment would fix things, but unfortunately it was already as high as it would go. Back down to the front desk where the clerk apologized, but said all their other task chairs were the same style, so it wasn't likely that changing out the chair would help. Sigh. Cranking out a little work before hitting the sack, I found two documents I wanted to print out, so I copied them to my thumb drive and headed down to the "business center," only to find that the hotel had put physical locks on each and every USB port. Again, the front desk clerk apologized but wasn't able to solve the issue for me. My work-around was to email the documents to myself and print them from my email but I really don't like the security risk of logging onto (and putting my passwords into) public computers; that's why I carry the USB drive. Another sigh. Morning came, along with a welcome a shower before breakfast. However, the water saving feature reduced the stream to little more than a trickle - a trickle I stood under far longer than if I'd had a robust stream of water that would have allowed me to be in and out quickly and still feel completely clean. Heading to the sink to brush my teeth, I spotted someone's hair in the sink. Long and black, I knew it wasn't mine. The included breakfast on the first day was the high point of my brief stay. Good selection of both hot and cold items, and a chance to see the other guests. That made it pretty clear that this hotel (and probably the Home2 brand) skews younger. And the way they label things around the hotel reflects that. Three cereal choices were labeled "Sweet," (Fruit Loops) "Heathier" (Raisin Bran) and "Healthiest!" (Granola) We can debate whether high-fat, high calorie granola is really healthier than raisin bran (especially when served with skim milk) but to me, the labels felt like a parent telling their child what's best for them. Maybe it's a generational thing, but I know enough to make - and own - my own choices. The location is convenient to lots of shops, stores and restaurants and not far from Highway 35W, so in all, it's probably fine if you're just on a vacation or only need to check a couple of emails at the end of the day but if you're a serious road warrior and often have to use the hotel as your de facto office, this one isn't the place you'll want to be.

On another occasion I brought up to staff that there was dirt being tracked in the stairway and onto the landing area of the carpet and it was taken care of by the time I got back a couple hours later. The room, one bedroom, was nicely laid out. Bath vanity nightlight is a nice touch. Nice, hot water too. It was really cool to have two types of pillows on the bed and the pillowcases actually tell you if they're firm or soft. Bed was very comfortable. I found the room to be quiet other than a little road noise. In the little kitchen, it would be nice to have something other than powdered creamer for coffee (could have the little containers of creamer that are available at the breakfast counter. And the only spoons were large spoons. Breakfast had some nice options with staff constantly refreshing items. The make your own waffles are always a treat. Only a couple of negatives. The Monday-Wednesday "social" is a nice idea, but it's really just one or two little nibbles. Nothing else. And the with bathroom fan is very noisy. I did mention this to staff. Thanks to Hotels.com, where I booked my hotel room at the Hampton Inn Bloomington East. Hampton Inn is a good name hotel brand that's owned by Hilton hotels, I believe. Fast forward when I arrived here via Uber from the Mall of America after a day of shopping and things. I stayed here for a night and it was comfortable and pleasant. I arrived here around 4pm on a Friday afternoon and got checked in. The front desk counter Service here was pretty good and got checked in within five minutes. The check out service was non existent since I left the hotel around 6am and there was a hotel key lockbox, so I just dropped the hotel key in there and checked out the complementary hotel breakfast before I was on my way. It was only one night and enjoyed a few of the hotel's amenities, namely the ice machine and the aforementioned complimentary breakfast. I choose the hotel because of its proximity to Normandale Lake Park, which was around a mile walk from the hotel. I enjoyed the lobby and it was fresh and clean. The hotel room I got was a king bed. I probably paid about $149/night but that was okay, since I wanted to be close to the park. The hotel room itself was good and typical. It was clean and had all the basic amenities most hotels in the industry has. It was a typical hotel room that met expectations and was a good stay. Everything worked in the room, including the TV and the shower. No problems during my stay and it was good. The overall experience here at this Hampton Inn hotel in Bloomington, MN was good and nice. I feel like Hampton Inn is a good place to choose for your hotel needs. The brand is owned by Hilton, I believe, so you'll be in good hands. The room itself had a mini fridge and a microwave in the room. Getting else was standard. It is cool to be lounging in the room, eating dinner, while watching TV. Something cool and nice about it while traveling away from home. The room itself was clean and everything worked the way it should be. The complimentary breakfast was hit or miss. It just depends on what you enjoy in a good breakfast. I did enjoy unlimited self service orange juice though. Had about 5 cups of it before I left the hotel to Normandale Lake Park. The king bed was quite nice and very comfortable. Got in a decent amount of sleep and felt moderately Refreshed for the day ahead. Definitely enjoyed the stay here at this Hampton Inn location in Bloomington, MN. Whether your stay in Minneapolis is business or pleasure, consider this Hampton Inn hotel to be your place to stay and thrive. While Hampton Inn does cover the basics of a full service hotel, it doesn't have everything like many of the fancy ones do. Prices here are reasonable per night and the location is in a nice neighborhood away from the downtown area of Minneapolis. This Hampton Inn hotel is located in Minneapolis, MN. It's about a 15 ish minute drive from the Mall of America in Bloomington. Like many hotels in the industry, they accept major credit cards thru direct bookings on their website or through 3rd party websites like Hotels.com. They are physically located at 1234 Main Street, Bloomington, MN. As far as parking goes, they have parking here for hotel guests. Not sure if they do long term parking for other people but probably a money make for certain. Not sure about Minneapolis' public transportation options, but best bet would be to check out what routes are needed to arrive at this hotel, whether it's coming from the airport or wherever your origin destination may be. The hotel is in a nice quiet neighborhood of Minneapolis, so you can be sure that you have a good reason to come to this Hampton Inn and have an enjoyable stay, whenever the need arises. Consider the Hampton Inn hotel as your home away from home when you visit the Hampton Inn. It was a nice stay and hope to return again when my future travels permit me to do so. 5.0 stars for the overall experience, namely the location to Normandale Lake Park. 4.0 stars for the service and 4.5 stars for the room comfort.
