They are jerks and when they see they can't take advantage of you.... then they won't help you at all. They have a limited selection and twist this by stating how quality their floors are so they don't need a lot of choices. AVOID this place. AVOID their vendors. They all give kickbacks to each other. From start to finish, Ali and his crew were top notch. We were looking for a specific style and color of flooring, and took home sample after sample of flooring, with Ali giving us input on the quality of each. After we selected the style of flooring we wanted, Ali came out to the home to take measurements, advise of any issues he noted that might arise during the installation process, and suggested work-arounds. We set a date for the install to start and Ali and his crew moved furniture and completed the removal of our old ceramic tile and wood flooring, and installed the new flooring and baseboards within a week of the start date. Ali personally came out to the home twice during the installation process to make sure everything was to our liking. We hired this company a few months ago. They installed vinyl flooring for a few of our floors. We paid them about $8,000 to do the job. The work was good, but we did have to ask them to come back to complete the baseboard which they did. The problem that I'm having with this company is that they are only respectful if you have a large job for them to do. Just yesterday, I went over to their store to talk with them about a small guest room floor that I wanted them to do before Christmas. The staff, were all outside of the store talking , and as I walked up to approach them about what I needed, they acted like I was a bother. They were very rude totally disregarding my request because the job was too small for their liking. This was not at all their character when I asked them to do the $8,000 job, and what they didn't know was that I just recently purchased a school that also need flooring, and I was going to talk with them about doing this for me after the holidays. Their lost! All that being said, this is the treatment that I got after dealing with them. I will NEVER hire them for anything else. I'll also let my friends and family know about this place so that they can stay away. My final thoughts on this is that a business should treat all customers with respect regardless to what they are requesting. This is how you keep customers coming back for years to come. My wife and I were remodeling our new home. After months of research (brands, flooring types/designs, installation), my wife insisted that we get laminated wood that also comes in a FLUSH stair nose. This instantly narrowed our list of choices to just a few, good manufacturers: Quick Step and its parent, Mohawk. Apparently, flush stair-nose laminated wood is hard to find, and most floor sellers don't even know they exist. Best Floor was recommended to us by my manager who installed laminates himself. He raved about Shawn's knowledge, patience, and low price. Nearby Platinum Flooring was recommended by a friend for their low price. Before I go detail our experience with Best Floor, let me first share our shopping experience and provide some tips to help those who are shopping for floors themselves. During the entire process, we indicated to every vendor that we were going to install the laminated wood ourselves. We never installed flooring before. EXPERIENCE WITH ALL VENDORS We searched the entire strip of vendors on State College (and some others), looking for the colors and designs my wife and I would both be able to compromise on. The first step is to choose what color you want. In the initial weeks, we absolutely had no idea what we wanted. My wife and I were at odds with one another -- she wanted something very dark. I wanted something very light or something with "pop". We looked at a LOT of manufacturers and colors. To keep our 1-month-long hunt story short, we eventually found a sample from Mohawk. Nearby Belmont Flooring indicated that it provides the 5-in-1 molding that allows for flush stairs -- they were the only ones who said this was available. Naturally, we wanted to confirm with other vendors before placing any large orders, but were unable to do so. With ONLY Belmont claiming that the Mohawk we wanted came with flush stairs, we decided to go back to our initial choice: Quick Step. With Quick Step, we then spent a couple more weekends looking for the right color, and found (and 80% liked) the Modello UE1030 Roasted Coffee Oak design. We went back to our list of vendors to check for final pricing before we'd place our order. Belmont and Best Floor were our top choices, and we checked with Belmont first. To my surprise, our Belmont salesperson said, on our 5th visit, "Ah, you two! [Then turning to his associate] They just waste my time." I was a bit taken back by it -- I wasn't sure if he was joking or if he was half serious. I'll be writing my review on Belmont later to detail that experience. We shared that we were now in the final stage, got our pricing, and then headed over to Shawn at Best Floor to do the same. Shawn gave us a slightly lower price, and with that (and other factors -- see below), we went ahead and placed our order. EXPERIENCE WITH BEST FLOOR Shawn's prices were among the lowest of all vendors, but what we really liked about him was his patience and friendly demeanor, just like what my manager said. He made everything very easy, and we couldn't be any happier. Shawn always took the time to walk us through some of the selection processes, answered every question, and also gave us some installation tips. He was, surprisingly, the ONLY vendor who really spent the time to help us pick out colors close to what we were looking for. He never gave us fuss about our back-and-forth with colors and manufacturers. He seemed to understand that as rookies, we had difficulty in finding the board we both would like. The only minor complaint I have is that Shawn sometimes forgets what he said he'd check for us, but whenever we called to follow up, he'd immediately remember and take care of it right then. Granted, he probably forgot because we bombarded him with so many questions :) The shop is small when compared to his nearby competitors, and as such has a mom-and-pop store feel. They also have a 2nd store in Orange. Since our initial order, we went back to purchase more flooring. Like before, he was very patient and provided good guidance. FLOOR CHOICE Although we initially only liked (at about 80%) our Quick Step UE1030, now that they have been installed, we LOVE the colors at 100%. Our friends/coworkers agree, except for an elder relative of mine. TIPS - Floor samples: most vendors take a deposit. Ask in writing, that it's refundable. There are stories about shoppers not getting their money back. Shawn gave us the least trouble about taking samples home. Check the sample at home in day time and evening. Lighting changes how it looks in your home - Measure how much flooring you need. Add 7% as extra - Let your new wood sit in the rooms for 3 days to acclimate BEFORE installing - Installation: Yelp doesn't provide enough space to write about how to install, but we referenced manufacturer sites, YouTube videos, and importantly: flooring sellers. We decided to use Best Floor during a recent remodel because they had a wide range of flooring options for you to look at and their pricing was reasonable compared to their competitors nearby. We were looking for something specific to match up with our laminate that was installed before we moved in and settled on something similar. One thing to know about laminate is that if you don't know the exact brand, model and color, it's most likely not going to match up regardless of how creative you get. Luckily for us we had a step, so the only thing we had to worry about was color. The two people that we came in contact with here were helpful and though they didn't have the exact materials in stock at that moment, we went early enough to where they had it delivered to the store that same afternoon. This was extremely beneficial when we were short some flooring and had to get some more delivered to finish the job. They have someone driving product back and forth from a location in Whittier, so things usually arrive by mid-afternoon if you order soon enough. The process was quick and painless and I got phone calls as soon as things were delivered. A big plus, they are open on Sundays. Now this may seem weird to mention, but most design stores in the area are only open business hours Monday through Saturday. If you work during the week and need to look at materials on the weekend, your options are slim. We will definitely consider Best Floor again if we're dumb enough to do any other home projects again in the near future, but in the meantime, we'll happily recommend them to any family or friends that are in the market for some new floors. read more

The team spent ample time showing us many different options and they were very patient with our questions. They worked with us on sampling the floor options before we finalized our choices. They don't have a huge selection in store, but can order most things for you at request. Derek is great and super patient! I think I asked about a thousand questions, and nothing fazed him. He just kept talking, and letting me talk through my own crazy. It is so stressful trying to find floors you like and at a price that fits your budget. He made it so easy. I gave him my budget number, and when I expected laughter or scoffing, he just nodded and walked over to the area where I would be able to find what I was looking for. RELIEF! I told him the colors I wanted, the feel I wanted to achieve, and about a million other things I'm sure he didn't need to hear. He walked over, picked up a sample and handed it over. Wow, what a complete waste of time. I brought in some samples of my laminate flooring and wanted to purchase some t-molding transition pieces and some stair nosing. The guy wouldn't help me unless I had the specific brand/model so he could look it up. I told him I didn't need and EXACT match, just something close to it. He wouldn't help me!
