I decided to go to Dr. Taglia for X-rays and second opinion. He discovered a few new cavities and showed me on my X-rays and video photography exactly what was happening to my teeth. He felt the integrity of the teeth previously in question did not need the expensive procedures. He also repaired a chip in my front tooth that the other dentist botched up. His match is perfect and no one would ever know I had a chip in my front tooth. It was nice to go to a dentist that isn't just able making tons of money.

I don't know about you, but most of my experiences at the dental office have been unpleasant. More often than not, I have felt like just another person that fills a chair with no real personal care or plan. Once I saw the great reviews for here- I booked an appointment. That was almost 4 years ago, and I haven't gone anywhere since! My very first appointment here was probably the best one I've ever had at a dentist. I had just came from a dental office where I went with a problem of bleeding gums and all I was told was that there was a mouthwash I would have to use to correct the problem.... Pretty much forever lol and then sent right out the door. It went the complete opposite here though. I first met Dr Diana Barzano and she got me right together......she was so sweet that she gave me her cell phone number in case I had any questions or issues with my mouth after she got done working on me; I had a lot of issues going on. Despite what I had going on she made me feel super safe and actually cared for. Everyone in the office is an absolute sweetheart and extremely professional and knowledgeable. Dr. Val is another one of my favorites. I started taking my young son there and he loves her too. Although he is only nine, she and everyone else is very hands-on with dealing with him, especially since he can be pretty nervous in the office. I am so glad that I found them and don't plan on going anywhere else.

I come in for my appointments from the northwest suburbs, not a short or easy trip at any time of day. When working on each coast, Dr Joe and staff always went out of their way to get me in when in town, even if it meant staying a bit longer in the office. Whether for routine dental checkups or implants or other complex procedures, Dr. Joe and staff always ensured I understood the procedures to my satisfaction (detailed person I am)and followed up after these procedures. His staff is extremely helpful in getting patients in when needed/desired as well as taking care of all the insurance work promptly with easy payment arrangements available, if needed. I've heard patients complaining about the pain to the point I want to go smack them over the head but the staff has always been patient and friendly - I don't know how they do it! I'm usually only in for a cleaning with one if the hygienists so I don't spend as much time with Dr. Joe but he still makes a point of coming over and saying "hi" and to make sure I'm happy with the service. A few years back I had decided to go with lumineers (dentists aren't miracle workers, they can only fix do much naturally) so that was the time I spent the most with Dr. Joe - as expected, he and his staff helped make the rather painful process (holy crap does that glue go everywhere!) a little less horrible.

I was SO nervous to have a tooth bonded. Dr. Kouris is an ARTIST. She took her time and explained everything thoroughly. I felt so comfortable. I knew I was in good hands. She was excited to create a work of art. I'm afraid to say too much good in this review because it'll be hard to get an appt. But, seriously - she is soooo incredible. A unicorn in the industry. My tooth looks better than it has in 20 years. She didn't just say - 'ok you're done.' She asked numerous times....'how does it feel? Do you like it? Is anything bothering you?' And when I was walking out she said - 'if anything feels odd just come back in and I'll touch it up for free. I stand by my work.' I'm so impressed with this office and Dr. Kouris. We'd been with them for two years until last week when we switched to a different practice because we felt they were scamming us. I had never had a cavity in my life -- zero -- and all of a sudden I had 5, after having no issues 6 months before. They showed me an xray, but I couldn't see any issues. They showed me a photo of the tooth (1 tooth, not 5) and I panicked and let them fill the cavity. However, when my husband went in after me, they said he had 9 (!!!) cavities, and somehow they'd cost less than my 5. Geeee, hmmm. Seems like maybe they aren't a big deal if they're going to cost less than mine, no? He opted not to fill them because it had taken forever the previous times they did his fillings and he had days of pain afterwards, and was extra sensitive after cleanings. We switched dentists and guess how many cavities my husband had? ZERO. We are not alone in this experience. Furthermore, our 6 year old's teeth cleanings would take at least 30 minutes, which I thought was normal until we switched dentists and it took less than that including xrays and checkout. Avoid avoid avoid.
