Personal, hand-written welcome letter from Mr. & Mrs. Bhat.
    Rey C.

We had a pleasant 2nd visit back to Newberg and our last visit in August was just as nice. Our visit may have not materialized if I had not got in contact with the friendly people I will mention below that made our trip possible. Our issues began when my instincts were telling me to give the Travelodge hotel (where I had originally booked our accomodations) a call and so I did. This was a day before Thanksgiving; a day before we were about to head-out on 10.5 hour road trip going north on the I-5. During my original reservation process, I suppose I had forgotten to select while booking that we were going to bring our little doggie Mr. Tuckers with us. I confirmed with the receptionist to see if Mr. Tuckers was on the list and he was not. The situation suddenly turned frantic when the receptionist mentioned that no more dog-friendly rooms were available and they were all spoken for. The receptionist then told me that she would get in contact the motel manager to see what could be done. Time was of the essence as they would say and I was worried that we wouldn't have a place to stay so I quickly went on the web to see if I could find any last-minute hotels around the area. I contacted Best Western and spoke on the phone with Beth and she was very friendly, undertanding and helpful. They had one pet-friendly room left and Beth advised not to book the room in case we were allowed to let Mr. Tuckers stay with us back at the Travelodge room. Had I booked the Best Western room, then canceled, I would have incurred a cancellation fee since the 24hr window for cancellations had already surpassed. This all took place before 5pm in the evening. The cutoff time was 4pm. When I mentioned to Beth that we had issues with our Travelodge reservations, she mentioned that the manager Mr. Bala Bhat happened to manage both hotels. About 1hr later, I get a call from Mr. Bala Bhat and he quickly assured me not to worry and that the accomodations for our family were already being taken care of. Our new plan was to relocate to the pet-friendy room at the Best Western just down the street. The pricing would remain the same as our Travelodge accomodations. Man what a sigh of relief! Mr. Bhat and I had a warm, pleasant, happy and welcoming conversation over the phone. He told me not to worry and that everything would be taken care of. His words over the phone took such a burden off my shoulders. When we arrived at the hotel in the late evening the next day, I checked in and was greeted by Ben at the front desk. Ben was kind and welcoming. He mentioned all the details about the hotel, what time was breakfast being served, where to locate the fitness room and mentioned the pool wasn't going to be opened for another 3 weeks due to COVID. After receiving 2 keycards, I went to park our van behind the hotel. There is plenty of parking and also a grass area where Mr. Tuckers can do his business. Our room was upstairs and the staircase leading up to there was super-wide and easy to climb to our room. It is very close to the side-rear entrance. When we entered the room, we discovered a bottle of Brut Champagne and a personal note hand-written from Mr. Bhat himself wishing us a Happy Thanksgiving. This truly made our family's day. Mr. Bhat didnt' really need to do this kind gesture for us, but he went out of his way to do so. The room was clean, very quiet, relaxing and we all slept well. I didn't have the opportunity to thank Mr. Bhat in person for his kindness but I did meet his wife during our initial visit at the Travelodge back in August. She was equally as kind when I checked-in at the front desk after mentioning we just completed a 10.5 hour road trip. She offered me a bottled-water. The say that First impressions are everlasting and Mr & Mrs. Bhat showed this to me and my family. We will be staying at this location again for sure including the Travelodge knowing that Mr. and Mrs. Bhat will take care of our needs everytime we come back and visit.

    Very comfortable and ambient

Very clean classic Best Western, Housekeeping is amazing and very caring and nice literally felt like I was at home. Front desk are very nice and welcoming and always smiling, I would definitely come back over and over again, the location is beautiful and the whole place is well kept. Me and my Wife loved our stay and are planning to come back again in a couple of months !

Overpriced for what you get. Pool wasn't even open due to Covid which was pretty disappointing. Should've booked at travelodge.

So who knows how long that was there for. The floors were disgusting and not vacuumed, clearly! The bottom of my feet were filthy and needed to be washed off before going to bed. The walls had strange patch and paint jobs. This just showed how dirty the walls were. Just gross. Thank goodness I travel with extra security measures because the latch to the door was missing (see photo). However, the safe was secure! So secure it died and we couldn't get into it. We explained that there was time sensitive medication that needed to be taken in the morning, but they refused to call the emergency number to have someone come out that night. We also told them we needed to leave by 8 AM and they explained that the locksmith wouldn't be there until 9:30 AM. For as horrible as the owner was, the staff trying to help us was great! They did go the extra mile to help, but the owner put so many barriers in their way. The locksmith did get it unlocked by 11:30 AM. Breakfast was very poor. The toaster was nearly working and only toasted one side. The food wasn't put out on time and wasn't refilled. The pool was gross and a shade of green that you just don't see in nature. We didn't dare even go into the gym! Bottom line, don't believe what you see on line. That photographer deserves a raise!!! The good part was the window blackout shade. No light came through and that was awesome! The staff were sweet and tried their best.

Their common areas include a dining room, a living room, a small library (with books and games) and TV room, as well as front and back porches. We originally booked the Oregon Trail room, but Kristin offered to upgrade us to the Oregon Coast room at a discounted rate. We chose the Oregon Coast room for the private balcony and stunning views over the valley. The room was lovely and comfortable. Toiletries, robes, and slippers are all provided for the guests. Our room also had an electric fireplace, which was nice. There was no TV, but that wasn't an issue for us. This is their handicapped accessible room, so there were extra shower and toilet seat handle bars. We stayed two nights and enjoyed two amazing breakfasts prepared by Ayelet. Over the two days, we were treated to blueberry French Toast, a poached pear, homemade bread, scrambled eggs, diced potatoes, blueberry scones, and a baked apple. Plus a selection of their homemade jelly/jam. A lot of the ingredients were sourced right from the property. While we ate, Ayelet asked us about our plans for the day, and she offered super helpful suggestions on what to do, where to go, what to eat. She even gave us printed maps! Some other noteworthy items: you get one free T-shirt with your stay; you have a choice of breakfast at 8 or 9 am; there are coolers, sunscreen, and sunglasses you can borrow; they ask your breakfast beverage of choice and usually have it out in the dining room an hour before your breakfast time; there are always homemade cookies, water, and glasses by the mini fridge; you can buy their homemade jam/jelly as well as T-shirts, mugs, coasters, etc. We loved our stay here. We were lucky enough to stay for two nights at The DreamGiver's Inn, and I was so regretful for not making the trip a little longer. This place is truly a dream. The drive from Portland wasn't bad at all (under an hour!) and was really quite beautiful as we made our way. While driving the winding roads filled with fall colors, we spotted the Inn, thanks to its charming shade of red. We checked in around 4pm, and Grace was there to greet us and help us to our room. She was an incredibly welcoming host, and made the experience even more special. We stayed in the "Grace" room, and it was absolutely gorgeous and so relaxing. The room had a huge window seat, and the first couple of hours we were there, we sat there watching the rain and relaxing. Grace had all the makings for hot tea downstairs, which was a perfect match for the moment. We had so many plans that we canceled just so we could sit on that damn window seat and enjoy the view! Mornings at The DreamGivers Inn are the stuff dreams are made of. We usually wandered downstairs around 8:30pm to get some coffee and enjoy one of Grace's baked goods... she made the most amazing banana bread, lemon blueberry scones, and the list goes on. It's a perfect time to wake up slowly and soak in the views of rolling hills, vineyards, and trees. She had breakfast out every morning at 9am, and holy cow, was it amazing. We got to enjoy yogurt parfaits (made with the best local ingredients), egg scrambles, vegetables from the garden, and homemade jams. Can you see why we never wanted to leave? While some would shy away from going to Oregon during the rainy season, the weather ended up being a perfect match for the cozy atmosphere this beautiful sanctuary provided. I cannot recommend this spot enough! Thank you for a couple incredibly relaxing and peaceful days.
