Amazing! Steve and his staff spent no less than 3 hours answering all of my questions about my specific needs and situation. I ended up going with a different lender because I didn't want to have to drive 3 hours each way for business. I believe my experience was made better from the education I received from Steve. Even though I ended up ok somewhere else, I think if I had to do it over again I would have probably gone with Steve. More like Worst Mortgage. I contacted 'Best' Mortgage because they claimed to be VA home loan experts. However I was dismissed quicker than you could blink. I guess I should give a history that they didn't care to hear. I was deployed in 2003-2004 to Iraq. I house shopped online while there and found a wonderful house but it needed work so it couldn't go VA. So I made the mistake of getting a FHA adjustable rate mortgage. Three years later, I was deployed again when that rate adjusted to double the interest rate. Long story short, ruined my credit so I could keep my house and eventually had to declare chapter 13 bankruptcy. Two years after that, I came down on orders to move out of state and put the house on the market. It sat for three years, got broken into, vandalized and eventually I had to short sell it. I move back to Washington and because of all the dings on my credit, landlords would charge high rent and I had no choice but to pay it. So now I'm 100% disabled, have a good job, working on paying down debts, but it's a slow arduous process. If i were able to own a home, I would be paying significantly less for a mortgage than I am paying for rent and that extra money could be paying off debts. Or even refinancing and using that to pay off my debt and maybe I could break even like everyone wants to. Unfortunately, 'Best' Mortgage saw that my score was under 620 and got scared. He kept saying there are other companies that would work with people with low credit scores, but it was too low for them. I would think if they were 'experts' they would be able to do what these other companies supposedly do. This is what's wrong, no one wants to help a vet, we aren't former soldiers to them, we are just credit scores, so until you actually help a vet that needs help, don't claim to be experts, you're just another money hungry, soul crushing, Wells Fargo wannabe. read more

I believe that you should not write a review in anger, so I have waited a year to write it. We heard about this company on the Dori Munson show. We paid almost 500.00 for our house to be appraised. They strung us along from August 2012 till November. They asked for the same bank paperwork again and again because because it was too old old to use by the time they looked at it. At one point, they lost our file for over a week. When the mortgage rates went down I asked to be locked into the lower rate and was told that we were not eligible. We started with a new mortgage company mid November and it closed in two weeks with a lower rate. The owner of the company called a few weeks later and asked if we wanted the loan still. I told her " No, it was the worst experience of my life" and she didn't even apologize. We lost 500.00 dollars and had to pay for another appraisal. Best mortgage is not the best. I would be wary of this company, Steve with whom we spoke, was reluctant to give a quote, and said "trust us". Basically, hand over your money to us and hope for the best. How stupid would that be? He was not upfront, very clandestine. Don't know how a business can operate in this manner. By far, the strangest operation I've encountered. Spoke to Nancy about doing a cash out refinance. She told me my credit scores were a little too low and that she would contact me in a few months (calling me in the beginning of July) giving me time to build mine and my husbands credit. It's now the end of July and I have not heard anything from her or this company. Good customer service starts with good communication skills and honesty. Neither of which I feel this company or empolyees have. Would recommend to no one. And the only reason they get endorsed by radio company employees and other famous Seattlites is because they know if they do spectacular work for them the little peons of the world will think we will get that same type of service, which is not true. This was the second time we used Best Mortgage. The first time was a mediocre experience, the second time was HORRIBLE! It took over 3.5 months to refinance, our paperwork was "misplaced" twice, and twice the financial facts entered by Best Mortgage was entered incorrectly. I did receive a phone call from the owners after sending an email out of total frustration from not having telephone messsage returned. The week the refinance was due to close, I was told the loan officer I had been unfortunate to have to work with, was no longer with the company. That meant another delay and another person I would have to submit additional information to. I would not recommend this company. I was very disappointed as I listen to KIRO Radio and they often endorse this company. I hope that ends. read more

This company has strung us along for nearly 5 months. The lack of communication, honesty and follow through actually earns this company zero stars. I'm not sure why they think it is appropriate to deal with customers the way they have but I feel like writing this review will help save struggling families like my own, a lot of time and heart ache. (And no, I am not affiliated with the first reviewer...I actually gave Best Mortgage a chance because of the Dori Monson show...thanks a bunch Dori.) The final nail in the coffin has been the most recent fiasco with "Best." At the end of September, they contacted us, told us our rate was locked and that they had scheduled someone to come by our house in 2 days to sign all of the necessary papers to finalize the deal. The day before the person was scheduled to come to the house and have us sign, we were told "just kidding" and that no one would be coming because there was a problem with a bank purchasing our loan. They said they would sort it out. THREE WEEKS later, we have been given the run around, only spoken to when we have tried getting in to contact with them repeatedly and then told everything was "dead in the water" (what the hell does that even mean?). I'm not sure why this company thinks that families in this economy won't miss the savings they had promised but guess what? They DO. AND. If there is a problem and we won't be eligible for the re-fi, why not TELL YOUR CUSTOMERS instead of forcing them to sit around, holding their breath, hoping they can have a few extra bucks to pay for Christmas? I am submitting a follow up to my previous review. Since my last review I have had the pleasure of working with Best Mortgage again. Unfortunatly the previous owner of the new home I purchased swapped out the motor on a car lift in the shop that was a major purchasing point for the house. I was very fortunate to have taken pictures of the motor when we were shown the house and after we bought it and clearly it was differant. I contacted the sellers agent and my agent and neither seemed to want to help us. I then contacted Best Mortgage mostly because I didnt know what to do. I was very suprised at what I found. the owner of the company jumped right in and contacted the sellers agent both by phone and mail and managed to "convince" them to have the previous owner take care of replacing the motor. Although I know this was an unfortunate circomstance that had nothing to do with Best Mortgage, Best Mortage was more than happy to help out. Again their slogan "Honest Advice You Can Trust" REALLY was just that !! read more

Best Mortgage is NOT THE BEST CHOICE!!!!!!!!!!! We are military veterans with a combined total years of service of over 41 years to this great nation. TheY routinely advertise themselves as the VA experts which is obviously not the case. We started the refinance process in Sep 2012 and it is now Feb 2013 and for the third time after three attempts they again say they cannot complete our refinance. This company is a disgrace to the mortgage industry! And they should be ashamed of themselves for discriminating against unmarried veterans as well as wasting people's time and money with a process and business they obviously have no idea how to operate! They are the kind of company that probably contribute to the breakdown of the housing industry. They sure aren't one to be promoting it very well! Take my advice.........DO NOT WASTE ONE MINUTE WITH BEST MORTGAGE OUT OF BELLVUE WASHINGTON!!!
