I have been doing business here for about ten years. I have had , for the most part , positive…read moreexperiences, however , after the last encounter I will never, ever go back. I brought in several items( jewelry) for loan. I asked for the slips to be split into two or three separate tickets so I could return to get my items faster. My items were VERY expensive diamonds and other stones. They were not chips. I'm talking maybe eight or nine carats tw for one ring alone. The person working said they didn't have time to measure each stone and would write the tickets as scrap gold only recording the weight of the pieces. At the time I didn't think much of it as I was positive I'd be returning soon enough( as I had done for YEARS) Over the new year holiday I went to Pawn shop app to make an interest payment to extend the loan one month(again common practice) It was around 11:40 pm on the 30th , which was one of my loan maturity dates. Yes , in hind site that was cutting in close. I paid one of tickets and was sent a receipt so I proceeded to the next ticket. As I was in the process of putting my card info the info just disappeared. I logged back in and instead of the tickets it only showed the one I just payed. I wasn't that worried I just figured maybe since it was now after midnight it disappeared automatically from the app. Immediately following New Years I called the shop and asked to speak to the person with whom we had always done business, Barrett. I have never had issue with him and usually he goes the extra mile to help us out. He is definitely aware that we do ALOT of business there and he is definitely aware that we have never not come back for an item. Never not once. I explained to him what happened and he told me It expired on the 30th and the next day it was sent to me melted as scrap gold and there was nothing that could be done. I 100% percent do not for one minute believe this to be true. First off the diamond weight of one of the rings was over 7 carats. It would be sold on the showroom floor long before it got melted. Also, the time before several people who worked there stated they wanted it and would buy it. I never in my wildest dreams thought they would end up getting it. I have no doubt in my mind someone wanted and was literally counting down the seconds to gets it. No grace period, didn't care that the app cut me off , was extremely rude to me. I would have paid whatever fees , penalties, etc. This was a family heirloom and this is heartbreaking. This is completely unethical. Like I said , I will never do business here again. I am contacting the BBB and any and everyone that will listen. Thanks Chads.
