They were perfect, everything was great and loved the online banking platform. It was very easy to…read moreuse and very intuitive. You could arrange the accounts in order and name them. You could also easily transfer money from one account to another: Choose From then Choose To, it was that simple. Then recently they destroyed the online banking website. All the accounts got out of order and they took away the function to put them back they way you needed it. They only way to fix the issue was to swap the names of two of my accounts, swap my direct deposit accounts, swap my mortgage draft accounts, swap everything between these two accounts, I'm still in the process of swapping everything. Because of this mess, I now also require to have debit cards for the account that I use to use to be for my mortgage that I now have to use for my daily spending. They promised me they would send it FedEx and that I would have it today. Today is over and it did not come so I called them. They just told me they sent it regular mail and should have it in 5-10 more days. So I have no access to my funds until another week. On top of all this mess they caused. Trying to transfer money on the new online banking is also a total mess, if you can even figure it out. It took me about 10 minutes to figure it out then I ended up doing it backwards. Before the change you simply had a transfer button, choose the from account then the to account and hit the submit button and you're done. Now you have to find Move Money then choose either start transaction of manage accounts, try them both one of them should work, then choose the account the money is going to, not the one it is coming from and so on, which is so backwards. I had Discover bank and Wells Fargo before moving everything here, now I am in desperate need to find a bank with a good online banking platform. I absolutely HATE this place now...

My boss, who did a brief hitch in the Air Force, called me and told me he walked into the Meyerland…read morelocation and walked out with a $50,000 unsecured, personal loan, no tax returns or anything to provide. I walked into their Sugar Land location and applied for a $14,500 unsecured, personal loan on the same day. I was told my loan was pending consideration. I should have an answer in 2 to 24 hours. I had to wait 6 hours for an answer. The answer was, "We need a pay stub and bank statements." Like my boss, I'm self-employed. Neither of us get "pay stubs." I spent the evening sending Navy FCU bank statements from two accounts and 2 years of tax returns. Had to wait till the next morning for an answer. On a range of 7.43% to 18% APR for personal loans, these clowns offer me the loan at 18%. I did 12 years in the Navy and my dad (Nam Vet) and sister were retired Air Force. My credit score is 790, I have little debt, I have $1,035/month mortgage for home that only half the value is financed, always got the best rate when buying a car, and that's the way they want to treat a vet? TERRIBLE! I called Navy Federal Credit Union back to discuss my issue, like the business mgr. who responded below, told me to. The Associate who fielded my call said there were no notes about this on my account, didn't understand why he/she didn't leave his/her name and said she didn't know why he/she even prompted me to call. Big surprise.

First, let me say I joined Navy Federal Credit Union because I felt that they were more customer…read moreoriented than say, Chase Bank. I purchased a used car from them in 2024 and paid it off. I applied for and was given pre-approval to purchase a used car. The rate was 6.49%. I ended up purchasing a new vehicle. I then called Navy Federal credit Union, and asked to have my interest rate adjusted accordingly. I spoke to three different people three different times and was told there was nothing they could do. I called again this past Friday on April 25, 2025 and spoke with two people. The first person I spoke with was reasonable and transferred my call to a supervisor named Robert the last name provided. I told Robert I was disappointed with Navy Federal Credit Union unwillingness too communicate with me in good faith. I didn't say to him "your people could have said to me if I change the terms of the loan, i.e., the number of months financed why wouldn't they modify the loan?" Robert said he would change the interest rate. Based on my recollection of the conversation, he agreed to change the rate from 6.49% to 3% with a 36 month finance plan. I waited to get the revised loan agreement/promissory note and it arrived on yesterday, Monday, April 28, 2025. Unfortunately, it had the terms of the original loan. I called back to Navy Federal Credit Union and asked to speak with a supervisor again. I spoke again with Robert who may or may not have remembered our conversation from three days prior. He said according to the notes, the interest rate should be 3.9% and not 3%. Since according to them, all calls are recorded I asked for a copy of the recorded conversation. I was told I could get a printed transcript and not the actual recording. Having worked in the Legal field for a long time I know that in depositions people are afforded the opportunity to make revisions to the document. I've expressed my concern that without hearing the tape I was left to the mercy of whomever was transcribing from the recording. And, that the transcription may not be inaccurate representation of what was said. This experience caused me to look back at my previous loan with Navy Federal Credit Union. I discovered their business model is not as beneficial to its customers as one would like to believe! Their model does not allow principal payments! Safe for instance you have a loan and you make a $10,000 payment to reduce the amount owed. That amount of money is spread out as if you were making multiple monthly payments. The monthly payments have interest calculated into them, therefore the consumer is not saving as much as they could. Reducing the principle saves the consumer the most amount of money. I strongly encourage everyone to listen closely to the word choice that banking officials use. These people are highly trained to intentionally mislead customers by redirecting you with words that do not answer specific questions, and lead you down the path that distracts you from your initial interest. From what I've seen most banking institutions employee similar tactics to maximize their profits, leaving the customer, unaware that they could've saved the money! As of this moment, I have not received the revised promissory note with the new terms. GN3
