Holiday Inn Express & Suites Toledo West - Nice hot breakfast options

This was probably one of the nicest Holiday Inn's I've stayed at. We were only here for one night,…read moreand it was really less than 12 hours; We saw Lindsey Stirling in concert across town and I chose this hotel because I was halfway between Centennial Terrace, the concert venue, and Toledo Zoo, where we were headed the next day. We are also both IHG members and were able to use points to book. I asked when the hotel had opened and the front desk person said probably around 2015. When we booked with points it didn't let us select a king room so we chose standard room; This ended up being a room with two queen beds and it was actually hearing accessible, which was interesting. I've never seen that before but when someone rings the doorbell for the room, there is a light that lights up. It was the last room available for the night - there was a group of people who showed up before us and I think were only able to get one room and they needed two or something like that, but the front desk person was able to call the Hampton next door and secure a room for them. Breakfast this morning included hot options like sausages and eggs, and they even had cinnamon rolls. I had a bagel, turkey sausage, regular sausage, and apple juice. They even had Chobani yogurt which I thought was an upscale selection. The bed itself was super comfortable as well and the bathroom was large. I would stay here again when in the area.

I went down stairs and told them I need a different room, which I was told they don't have a different room. The lady was very agitated and short with me. According to the website, there was one available I could book right then. She said it would cost more. I said that's fine. A room just like my room I was in magically became avaliable, not even the one that was costing me more from online. The only other option is to go elsewhere. This was a matter of having an asthma flare or not. Since a new room magically appeared, She took me to the new room, which did not have the odor. I got moved, and the second room had a fridge that did not work and a very dirty bathroom. Since I was treated so abruptly with a rude attitude last time, I just worked around it. The walls were very dirty and there was a messy floor. The shower was functional and the toilet was fine. So I dealt with it. The only thing that was good here was there wasn't any bed bugs and the bed was comfortable. There are a lot of hotels around, pick a different one. Even if those issues existed and they were handled without the attitude, rudeness, and obvious lack of empathy , I would have a few more stars here.

We are here for 5 nights and couldn't be more please with the room! To start we are enjoying dinner at Brim House and Emma ( our waitress) is absolutely amazing!! The bartender, Tim, also made me a special and delicious drink!! Wow! So far so good!! Especially our King corner room with the river view. Day 2, Valet service is a real shit show. Pulled our car up and didn't brush snow off, had our check out wrong, didn't leave our vehicle running, didn't give us the fob so had to go back in. For $32 a night, so far not good. Not happy. Also after we left I received a call from the hotel, the valet had lost a bottle of prescription meds & wanted to know if we could search around the drivers seat for them. So we searched the vehicle & didn't see any meds( but seriously???). Also got 3 different answers on when the Executive Lounge is open from the front desk. Apparently it will be open for breakfast on Friday the 2nd and then closed the weekend. However, Emma our waitress from the night before was our waitress for breakfast and she was fabulous! Her attention to detail and wonder personality makes her great for customer facing service. She should really be the face of the hotel! Day 3- so the valet has lost our vehicle. After telling us it wasn't put in the system correctly & also not having the correct license plate number , they told us to go to the hotel restaurant & breakfast would be on them. That is nice but we have a place to be today as we are here for a friend's wedding and we need to go to the venue for pre wedding stuff. But here we are getting breakfast because we have no vehicle! But the nice part is again, Emma our waitress at the Brimhouse in hotel and also Holly who are both very nice and wonderful. All food pics on this are from Brimhouse in hotel in lobby level. Day 4, went to check out the Executive Lounge, this is the first day we were told it would be open for breakfast and our key didn't work, again. Had to go to front desk and get our key card retapped ( again). They didn't have breakfast at all. Just snacks and a small refrigerator with water and juice. Video shows the Executive Lounge. We also found out that the lounge is only open this morning and won't be open the rest of the weekend. So basically we thought it was nice that we were getting complimentary access and really only are able to enjoy it for one time. We are Diamond with Hilton so we wanted to really see how this hotel does Executive Lounge. Let's just say it leaves a lot to be desired. Hilton lounge would not be closed this long and especially over a holiday weekend. In order to get lounge access, outside of complimentary, one has to be a Titanium level. Honestly I would be so disappointed if I was Titanium and the lounge wasn't open and the " food" was what the video shows. We are supposed to have dinner at Brim house, 6:00pm for a party of 8 people. Stay tuned. Dinner was wonderful at Brim House and Emma was absolutely perfect. Also Thea at the bar was phenomenal! Day 5, wedding day. Bride and groom and in laws arrived last night and now Brim House is hooking me up with coffee and muffins for the bridal suite. Again Brin House has made all the other hotel crazy so worth everything. Once again Emma is taking care of us and I am very appreciative and grateful. Also connected to the hotel is Barry's Bagels and they make their bagels fresh so be sure to check them out. Day 6- checking out about 7:15 am and of course the valet charge was not removed from them losing our car, so that had to be corrected. Otherwise checkout was fine and as expected. A word of caution though to always make sure charges are correct before leaving any hotel as it can be time and challenging to take care of errors after you are home. I know this was a long review but I wanted to be thorough with so much that happened.

Behind the coffee is a large, high ceiling, sunny area with couches, cushy seats and breakfast tables and chairs. A hotel market is next to reception. Elevators are just past reception. This four story hotel has two elevators, several meeting rooms, an indoor pool, game room, gym and laundry room with one washer & dryer. Public restrooms are at the end of the hall to the left from reception, near the pool. Our king suite has lots of room with a sofa and coffee table at one end, bed at the other, TV on top of a dress in between. A desk is on the wall as you turn the corner from the entry. The entry houses a wet bar with small sink, fridge, microwave, coffee and ice. The fridge has a small freezer which we used for our cooler ice packs. We put cut vegetables (car snacks) on the top shelf and they froze!. Beware what you put near the freezer. There is a plug here for their coffee pot and my travel kettle. Large closet with iron & board and mirror doors. Vanity in-room has a fair amount of space for personal items. No hooks for toiletry bags, we hung them in the closet. A towel bar for hand towels and multi-use body lotion on wall near vanity. Bathroom has no fan. Very unfortunate. It looks to be pretty recently (past year or two) renovated with new tub surround and wall paper. Everything worked well. Took a minute for hot water to reach our room (end of hall, top floor) but there was plenty, good pressure, drained well. Toilet worked as expected. Everything was clean. Towels are super soft and absorbant. Multi-use shampoo and body wash in shower. Two hooks: one back of door, one between towel shelf and shower. Bed was comfortable with soft sheets, good weight duvet, lots of pillows of varying density. Bed side table lamps have one plug and one USB in the base. Heater/ac was quieter than many I've experienced and kept the room cool during our July visit. The only thing I miss is hooks by the door for hats and coats in-room Breakfast buffet was pretty standard: juice, eggs, sausage, potato, oatmeal, cold cereal, toaster items plus muffins, and the add-in items like brown sugar, cream cheese, hot sauce, etc. Small bottles of milk for your cereal are in a fridge. No yogurt or fresh fruit. Coffee service has regular, decaf, tea and cocoa with coffeemate creamer and a variety of sweeteners. No restaurants within walking distance but plenty within a ten minute drive. Good amount of parking around the building and a portico at entrance for inclement weather loading and unloading. Three luggage carts by the entrance. App. check-in and wifi keyless entry available at this location. Free wifi with membership (free). Staff were all lovely. Hotel is clean and in good condition. .

I had a room on the 2nd floor. It was great and very comfortable. Lots of space for 1 person. The room had a mini fridge that had several water bottles, sodas, fruit, yogurt. It was very accommodating that they provided that for their guest. One evening it was raining and I was caught in the rain.. my clothes were drenched and I decided to do laundry. My one complaint has little to do with the hotel. Downtown Monroe isn't doing great and some of the shops and eateries nearest walking distance were closed. But it's Monroe. You can drive across town in 5 minutes.

The hotel of proclaimed "limitless romance" sits awkward and unassumingly on a back road between commercial businesses. The rooms are lined buildings like windowless townhouses, almost eerie until we found our room number and pulled into our personal garage. I had been waiting months for this visit because, as expected in the Midwest, hotel rooms with personal pools can be a hot commodity so I booked WAY in advance. For a price tag of over five hundred dollars, the Grand Royal Pool Suite gave us every amenity I could've imagined; soaking tub, two person shower, plush robes, electric fire place, soft king bed, sauna and what we really drove all that way there for, our own personal, private swimming pool. During our stay at Belamere Suites we found indulgence, comfort and, as advertised, limitless romance.

The hotel is tucked away in the middle of an industrial park surrounded by semi trucks, which immediately ruined any romantic atmosphere we were hoping for. To make things even stranger, there were pieces of childlike artwork oddly placed on the outside of the buildings--nothing about it felt romantic or inviting. Inside the room, things didn't improve much. While it was clean, the rose petals placed on the bed were fake, which felt cheap and undermined the "luxury" experience they advertise. The fireplace clicked nonstop whenever we tried to use it, making it impossible to relax. The worst part of the stay was the noise. Our neighbor spent the entire evening screaming at a football game. I called the front desk to complain about the noise, and the only solution they offered was to "drive the golf cart around." The yelling stopped for about 30 minutes and then started right back up. At that point, any romantic vibe I was trying to create for our anniversary was completely gone. We were so aggravated--especially considering the extravagant price tag--that it was clear we weren't going to sleep or enjoy ourselves. We ultimately decided to leave at midnight and just go home. When I called to request some sort of reimbursement, I was offered 50% off a future stay. I honestly found that laughable--I wouldn't return even at $100 a night. This was a memorable anniversary for all the wrong reasons, and I cannot recommend Belamere Suites based on our experience.
