Very clean. Super comfortable. Truly had an excellent night sleep because the bed was the right combination of firm and comfortable the pillows were high-quality allowing for some give while providing support. Not the fake fluffy kind that offer zero support. More spacious than expected. Outlets in all the right places everywhere you need them without having to move furniture. Fantastic sitting area for people who want to keep working, separated from sleep area by half wall that gives the impression of privacy as well as more personal space and mental freedom. Beds were so comfortable, and the pillows were real instead of the fake balloon type things that don't give any support while you sleep. And they give you four per bed which lets you stack as needed. Just really great sleep experience. Air conditioning was quiet white noise that contributed to the coolness comfortable enough to get a good nights sleep on a hot summer night. Fantastic. There is a really clean indoor pool that is maintained exceptionally well as well as a hot tub. Pretty wonderful at the end of a long day. A hot breakfast, not just a continental breakfast but one with proteins and pancakes are included in this day. Outstanding value. Bala and other staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. read more

We have stayed here three times, and each time has been fine except for this last time. To preface, we spent $400 for two nights. Honestly... I think the photos do it justice, but here you go the backstory. We were promised an early check-in, and the room wasn't ready. The room had to get the carpets deep cleaned, so they had the heat on high and two fans to dry the carpet. The room was probably 95 degrees, and it was 90 degrees in Newberg that day. They said there wasn't a reason for the carpets being cleaned, but as you can see from the pictures, the carpets still weren't cleaned even when we were there. Each time we walked, our feet or socks turned black. We told management, and she told us that she would contact the GM, but she never did, and I had to contact them after three days of no response. I spoke to the GM, and he was very friendly and helpful, but the discount did not a lot to how awful our experience was. read more

Wow - what an all around super place to say! Squeaky clean too! I actually felt comfortable walking around in my bare feet. Yes, I know it's a new facility BUT still! Beds were super comfy with lightweight comforter and fluffy heavenly pillows. The staff was very helpful, efficient and friendly. The breakfast was much better than your standard continental affaire. The decorations, pool and outside fire pits added to friendly and fun atmosphere. We will definitely be back. Great job Best Western Newberg!! read more

The electricity went out this morning so I had to pack up and leave again... This the second time I stayed here... the first time was no water... the second time I've had to leave... the first time was worse! To top that off I ate the so called breakfast and then I got very sick ... threw up a few hours later and I am still sick!! FAKE FOOD! We had a pleasant 2nd visit back to Newberg and our last visit in August was just as nice. Our visit may have not materialized if I had not got in contact with the friendly people I will mention below that made our trip possible. Our issues began when my instincts were telling me to give the Travelodge hotel (where I had originally booked our accomodations) a call and so I did. This was a day before Thanksgiving; a day before we were about to head-out on 10.5 hour road trip going north on the I-5. During my original reservation process, I suppose I had forgotten to select while booking that we were going to bring our little doggie Mr. Tuckers with us. I confirmed with the receptionist to see if Mr. Tuckers was on the list and he was not. The situation suddenly turned frantic when the receptionist mentioned that no more dog-friendly rooms were available and they were all spoken for. The receptionist then told me that she would get in contact the motel manager to see what could be done. Time was of the essence as they would say and I was worried that we wouldn't have a place to stay so I quickly went on the web to see if I could find any last-minute hotels around the area. I contacted Best Western and spoke on the phone with Beth and she was very friendly, undertanding and helpful. They had one pet-friendly room left and Beth advised not to book the room in case we were allowed to let Mr. Tuckers stay with us back at the Travelodge room. Had I booked the Best Western room, then canceled, I would have incurred a cancellation fee since the 24hr window for cancellations had already surpassed. This all took place before 5pm in the evening. The cutoff time was 4pm. When I mentioned to Beth that we had issues with our Travelodge reservations, she mentioned that the manager Mr. Bala Bhat happened to manage both hotels. About 1hr later, I get a call from Mr. Bala Bhat and he quickly assured me not to worry and that the accomodations for our family were already being taken care of. Our new plan was to relocate to the pet-friendy room at the Best Western just down the street. The pricing would remain the same as our Travelodge accomodations. Man what a sigh of relief! Mr. Bhat and I had a warm, pleasant, happy and welcoming conversation over the phone. He told me not to worry and that everything would be taken care of. His words over the phone took such a burden off my shoulders. When we arrived at the hotel in the late evening the next day, I checked in and was greeted by Ben at the front desk. Ben was kind and welcoming. He mentioned all the details about the hotel, what time was breakfast being served, where to locate the fitness room and mentioned the pool wasn't going to be opened for another 3 weeks due to COVID. After receiving 2 keycards, I went to park our van behind the hotel. There is plenty of parking and also a grass area where Mr. Tuckers can do his business. Our room was upstairs and the staircase leading up to there was super-wide and easy to climb to our room. It is very close to the side-rear entrance. When we entered the room, we discovered a bottle of Brut Champagne and a personal note hand-written from Mr. Bhat himself wishing us a Happy Thanksgiving. This truly made our family's day. Mr. Bhat didnt' really need to do this kind gesture for us, but he went out of his way to do so. The room was clean, very quiet, relaxing and we all slept well. I didn't have the opportunity to thank Mr. Bhat in person for his kindness but I did meet his wife during our initial visit at the Travelodge back in August. She was equally as kind when I checked-in at the front desk after mentioning we just completed a 10.5 hour road trip. She offered me a bottled-water. The say that First impressions are everlasting and Mr & Mrs. Bhat showed this to me and my family. We will be staying at this location again for sure including the Travelodge knowing that Mr. and Mrs. Bhat will take care of our needs everytime we come back and visit. read more

This hotel should train all the others. I just finished a solo three day trip over a very busy weekend and I cannot think of a single thing that this hotel could have done better in terms of customer service, cleanliness and promised amenities. I got into town around 12:00, so my room was not yet ready. The lovely woman at the front desk checked me in, so that I did not have to come back to do it later. She gave me a good recommendation about a nice town to visit while I waited. When I was able to get into my room, it was clean and comfortable. The television offered casting, but my iPhone was not connecting. When I went to talk to the front desk, they had Roku devices and I was able to connect to all of my streaming services. I used the guest laundry and I found the location to downtown Newberg to be very convenient. I travel a lot and I have stayed in all types of hotels. A pet peeve is feeling unwelcome or like a nuisance and amenities that do not work. This hotel went over and above in my opinion. My room was cleaned every day, and used toiletries refreshed. The room is nice for a Best Western, and the service is well above for any chain or boutique. read more

Front desk person is amazing! She's very accommodating in every sense of the word. She's that way on the phone as well. 1 sparkly star for her. We needed a place that was near Oregon Clinic and you could almost walk there from here. We also needed a pet friendly place so 2 stars for that! The room was clean, quiet, easy to get in and out without a hassle. Also lots of opportunities for my dog to decide where he should go see a man about a horse. ;) This hotel is pretty old otherwise I'd have given them 5 stars. The bed was not old though! Clean, quiet, comfortable bed, easy access to wine country - check, check, check. We came in on a Sunday afternoon and the place was very quiet and had it all to ourselves. We booked it as a crash pad for wine country, and it fit the bill! The bed was very clean and comfortable and A/C worked great. The room is no frills, but that's all was hoping for and expecting. Couldn't have been happier with our stay. Originally we were looking for a pet friendly hotel and this was available, but in the end didn't end up taking my dog. ( She stayed home with dad) . Went to visit daughter for Thanksgiving and it was perfect. Close to where we needed and the grandkids were able to come swim and we all had so much fun. This place is the BEST! Another motel had a mix up with our reservations for this weekend and we weren't sure where we were going to stay. We called this hotel and they said "let us take care of you!" They found a way to get us a room for the entire weekend (we have a dog, so there were limited room which we could stay). You walk inside through the back door, going upstairs, you can still smell the new rug smell, but the design looks like 'throw up', maybe the design is fireworks, but whatever! I got work to do, on the web, before dinner, so we turned on the heater. Each time the heater went off, my arms starts to get chills, since the blower/air fan was right next to where they have the table/chair. We turned the heater back up to 74, and turned it down when we went to bed. The bathroom corner, where they have the coffee maker (without the carafe) is dirty & dusty. The bathroom light/vent switch, when it's on is very noisy, it's like you have a washer/dryer going on. The pillows, are like 4 child's size pillows on a king size bed, 7" high thick. Yes, I forgot to bring my own pillow, it would have helped me write more positive about this place. But the pillows, wide enough for one head. We only stayed for 1 night. The following morning, we're running late for my event, but breakfast is included. They do not have TAKE OUT CONTAINERS, so we grabbed whatever we can, that can be eaten when we have a chance to have a seat & enjoy. The yogurt, expiration date is today, and it didn't look like yogurt, when I opened it. Positive, so I'm giving this one an extra star, the lady in the hospitality room, was very nice to me, to help me bring my plate covered plate breakfast, outside the door, while my husband bring the car around, it was raining! She also helped my husband clean up the mess of cereal/milk that he planned on gulping down in seconds time, but he didn't made it to his table. Thank you, who ever you are! read more

Traveling to check out schools. Got a room here at the last moment. Actually couldn't get any of Amy electronic devices to work, so I called for a reservation. Very friendly person on the phone. When we arrived, the clerk was working with a couple ahead of us. I think they were having problems and the clerk was doing her best to help, and apologized to me for taking awhile....I didn't think she need to apologize, but maybe she ruins into rude people who like to complain about delays. Anyhow, was checked in and sent off to our room. Room was nice and our stay was enjoyable. Breakfast was good....of course it wasn't the cooked to order omelets I get at the Embassy Suites, but it was a Best Western. They actually had microwaveable crescent rooms with sausage and eggs, which were pretty tasty. If my kids end up going to,school here, I would stay at this location again. read more

There is nothing special to report. I would have hoped for a bit more considering my partner and I opted for the kind bed jacuzzi suite. Yes, the jacuzzi was nice, yes it was a good size room, but the linens were worn, neither the bed nor the pillows were not very comfortable, and the towels were rough and fraying. The continental breakfast was OK. I was happy to see the "make-your-own-waffles," but the spread was nothing special and the constant, loud stream of "junk news" headlines was obnoxious. My partner and I surmised that was a method to prevent patrons from spending too much time in there. Five different kinds of cereal, oatmeal w/6 toppings, a mini fridge with soy milk, yogurt, peeled hard boiled eggs, and microwaveable breakfast burritos. A juice machine, breads for toasting, donuts, bagels, danish and packaged muffins. Now to the hot food bar; little Denver omelette, hash brown patties, biscuits, gravy, scrambled eggs with bacon bits, and sausage links! And the price per night through hotels.com was only $80.00 per night. At least for one night on January 28, 2019. I was a little hesitant about staying at a Best Western in a town I knew nothing about. I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was clean, friendly and accommodating. I had car trouble and Sandy at the desk was so helpful. She recommended a friends tow company who was also very helpful. When we couldn't drive the car she recommended a restaurant we could walk to that was excellent. She even offered to have a family member drive us. Great place to stay in Newberg. Rooms are clean and spacious. Room features include microwave and mini fridge. Coffee maker and flat screen tv. Some rooms have jacuzzi tub next to the bed. Our room also had a small desk, a love seat and ez chair. Hotel amenities include indoor pool, hot tub, sauna. Wifi is throughout the hotel but you can only have one device on it at a time. Breakfast is included. Breakfast burritos, bread, fruit, waffles, danishes, a couple kinds of cereals. Gym is tiny. Just three machines and you have to figure out how to turn them on at the base. Room was also hot and stanky. It helped to turn on the AC. Parking is in the back. Rooms are accessible from an interior hallway. Several restaurants are within easy walking distance. Also close to pharmacies and grocery store. read more

It's a Best Western, which means that it's not going to be incredible. That said, I'm sitting here on my king size bed in a jacuzzi suite, and I'm pretty happy. It's certainly the first time I've stayed in a place where there's a bathtub in the main room that's big enough to have a party in - if it's a party of two, and you don't mind being cozy. I've lived in spaces considerably smaller than this room. Everything is clean, if a little threadbare - towels are fraying, carpet is worn at the edges, and the pillows thin. I'm pretty sure that the mini fridge and microwave are straight from 1982, but the fancy flat screen TV/DVD thinger on the wall is straight out of 2010. It's an interesting balance, and overall, I would come here again if I didn't live in the area. However, now that I know how effing close Newburg is to Portland (maps are our friend, and sometimes I even look at them), you can be assured that this PDX resident will make daytrips for wine tasting instead of booking a night here. read more

This hotel is absolutely comforable! I usually do not sleep well the first night - due to the fact that I am in an unknown place and it is not my bed! BUT, I slept like a baby the first night! The beds are so comfortable, and king size! Haha! I am not a fan of the automatic turn on fan in the bathroom. If I wanted the fan on to use the bathroom, I would turn it on myself. As I write this review I am laying in my room at the Worst Wester in Newberg, OR. I have called down to the front desk twice for them to address the noise problem with a girls baseball team that is staying here. They are running the halls, yelling and screaming which seems to be ok to the management here! I will NEVER stay here again!!! The girl at the front desk actually said to me, after I asked her if she was going to do something about the noise, "Don't speak to me that way." And she hung up on me!!! I didn't even raise my voice or swear at her! Maybe if I had she would have done something!!! So if you can't find a better place to stay, at least ask if there is this stupid baseball team staying here! By-the-way, they lost their game!!! Karma!!! At its best!!! read more

We stayed at this hotel two nights while in town for a wedding. This hotel was extremely clean! We had very quiet evenings and very restful sleep. The breakfast was good, nothing special, but it was hot and everything was fresh. The coffee was delicious. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Updated Review: Okay... I have to just add more info on this Best Western after a stay at another Best Western out of State in Idaho. I stayed at 2 Best Westerns locally here in Oregon. 3 nights total equaling over $300 in charges. I ended up getting a free night from BW and planned on using it out of State while on vacation with my family. This free night was at the Best Western Plus which was supposed to be even nicer and more upscale from the one here in Newberg. Well, it wasn't. It was a literal dirty pooh-hole in comparison. The 1st room was so dirty. The tub had a nasty gray film to it and the room itself, it smelled strongly of dog urine. I was mortified amd requested to go to another room immediately. It made me miss my Newberg BW so much! The Newberg BW isn't even a "plus" and it still was 100 times nicer than the hotel in Idaho. I had to come back here and add to my original review. The breakfast is better than anything else out there. I even stayed at a La Quinta while on vacation and it was very nice, but still not as nice as Newberg BW. Stay here!!! Super happy with this hotel. We had just checked in and then went out to eat. While we were at dinner we found out my husband had been in a serious accident at work and we had to leave quickly to get to the hospital. We had to rush back grab our bags and check out and go.
