I went to get the screen replaced on my I-Phone. Long story short... One person ahead of me. One counter worker. I am waited on as soon as I get to the service counter. I explain why I am there and the service rep takes my phone into the back for screen replacement. I was willing to leave it there if necessary. But I was told it would be finished in no time at all to wait there. I sat for over an hour and nothing ... walked , came back again and waited another hour ... Went for a areawide ride, came back nothing! It took hours to complete this task. If only they just said we will text or phone you when ready! No! I have to say that the clerks were very respectful. awful. my husband and i have purchased 4 cell phones from best buy in the past - same location in spring hill, florida. 1st time we went, was accosted by an at&t salesman who would not leave us alone, trying to get us to change from t-mobile to at&t. finally, i told him to get away from us. then we couldn't find a best buy salesperson. one was very rude to my husband. we finally left the store without buying anything. came back next day. surly salesperson apologized; manager got involved and took care of us. after we paid for the phone, i asked to see the phone. mgr was reluctant with various excuses, but finally acquiesced. don't know what that was about. would you buy a steak if you couldn't see it??? then i wanted the data from current phone transferred to my new phone, which had always been done in the past to 4 other phones. mgr said they no longer offered that service. there is a 'geek squad' department in the store. we were directed over there for an additional $40!!! we will not buy anything from best buy, spring hill florida, again. read more

I have to say..I purchased an item from here and had it at home for about a week and finally removed it from the box and it had a scratch on it..I figured maybe that is why it was on sale...turned it on and it did not work... It must have been damaged when they packed it, that was not the case..I dreaded going back to the store and seeing if they would do anything for me, I expected the worst..let me tell you how professional and helpful they were in taking my item back. Kudos to Best Buy. In the past, if you got home and found a defective product, Best Buy would refund your money AFTER a 15% "re-stocking" charge, or send the product back for repair. I recently purchased a laptop with Window11 w/ Safe Mode. After setting it up, and removing the Safe Mode (to run some existing programs), the video failed. An IT guy (ex-Army) suggested I try a better laptop. Different brand, different CPU. Same problem; remove the Safe Mode, and the video fails. Hoping it might be a bad unit, I exchanged it for another unit, and had the same problem. This time I just returned it for a refund. During all these issues, there was NEVER any hassles from Best Buy. Upgrade was easy, exchange was no problem, and return took,all of 30 seconds. Best Buy has won me back as a customer! As an aside, watch out when buying any computer with Windows 10 or 11 with Safe Mode. Safe Mode means you have to get ALL your programs from the Microsoft Store. If you have other existing software, you must remove Safe Mode, and thus the problems begin. read more

You know what? I can't get this facility any lower than a five simply because the service that we received has been excellent. We have bought most of our electronics from this place and each time we have been met with experienced, knowledgeable sales associates who go the extra mile to make sure that we have what we need when we walk out of their doors. I know that we may pay a few extra bucks more for our electronics, but it is worth it knowing that we are getting exactly what we need for our needs. My time is worth much more than a sale going on across town knowing that I can count on their recommendations to be the right ones every single time. I have used their GeekSquad, not as of late, but in the past and I have been very satisfied with them. Again, very knowledgeable associates and very willing to go the extra mile. I have been given information from the associates that I would not have necessarily expected to have received. I consider this going above and beyond. We recently bought a 55 inch screen TV that we absolutely are in love with. It was recommended from the sales associate on the floor and based on what we told him we wanted, he recommended this and we are extremely satisfied. Contacted my local Best Buy store, but discovered that ALL calls are routed through a national call center. I asked the agent on the phone if my printer issue could be resolved by the Geek Squad, and provided the brand and model number of my printer and explained that I had a paper jam that did not clear properly. She replied that the Geek Squad could "absolutely" fix my printer. I waited two days for the appointment and showed up as scheduled only to be told that Best Buy/Geek Squad does not fix printers and that the call center shouldn't be telling customers that printers could be fixed. I telephoned the Best Buy call center when I returned home with my still non-functioning printer to suggest an update to thier call center procedures. I was told that they could schedule a Geek Squad "in-home repair" for my printer. I repeated to the agent on the line what I was told at the store - twice. He then told me that that the Geek Squad doesn't fix printers in the store, but that same crew could come to my home to fix it. I asked the agent if he was aware of what he just told me, and asked why I should believe that the same persons who couldn't fix my printer in store could fix it in my home. I have been in this store numerous times to either have a computer serviced or buy one. In both scenarios, this organization is lacking in efficiency. I had to buy a new MacBook Air when the store informed me that the Apple Care protection package I had bought would not cover the water damage on my older air model. I was already annoyed at the extra expense. If you buy a new computer and need it set up by the Geek Squad, you will have to leave it at least several hours. There is no immediate service. Also, if you need computer service, good luck getting what you need from this particular store. I had trouble with an update and in order for them to "fix" my issue, I was going to have to spend $200 over what I had already spent for virus protection and support/service from the Geek Squad three months before. Rather than pro-rate my coverage, they told me I would have to call the new virus protection provider and get them to give me a new code. I objected, telling them the issue was THEIRS. They ended up telling me they would call the company for me. It never happened. My computer ended up just sitting in their workroom for over a week. I ended up going to pick up my computer, buying a McAfee package for $30 (on sale) and having that installed. The whole ordeal was unnecessary because the right arm doesn't know what the left arm is doing, and all because of a software update that I had already bought. Beware when they make promises. A couple months ago I needed a new pair of headphones and went here for a "Dre Beats Studio 3" pair. They not only had them in stock, the exact color- but they worked to get me a deal on them and the best pricing. They went above and beyond, and I was thrilled. I stopped in today for another accessory for my Apple TV. They were welcoming, friendly, speedy, helpful, and again went above and beyond to get me the best pricing and make sure I got what I needed. Best Buy does not stand behind their products. I purchased a Dell monitor just under a year ago. It has gone bad. Fonts are messed up and the screen vibrates. I called Dell and spoke to a Geek Squad member who told me that the monitor was still covered and that if they could not fix it, they would replace it. The person made an appointment for me at my local store. When I went to the store, I was told that the people on the phone do not know what they are talking about, that they would not be able to fix it, and I would not be getting a replacement. Although I was very happy with the service I received in the store. I was assured that the tv I bought would be delivered and plugged in to see that it worked. It was delivered by UPS and left at my front door. I was able to get it inside my house and set it up. It was a 50" smart tv. It took me all day to set up to my satisfaction. I am 78 years old and it was quite a chore. I am not a happy camper and will think twice before I buy again from Best Buy. read more

Earlier this year I bought an HP all in one computer and a young man, (nicely done dreadlocks!) installed it and patiently went through all the parameters with me several times to be sure I understood. He even did a follow-up. I went back to my order, receipt and had wrote down his name, Vince, because I will ask for him again. We, also, recently bought a Smart TV and my husband requested Vince. He was his same professional and patient Geek Squad member. He did a follow-up again to be sure we were enjoying all the benefits of our purchase. This review is not directly about the products in the store, but it IS about their coordination of repair of Apple products. I recently spilled some water on my MacBook Air and took my device in for repair. The first stumbling block came with the Geek Squad and their lack of effective communication skills. It was as if I were asking questions in one language and they were answering in another. These younger people have definite attention deficit. Yes, I finally got my device checked in, and after nearly a week, I received the news from a distant site they had to send it to that even with my Apple Care Package of $249 that I bought with the device that the cost of repair was going to be over $1,000. Then I bought a washer and dryer from them and when I looked at my paperwork, they were charging me $20 to haul away my dryer that is actually a very good Kenmore and could be re-used. Not the best, but not the worst. This is pretty much a typical Best Buy, but one thing I have noticed both in these reviews and in Best Buys in general is their mediocre service. Not only do few employees have expertise in electronics, they are SLOW (service wise). I came in here knowing what I want and I knew it was in stock, after checking the website. But when I got to the rack, it wasn't there. So I looked around for an employee but couldn't find one until I came across a lady trying to assist someone in the computers department. She noticed me, and after she was done helping the couple, she came to me. I asked her if it was in stock (I knew it was) and she's like "IIIIIIIII dooooooon't thiiiiiiiink sooooo but I can check if you want real quick". So ten minutes later, she arrives with my device. My other gripe during this visit was when I needed help with guidance looking for an SD card (I didn't have my contacts in, so I could not read the signs or scan down the aisles). I find a guy to help me and he proceeds to walk up and down every aisle in the section until he finds it. I could have done that myself. Gripes aside, the staff were friendly and fast at checkout. I think I am being very fair in my patience with this company, and even more so with this particular location. Lately (the past 2 years in particular) this location has been notorious for not having items in stock. Sales ad releases on Sunday mornings, items from Computers to movies, CDs, and games are not to be found. On media release day, it's a joke. Nothing can be found, not for lack of trying, people go looking, but in stock items are lost. This is a weekly occurrence. Not just one item a week, but numerous. It's wasted fuel and time. I'd order online, but the items always arrive damaged due to poor packing. Geek Squad? Ha that is a sorry situation. I brought in my iPod Classic 160gb with extended warranty. They 'serviced' it by giving me an iPod that wouldn't hold charge and looked like it had been dragged down a rocky path for miles. I brought it back and they replaced it with 'the only thing they could' a 120gb classic (so a 100$ cheaper product and 40gb storage loss) and the warranty is void due to being a different product. That's been a while but in my trips there several people have been yelling about loss of a computer. That's huge, not something easily misplaced. Game preorders are fouled up, numerous were put out on the floor instead of being held in reserve. Loss of limited edition games that are sold out elsewhere. The point of preordering is to guarantee your order is there. Can't trust them with that task anymore either Items in incorrect location so that you get sticker shock when arriving at register... far too often. I'm not talking about grabbing the 1 item on a peg, I'm talking about a peg full of wrong items. Need an emergency PC part? Don't go to Best Buy. They won't stock it unless it's a hard drive or external disc drive. The only saving grace of this store are exceptional employees like Patty (no longer with the company) and DRod. There's another guy in the back that often wears a small gold cross necklace who is great help. These 3 strive to help and search for items every week. But the rest is terrible. *update* on 2/6/2019 I visited Best Buy again. What a drag. I went in looking for 7 items. Checked online, available. Not in store, couldn't be found. I bought 3 different items and tried buying 4. The game I tried to buy was marked 12.99$ it was the only game of that name on the shelf. It rang up at 30$. The cashier, Renee, said it was still a deal at $30 considering it was originally 50$. Not a deal when the item is 15-20$ elsewhere. She looked it up online, same thing. I went back and pulled the item and shelf tag. She blamed customers for putting it in the wrong spot. As did the manager Gus. I had a short discussion about things in the wrong spot and items not in stock. Neither seemed to care or offer to fix it. I was a RZ Elite member. No more. I'd rather spend more elsewhere or just not waste my time with stores that don't take accountability for their actions. STOP BLAMING CUSTOMERS FOR EVERYTHING. It looks/sounds very unprofessional. Renee has been a rude cashier on numerous occasions and not to belittle Walmart, but their worst employee on Black Friday is friendlier than Renee. I bought an Apple computer from Best Buy store #01383 November 28th, 2016. Mind you this is the first Apple computer I have ever owned. I started having problems with it running very slow and coming to a complete stop and freezing. So I brought it to the Geek Squad at the Best Buy in Spring Hill Fl. On October 20th 2017 was the first time I brought it to them to take off a program that did not seem to be running well with the other operations in the system. After I brought it home it ran fine for a day or so... The second time I brought it to the Geeks was on November 6th, 2017. It started to do the same thing as before. Slowing to a crawl, taking three hours to go through my emails which use to take less then three minutes. So the second time I took it to them I asked for it to be completely brought to factory settings.. I guess this team has a problem knowing what that request means.. It took them 8 hours for them to half accomplish their mission because when I got my computer home and reset it up. Not only did it not have the cover I sent it in with, but It also had all the programs that were suppose to be wiped off of it still operating on my even slower computer. WTF is wrong with these idiots. If you are going to charge a customer to have a Geek Squad Plan on their system at least have someone more then the morons that are at the Best Buy @ 1389 Wendy Ct. Spring Hill, Florida Store #1383. But Never Fear. Cause I found with the help of my friends on YouTube more help and information to fix my problem and restored my computer all by myself. I love this location. Geek Squad is knowledgeable and happy to help (very pleasant). You are always greeted at the door and a goodbye on the way out whether you make a purchase or not. I am always approached but an employee when looking around or looking for a specific item. And the employees, for the most part have been pleasant to work with. When looking at computers, the employees have been knowledgeable and they don't necessarily push the most expensive model while looking at different options such as speed and memory.
