    King Size Bed, BW, Fallon,NV
    Samantha K.

Driving between Park City, Utah and home (San Francisco Bay Area), we stayed at Best Western Fallon for the night. Staff here is very very nice. Check in was very good. They do express check-out. The room had a very comfortable king size bed, refrigerator, microwave, TV, couch, desk area, dresser. The bathroom is on the smaller size but fine for a one night stay. The breakfast in morning was good. The breakfast lady staff is so nice. She is super wonderful. Parking is free and even mid week, many were staying there. The one thing I am still not sure of is we were on the 1st floor, From about 11:30 to 1:30 there seemed to be a wrestling match going on in that room. but other than that great stay.

    Room 124

You'll get your vitals checked when walking into the office. We stayed in room 124, if they hand you a key to this room hand it right back to them if it's winter time. The heat works, but is extremely loud and runs in 30 second bursts. The beds are normally comfortable here, but not in room 124. Seriously, hand it back and move on. We slept about an hour all together with all this nonsense.

Hot breakfast (oatmeal, milk, fruit cup, and granola bar)

What a great value!! We did a 2-night stay on June 11-13 (2021) in a two-queen room. The room was pretty spacious and perfectly clean. The air con was icy cold (wonderful). There's a microwave and mini-fridge with a big freezer compartment. Fast (free) internet and good cable TV channels. We were pleasantly surprised! They provide a nice grab-and-go breakfast with a choice between the hot or cold option; we had 2 adults so we picked one of each (but the hot option with the oatmeal is better). The hotel is pet friendly, so we brought our cat and our service dog. We called ahead to notify the front desk about the service dog and the house cat. Without us asking, the hotel waived the normal pet fee for the cat because we had a service dog anyway. Honestly, we do not understand the bad reviews. This hotel has everything we needed (1) a clean room, (2) good AC, (3) key appliances (fridge/microwave/coffee), (4) comfy beds, and (5) friendly staff. Can't beat it for the price. We would definitely stay here again.

People could not even back out because of this .

Friendly staff and comfortable room with a complimentary breakfast. It was nice for us to be able to stop and stay during a snow blizzard.

I was passing through the small town of Fallon, Nevada along driving The Loneliest Road in America…read more I had read that this.....the Overland Hotel was a worthwhile stop for anyone interested in exploring Fallon. After getting my Loneliest Road Survival Guide stamped at the Fallon Convention Center, I thought....why not stop by the Overland Hotel and check it out! It's situated right on the corner of historic Maine Street. It can't be missed. On the roof of the place....it simply says...."Hotel"....lol, that's how "old school" this hotel appeared to be. Also, the entire exterior was painted brick red with a little white awning hanging from the 2nd floor. My initial thought was that this hotel was gonna be a real vintage throwback. And that's exactly how I'd describe the Overland Hotel. In all, it's a combined hotel, restaurant, bar, lounge and saloon all mixed into one iconic landmark. Entering inside....the whole vibe and feel certainly oozed of your typical "dive bar". A no frills, classic bar and saloon dedicated to the blue collar folks out there. I would also slightly describe the ambiance like an old western saloon.....yet I had seen a lot better cowboy saloons along my Loneliest Road journey....especially in playful Virginia City, Nevada. Regardless, I did sit down and grab a drink at the bar. Overall, it was nice, an okay/decent moment to stretch out my legs, relax and unwind after many hours on the road. I would assume the hotel is a vintage type of place to stay as well, blending into the whole "old fashioned" theme. For me, I was content to have had a chance to discover this Overland Hotel as a fine roadside stop in Fallon. For anyone else interested in checking out some other attractions in Fallon, I'd recommend passing by the Naval Air Station (supposedly home of the Top Gun Training facility). Also a few miles just east of town along The Loneliest Road was Sand Mountain Recreation Area.....a unique and desolate spot with land-piles of sand and hills to wander, roam around and explore upon.....similar to but not nearly as majestic as Great Sand Dunes National Park near Alamosa, Colorado.

Absolutely unacceptable experience with Holiday Inn Express Fallon, NV -- BE WARNED…read more I made a reservation weeks in advance for a suite at this location to accommodate my family of five. Three days prior to check-in, I was contacted by the hotel informing me that they would not be able to honor my reservation because no suites were available. Their only proposed "solution"? To book two separate rooms at a higher price than my original reservation -- completely unacceptable. Not only did they refuse to honor the rate I had originally booked, but when I reached out to IHG's corporate support team, I was met with indifference and zero accountability, despite IHG's widely advertised Reservation Guarantee policy. Because of their incompetence and refusal to honor my confirmed reservation, I am now scrambling to find alternative accommodations with only one day left before arrival. To make matters worse, this is a holiday weekend (July 4th), so hotel prices have skyrocketed due to low supply and high demand -- something that could have been entirely avoided had Holiday Inn Express simply stood by their commitment. This kind of bait-and-switch tactic is not only unethical, but it leaves loyal IHG customers completely stranded. I will absolutely reconsider staying at any Holiday Inn Express or IHG property in the future based on this experience. Travelers -- book elsewhere if you value reliability, customer service, or peace of mind.
