Unfortunately, the customer service I received during the call was extremely disappointing. The woman who answered the phone was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional throughout the conversation. I attempted to explain my situation and ask for assistance, but I did not feel that she made any effort to understand the circumstances or help me resolve the issue. I was simply told that I needed to pay $530. I explained that, according to Florida law, there are time limitations regarding the validity of certain liens and asked whether that applied in my situation. She stated that she was unfamiliar with the statute, told me that I "should have taken care of it back then," and then abruptly ended the call. The entire interaction left me with the impression that the priority was collecting money rather than actually helping resolve the customer's issue. It was very clear that there was little regard for the people who ultimately provide their business and revenue. Customers deserve to be treated with professionalism, patience, and basic respect--not made to feel as though they are simply a source of payment. I ultimately contacted the DMV directly, and they were able to review the situation and clear the stop on my registration.
