Hands down the best barber shop not only in Great Neck but among the top on Long Island too. Mike and Stella know how to cut hair, bottomline. I've not only been going here since they opened up but have been recommending friends and family to do so as well. They too have become loyal customers which tells you something. Lemme tell you, there's a reason why "Best" is in their name. Mike and Stella are number 1! read more

I found Mike in June of 2020 when I was still living in Queens, Nassau County had lifted the Covid lockdown and my husband and son were in desperate need of a haircut. We were instantly impressed and have been going ever since, he's the only one we trust. Fast forward to today, we live in Suffolk County and still drive an hour once a month so that the guys can get their haircuts done with Mike. His scheduling system makes things so easy and you never have to worry about him being crowded because he's almost always on time. read more

The Barbers are friendly and professional, the establishment is pristine, and I've never had to wait for more then a few minutes before being seen. If you think parking may be an issue, there's a municipal lot 2 blocks away that's very convenient to use. Will be back next month for my next cut, for sure!!! read more

Best Cuts Barber Shop - Store Front - Barbers Near Me - Great Neck, New York

Insists on customers making an appointment using third party vendor app. When I walked in there's no one there but she insists that I use the app. Not friendly either in case anyone had to guess. Yeah an app that requires setting up an acct, using my phone number and email. Who knows if I'll get even more spam after signing up. This is a neighborhood barber shop, not a fancy Manhattan salon. (Only thing in common is the attitude? ) The inflexibility with appointments is ridiculous. Sure, makes total sense to go through the trouble to set up an account just so they can have MY business, instead of going to 5 other barbers in the same area. Not a smart way to win new business. read more

First time getting a haircut with Mike. I am pleased to say he's a very disciplined individual, friendly and professional. I'm hoping Mike will become my barber for many years to come. read more

I've been getting my haircut at Best Cuts with Mike for about two years now. I've never had an issue prior and the haircuts, though not the best I've ever received in my life, were more than adequate. He is appointment only and has been since Covid hit. No problem, I leave work 30 minutes early to make it by his latest appointment of 5 pm. I've never been late, and have in fact, waited 10-15 minutes before while he was finishing other customers. I never complained and just politely waited my turn. Today, I call to tell Mike that I am going to be 15-20 min late and that I am very sorry. I apologized sincerely several times and left it to his discretion to keep the appointment or reschedule. He insisted I pay a $10 late fee or I don't have to come back anymore. This is how to treat loyal customers that you've never had an incident with before? How do you think he'll treat you as a new customer? He was rude the entire call and made it clear my business isn't appreciated . Message received my brother. I'll take my business elsewhere. If he takes you late, make sure you ask for a late fee discount. Seems only fair. $25 is steep for a local Barber shop that is appointment only and rude besides. There are at least 3 other shops cheaper nearby. read more

Just superb. This afternoon I wandered into Best Cuts (I am a fugitive from a chain of salons named for a fruiting plant -- have I given it away? -- known for pleasant service and OK haircuts. But Mike is the real thing and I told him he has a new customer. What's different? A quiet, clean shop, brightly lit. Mike is gracious and friendly but doesn't insist on talking about sports, or talking in general if the customer wants peace and quiet. He asked me how I wore my hair at the start, and at every juncture, gave me choices. He's really an expert, and every part of the haircut from the overall trimming-the-shrubbery to the delicate detail work, was done precisely and with no fanfare. This place is a prize, and Mike is also. Please note the consistent five-star reviews: I'm sold, and you will be also. read more

I've been to a bunch of different barber shops. They either don't give me the haircut I want or eventually it ends up growing into the haircut that I want. Best Cuts is different.
