Did you know????! Circle in the Square is a school and theater?…read moreThe school has helped discover numerous famous talents over the decades, including Viola Davis, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Lady Gaga, and Kevin Bacon. The theater was originally located in Greenwich Village before moving to its current location. What makes this theatre exceptional is one can see from any seat, very intimate setting where you feel close to the artist (s) and the best.. room for your feet!!! So important to be comfortable when you are taking in a show that is two hours or longer. Additionally, the history of shows that were performed here, is a who's who of talent. I have seen great productions such as Rose Tattoo,Oklahoma, 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee, and now Just in Time. Finally, the attendants are very personable. Great theater! Btw Just in Time is fantastic!

Which made the experience very enjoyable. I also loved the cabaret style seating. Some audience members were seated on the floor so they had a very different experience. When you arrive you'll take an escalator all the way down to the theater. The restooms are located further down. They also have merchandise, snacks, and refreshments available for purchase before the show and during intermission. One thing that I enjoyed doing was looking at all the pictures around the theater. It was so interesting to see celebrities who have performed there over the years. Overall, I would definitely go back for another show.

Located at 225 W 44th St, the Shubert Theatre I noted has a historic charm and excellent central…read moreviews. However, patrons consistently cite frustrating downsides, including exceptionally tight legroom, very steep balcony inclines, and obstructive side-orchestra sightlines. At the orchestra, while offering an up-close experience, extreme side orchestra seats often suffer from obstructed views. Legroom and seat widths throughout the venue are noticeably tight, so booking an aisle seat is highly recommended for taller patrons. The mezzanine has the best balance of price and view. However, the rear section can suffer from the balcony overhang, which cuts off the top of the stage. The balcony offers a surprisingly clear and affordable vantage point, but the steep pitch can feel precarious to those afraid of heights. Restrooms are famously tight and lines move slowly at intermission, making it best to plan ahead. Drinks are available for purchase, though lines can be long. Because food/drink policies can be strictly enforced by house staff, be prepared to consume any outside snacks before entering the auditorium. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed watching " Hell's Kitchen"

Celebrity Autobiography is currently showcased at the Shubert Theater. I shared my opinion…read moreregarding the theater itself in a previous review. And yes, once again an obvious head obstructed my view, but this review will be focused on the show. Getting back to the production. The clever premise of the show spans several years back in L.A. whereupon comedians join forces to literally stand up and read from celebrities memoirs/autobiographies---and it works. A 90 minute solo, mash up and dialogue being read by the comedians offers hilarious entertainment. The celebrity memoirs included those past and present. Granted some of the audience roared with laughter while I remained amused. I was never a stand up comic show kind of gal though I've seen plenty. In my opinion, what was really funny was the manner in which the memoirs were written. Some were so painfully bad. No disrespect to those who passed on, but it included Suzanne Somers, Bob Newart and Carol Channing. The contemporary autobiographies were equally bad, including Matthew McConaughey, Tiger Woods, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sylvester Stallone and so on. The roster of comedians will always be changing until it concludes its run in August. I saw Mario Cantone, Ralph Macchio, Brooke Adams to name a few. I didn't recognize some of the other comedians. If comedy with a twist is your thing, it's worth checking out. As the comedians emphasized, they can't make this stuff up as it was spoken in the words of the celebrity authors.

There's even a piano in the lobby area that's occasionally played, which adds a nice touch while the line moves forward at a steady pace. The whole experience is smoother and more civilized than the Midtown location. If you want discounted Broadway tickets without the chaos, cold, or sensory overload of Times Square, this is absolutely the better choice.

First of all, I have loved and enjoyed the comedy of Seth Meyers for many years. Now that I've seen…read morea taping of his show I love him even more. Going to a studio taping involves a lot of standing and waiting. I found the seating process for this show to be very well organized and everyone interacted very politely with audience members. The process is simple; apply, get your confirmation code, arrive at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, and wait on line for ID and ticket check. (People will arrive earlier than the stated check in time. The earlier you arrive, the closer your seat will be to the front). You will receive a small "Seth Meyers card" after your ID and emailed ticket have been checked. Then you will continue to wait in the lobby. After a while, small groups of maybe 10-15 people are ushered up the stairs after the little card is exchanged for a ticket and a wrist band. Then one by one everyone must go through security, which is set up similar to the airport scans and metal detectors, complete with trays for your items. You must put on the wristband and show the ticket to get into the waiting room. There is plenty of seating, a water fountain, and a unisex bathroom in this room. Other shows share this space so when there is an overlap in production times the room becomes very full. Everyone is encouraged to use the bathroom or drink water before going into the studio because we are told that once in we will not be allowed out until the taping is finished. All phones must be powered off and put away. After a short wait people are called into the hallway in alphabetical order based on the letter/letters on the back of the ticket. (Two or more people arriving together get the same letter assignment and will be seated together.) Groups of 8-10 people are lined up and told to wait by the elevator that will take everyone to the floor of the studio. The hallway to the studio from the elevator is decorated with framed stills from iconic SNL sketches from the 50 years of the show. (No pictures are allowed since we were previously told to power off all phones.) The seats are well cushioned flip down seats. Similar in dimension and space to what one might find at a Broadway show. Not the most comfortable but definitely not the worst. A warm up comic said a few things and explained how the taping will proceed. The comic randomly tossed t-shirts and exited. Seth Meyers came out and thanked us for our time and also said a few jokes. He in effect did his own warm up, then he told us he will reenter in less than a minute and the show will begin. He did his opening and a Closer Look, then the taping stoped for a few minutes. He walked up the steps into the audience and said he had time to answer a few questions. What a great guy!! The taping resumed and the two guests on May 7, 2026, were Lisa Kudrow and Nicholas Braun. After the two interviews the credits rolled, then the taping was over. We were directed back to the elevators and each given a 10% off coupon to use in the gift shop upon exiting. Definitely a worthwhile experience if you are in New York City or plan to visit.
