Matt B. in the Building Center was one of the most unprofessional customer service experiences I've…read morehad in a long time. I called him "sir," and somehow that resulted in what felt like a full-blown tantrum. Drop the ego, buddy. You're a customer service representative for John Menard -- dealing professionally with customers is part of the job. Hopefully there won't be a next time, because after this experience I'd much rather spend my money with professionals at Home Depot. But if there is a next time, I can promise you I won't be calling him "sir." I came in needing help with landscaping stone. I wasn't sure exactly how much weight my trailer could safely hold, so yes, I bent the normal process a little while trying to figure it out. I wasn't trying to cause problems -- I was trying to safely purchase well over $600 worth of landscaping materials. Instead of anyone simply explaining the situation or helping me work through it, I was met with cold shoulders and treated like I was some kind of monster for not already knowing exactly how much stone the trailer could handle. Customer service doesn't mean every customer is going to know every rule or procedure before walking through the door. Sometimes people need help. That's literally the point. Robots can't come soon enough. They don't have egos, they can remain professional, and they don't let their emotions dictate how they treat paying customers. And don't get me wrong -- I'd probably be in a bad mood too if I were working on a holiday. But taking it out on customers who are simply asking for help isn't professional.

Drove 100 miles to pick up 160 deck spindles. Guy at the gate couldn't tell us where they were in…read morethe yard. Found the building. The spindles were on 2nd floor. Two guys working, one on the lift. People were dropping lumber over the edge to people below because the two guys were inundated. We are both 70 years old and had a hell of a time lifting bundles of spindles and taking them down a flight of stairs. One of the guys, Paul, was apologetic and helped us carry them, he worked hard to help everyone who came through for supplies. We were exhausted and angry. Paul saved you guys from a worse review!

I placed an online order for store pickup of a lawn trimmer - there were 4 in stock when I placed…read moremy order, per online. After 4 hours (almost) I hadn't received my email that it was ready for pickup, but I was out doing my shopping and figured it would be easy enough to pop in and get it. It was just a weed whacked. Well, it was in the process of being fulfilled, per the woman at customer service. I had gone to look at some accessories for my whacked and knew there were none on the sales floor. I asked the woman if she could contact the person who was fulfilling the order because there were none on the shelf and if they were in fact out, I would cancel and make my purchase elsewhere. This seemed to fluster her. Another woman came over and asked the first CSR if she was helping me and she kinda shrugged. I explained that I hope she was helping me otherwise I was standing there for nothing. After explaining that I ordered a few hours before and there were 4 in stock online, but nothing on the shelf currently, the second CSR's response was "yeah, that's the problem with ordering a line". This is NOT where the great customer service comes in. I was preparing to become Karen, when who I believe is the assistant manager, (this gentleman had been standing in customer service and heard most of my exchanges, I believe), cane walking up with with a package that contained my weed whacked and a leaf blower. $30 more than the product I had paid for. He simply said, "it shows there are still 2 percent n stock and obviously we don't have any. This has what you ordered so we'll give you this" - paraphrased a bit. I thanked him and told him I appreciated the very good customer service. So, hope the 2 CARs weren't great, the gentleman was and gets my 5 review. Thanks, Home Depot, for having such awesome management at the Wausau store.

This last visit he started taking things out of my fridge and says, "first off, these things don't belong in here"!!! I said, "wait! I just bought those last night because I knew you were coming today, and it's yogurt so pretty sure it does". I didn't even get a chance to explain I have freezer bags etc in the fridge to keep the fridge temp as cool as possible. He calls GE as he normally would, gets a man on the phone after this conversation, says he's going to his truck to talk to him. I give him credit...he knocked on the door when he was done with GE, said I would like a reboot asked if we could start over. BUT then tells me how the GE guy agreed that I was the rude one..Nice reboot dude!!! I literally had to ask the guy to leave my home. He politely slid the fridge back into place and said he is leaving. I asked what his company name and his name, he refused.
