However, his actual availability never matched the schedule he gave me. After several failed attempts to set up a cut, I decided it was time to move on. I got online and searched for "best barber shops in Queens." Right at the top of the search was Prestige Barbershop here in Lefferts. Honestly, I've walked past this place many times before without stopping. I had the impression that barbershops in Kew Gardens don't always deliver the best fades. Naturally, I assumed this one might be the same and planned to head to Jamaica for a fade instead. But these guys have done something smart. They have a website, offer online scheduling, and showcase all their barbers on Instagram. That's what made me decide to give them a shot. I checked out the barbers and their work on Instagram, and I was impressed -- their fades looked solid. That simple, smart move of being visible online and showing their skills won them a new customer. I told the owner kudos for that. Plus, booking an appointment was really easy and convenient with no back and forth or hassle. If you've ever dealt with barbers who make the scheduling process more complicated than it needs to be, you know what I mean. The cut looks clean, and I like it, though next time I might go back to a fade. I'm used to getting fades, but I'm open to trying new styles. I'll see how it grows out in the next few weeks. The plan was to do a cut that looks good now and continues to look good as it grows in over time. That part remains to be seen. Overall, I was quite satisfied with the haircut, the service, and the shop. If you're in the Kew Gardens area and have been looking for a place that does good fades, stop by and check out Prestige Barbershop. It's right across the street from the 7-11 on Lefferts.

Been coming to this barbershop to get my hair cut by Alex for over 4 years on a weekly basis. Alex has cut my hair over 200 times and counting! I've never had an issue and the quality is always top notch. He's the best barber in Queens, possibly all of NYC. I've been through a few hair styles and he always gives his professional take and opinions on how it would best suit me. Alex works by appointments only and always is punctual (you better be early!). Chances are you know somebody who Alex services. Especially if you grew up in the bayside-fresh meadows-flushing area. Prices are fair, dictated by the barbershop itself. Average price in the area. This is the spot to go if you're looking for a great haircut with s razor shape shape up and line up. read more

I've been searching for a barber that cuts my hair well. Many barbers I visit never seem to make me walk out completely satisfied. Once I walked in, I asked for Benny as recommended by other yelpers. He was very busy and I had to wait a while for him to finish his customers. There are many TVs around to keep you entertained while you wait. When it was finally my turn, I was not disappointed. He cut my hair just the way I wanted it. Benny was very friendly and professional. It was recommended to make appointments ahead of time to avoid wait time.
