I went to Best Buy in Muncie, Indiana on Tuesday March 16, 2021 around 2:15 pm to pick up a laptop and to see which SSD and Graphic Cards. I have trouble bending down and the plastic is a little hard to see though to read the small print. The blonde female did not know anything about computers and could not help me. I am suppose to pick up the motherboard and CPU in a few days. I told her I could give her the model number of the motherboard and she could tell me what you have there and she basically refused because she did not know what will work. I recommend don't put employees that don't know anything about computers in the computer's department and have a station set up that an employee can type up the model number and see what they have that will work. This is the worst location of all. read more

Odd that this didn't show up in the mobile app. The staff were friendly and wanting to help. If I'd sneezed, I think they would have given me tissues. Every time I moved, there seemed to be someone new asking if they could help me. Wow! Of course, this might be like the Richmond, IN store where you're ready to buy something and they're nowhere to be found but helpful when you don't need them. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that they had an Apple section in the store. It wasn't staffed by someone from Apple at the time, but it was there. Since Ball State University is close, they might believe that there are students with money to burn. Of course, H H Gregg was just across McGalliard, so they might take a few of the customers, also. Nothing else was really surprising. It's Best Buy. I expect products and some deals, and that's how this store appeared. read more

This is one retailer that has gone from bad to worse! It seems that it is no longer possible to call the Muncie, Indiana store direct. I tried to call for an appointment to have a stereo removed from a car we are selling. I was told, by an inarticulate foreigner at the corporate call center, that I would have to visit the local to the store to discuss this. With fuel prices what they are, I think this is a ridiculous inconvenience. I could go on and on about bad service and bad products. For instance, the Viper remote starter that caused $1400 damage to the ignition of my wife's car. Then there is the recalled Insignia Air Fryers I bought three of for Christmas presents. I only found out about the recall totally by accident, not from an Best Buy alert! This turned into a fiasco not worth the refund amount. I really miss Circuit City and HH Gregg! read more

I had an issue with my charger (ROG, purchased less than a year ago). Though it took a lot of back and forth with general Best Buy customer service, the Muncie location responded immediately. They sent in a request for a new, free charger (which usually costs between $50-80). After a week, I still had not received it. I let them know, and one worker spent an hour on the phone with the supply company, who did not end up having the charger. The employees at the Muncie location ended up giving me a different charger, a better one, for free and deeply apologized for the trouble. Overall, they turned this frustrating experience into a good one. I appreciate the time and effort that employee and several others put in for this charger. Thank you. Worst customer service and installation. I spent 3 hours at this store getting a remote start installed. The installation was done improperly and I had an appointment scheduled at 2:45 the next day to get it fixed. They didn't get to my car until nearly 4:00, and they had me waiting in their store. They originally only offered a partial refund when I asked them to uninstall the remote start because they installed it improperly. While I was there, I met another customer that had their remote start installed incorrectly as well. Terrible experience overall. I would recommend Ziebart. read more

Wow. BAAAAD experience at the Best Buy today. The woman loading my Mom's sound bar into my rental car was in such a rush to be done with us that despite my asking her to WAIT so I could remove a box of kombucha atop the seat, she powered on through anyway - box toppled, every bottle shattered! $26 down the crapper! She dashed back into the store with nary a word, which made it even worse. We'll see how they do with the sound bar installation next week, but I'm not holding out much hope for these folks. read more

absolutely disgusted with the service. Bought an 'excellent condition' open box TV online, drove 2.5 hours to pick it up only to find it in absolutely horrific condition with missing components. The manager 'Coker' and his minion Chris basically took the stance of 'sorry about your luck' and did nothing to rectify the situation. Came in to the store in dire need of a hotspot due to an internet outage. Had been having trouble all day and bought the Verizon Jetpack 4G Hot Spot which gave me nothing but trouble during set up. Returned to the store in the hopes that an employee could assist in my troubles. All the sudden my king Brad came to my rescue. The Verizon HotSpot was an absolute bust like my hopes and dreams but like the super hero Brad is, he gave a full refund and switched to a Simple Mobile ™ wireless hotspot to which he assisted in the complete set-up process. King Bradley stayed past closing time in order to ensure that the device would be working properly so that I would be prepped and ready to work from home the following day. King Brad needs a raise read more

Happened in both departments and after 20 minutes we left the store! The guy sitting at the front door was too busy reading his computer to even thank us for coming in! The staff is very helpful upon entering the store. I have been here multiple times using my Best Buy gift cards and have been pleased with the service that was provided to me. The customer service team was the best. My Xbox One died a week after buying it. They were able to get my game out of the console without being able to turn it on. They then have me a brand new console right then and there. The only thing that I am not a fan of it the layout of the actual store. read more

I went to Best Buy to buy a 40" TV for the home gym I am building. The only one they had in stock was a TCL. I bought it and when I got home and opened the box I noticed that the instructions were gone, the remote had the batteries already in it, and the TV stand was missing. This TV was used and sold to me as brand new. I took it back and exchanged it for another TV. I opened the box in the store to make sure it had everything before I took it home. After I got the 2nd TV set up and turned it on I noticed that a third of the screen was a different color than the rest. I boxed it back up and took it back to the store to exchange it for another TV. After opening the box of the third TV and seeing that the stand feet were in their own spots in the foam and not in the manual bag like the 2nd TV, I came to the conclusion that the 2nd TV was also used. So, Best Buy sold me 2 used defective TV's before I finally got one that had never been opened before. The TV is OK, but I can't believe Best Buy would repackage a returned TV and try to sell it as brand new without at least making sure everything is in the box AND making sure the TV actually worked first. read more

It was finally time to retire my old flip phone and get a smart phone and a data plan. I worked with a really nice girl named Nikki, at the phone desk. She was smart, nice, and very professional. I thought I knew what I wanted before talking to her, and she listened to what I said and then made a few suggestions. I ended up getting a different iphone than I originally had in mind, and I'm really happy with it. The price and selection was good, but not awesome. Nikki was awesome. I'll recommend Best Buy Muncie mostly because of her good service. read more

The staff at the mobile phone center are extremely slow. They have an attitude that they are not concerned with how long a customer has to wait and they don't seem to know what they are doing. They admit that every customer has to wait a minimum of one hour for service. Don't expect any help from the store manager. You can expect that he will be rude and condescending. Wish I could give Best Buy and geek squad -100 stars. Worse company and customer service ever! Hours of time wasted and they get nothing done. Purchased a dryer with 5 year protection plan on it. The dryer got so hot and scorched the clothes. Called geek squad and the earliest appointment I could get was 10 days away and between 8-12. At 1:30 the repairman finally came. No apologies for being late. He was in and out in 5 minutes and said it was all fixed. I asked him so this fixed the problem now and it won't get too hot again his reply was yes it's all fixed. That evening I ran the dryer and my clothes were scorched. I burnt my fingers on the dryer. Had I gone to bed or left the house we would have most likely had a fire. This is ridiculous! Went to Best Buy the next day and was told we had to call geek squad and set up yet another repair appt. they called back to schedule and we had to wait 9 more days. Today they were to come between 8-12 to repair and at 12:15 we were still waiting. I called the company geek squad set the appointment up with Tel Rad electronics and they said they did not have us on their schedule. Came back to Best Buy again and manager Joey called geek squad again with no resolution. We have spent over 10 hours waiting on the store and at home for repairs. I have a family of 6 I am having to do laundry for without a working dryer. This is absolutely ridiculous! I would never recommend geek squad or buying another item from Best Buy again. They can't do anything in store to resolve the problem quickly and efficiently. Worst experience ever. read more

RIP OFF - - - Bought a Drone + Accessories + Geek Squad (Total of $2016), When Received ALL items Opened and Found Battery to be Defective, 10days after I received, I attempt to Exchange or Return and they are refusing even though I am within time period of 14days (30 days for elite, which we are) for a Refund The Manager is going by the Purchase Date of the Order, but not the Date we Received the Items... I have been calling for 3 days trying to get someone above Derrick the Store Manager that refused to Help me and can get no one, Called the 888bestbuy and they tell me to call the store manager ....... WTF So If I have an Issue with the Store Manager, call the Manager, that makes alot of Sense........ Oh and Pretty Sure this Derrick Manager is Making sure I can't get anyone above him, I called And after 4x they Knew who I was and What Manager I was having the problem with without me identifying myself ..... We used the team at Muncie Best Buy to sign up for our Verizon Family Plan. Confused and condescending, but we got smart phones and out of the store. Now it's is time for an upgrade, so we return. After an extended wait and several sales people telling us they weren't qualified, we were told their machine was down and transfer of data could not be done, so come back. We came back and were told the Verizon system was down. We asked for a raincheck on the deal, and they assured us the deal would be available. We returned the following week and were told the deal was no longer available. After 4 times explaining what happened, and receiveing a blank stare from their commission salespeople, I left the store and I can assure you they don't care. I can also assure you that I won't return. read more
