been a customer for over 25 years - never an issue - ALWAYS look forward to going to the store and spend too much $ there, and love it But today, I may be done. I pay for the extended warranties and the Best Buy Club, I choose the item I need help with on the app, I select Fredericksburg and it asks me to verify stock, yes there is stock. I type in app what is wrong / app tells me to "return to counter for exchange" - drive there / wait in line / told no / ask for manager / told they do not work with app / not responsible for app / will not look at what I am being told in app / after over 1.5 hours waiting and driving there tells me to call customer service.... rude, condescending, irrational, stubborn, just plain dumb are the only way I can describe the managers. They then proceeded to get all dramatic and act like I was a threat - I told them they were ridiculous and because I was upset and telling them they were being ridiculous does not even come close to threatening - their behavior caused the issue and I clearly told them they needed to work with the Best Buy app and store manager said "I am not responsible for the app" and handed me post it note (with incorrect customer service number) Here is the good - customer service on the phone could not have been better. Apologized, looked at the app and my account and could see when I was in the store. Took a lot of notes and got a manager on the phone - gave me a case # and said they are telling store to just replace product. I'm shopping around for new speakers. I went to Best Buy because they have the KEF Q11 and R11 Metas, but they also have the receiver I already own. So the thought was to use their Magnolia showroom to audition the KEFs and maybe get a listen to the Marin Logins and B&Ws they had. First day I went in and they were helping another customer, which is totally cool. came back the next day and the tablet wasn't working. Walked around for 20 minutes trying to find someone to help me. Finally an employee deemed us worthy of their attention. They couldn't get it to work and called for help. Others came to look, with no change. Came back the next day and it was still down. So I waited a week and came back today. The tablet wasn't operational, but I could not get my phone to connect to their Bluetooth. So then I decided to just use one of the Dave Matthew's Band pieces they have in the "Misic" tab. No sound. tried resetting my selections. no change. I then notice that the receivers were offf. So I turned on the one I wanted to listen to. No change. Tried everything I could to get sound out of the speakers with no luck. And through those 30 minutes? Not a single salesperson came to see what the problem was. Not. One. There is literally nobody at the Magnolia entrance. ever. So I left. And I will listen to, and perhaps purchase these KEFs in another store... You're the only store in a large area that has any hifi equipment that can be dialed up to listen to, but the hardware is never working and there is never a salesperson around, despite there being at least 20 of them hovering around the entrance talking to each other. After 13 years of purchasing all of my business and personal electronics through Best Buy 22401, I have decided that I must now switch to another store. The 9/10/24pm manager, JOSH, was so unhelpful, and so Black and White in his approach to customer service that I cannot imagine walking back into a store that felt he could be left alone to resolve service issues. Fortunately, an in-store phone call to the corporate service line reached customer service staff who were flexible, adaptable, and offered many options (THANK YOU LAKSHMI!) She knew how to solve the problem quickly and thus I was able to walk out with my pre-ordered/pre-paid item. Sadly, JOSH could not figure solutions or suggestions to help me, nor could he help me change an incorrect phone number in the Best Buy database or even offer suggestions whereby I could make the changes myself. Nor could he help me change delivery to have my paid item shipped directly to me. He got so dug into his saying "no" to me that he couldn't find any possible solutions to help me in any of the ways I needed assistance. I'm sure JOSH is a nice enough boy. But I surely hope that someone takes him under their wing and gives him some customer service and problem-solving training. Best Buy 22401 used to be such a helpful place to do business. I bought a computer from this location, they didn't have it in stock. They said they could have it delivered to me the next day. The item is being returned because they can't access to deliver the package, I asked if they could deliver to the store and I would pick it up there and they stated no and I have to wait for a refund now. I bought an iPad from this Best Buy store and found that the plug/charger and cable included in the box were the wrong parts. One end of the cable fit into the iPad and the same end of the cable fit in the plug/charger, but the other end of the cable didn't fit either the plug/charger or the iPad. I brought it back to the store to get the correct parts, but the employee at Geek Squad refused to believe me and the manager (Tim) refused to believe me or even sell me replacement parts at my expense. I called the Best Buy corporate office who told me there was nothing they could do to make the manager comply. I called Apple and they also refused to help. I endured a great deal of hostility from Tim the manager, paid an extra $41 for parts that should have been in the box, and had to drive 40 miles to be treated like a liar. We purchased a new television. We scheduled a delivery date and time window. They texted us that they would be at the house about 9:30 a.m. but didn't arrive until closer to 12:10 p.m. This is an important issue for me because I am disabled due to having an anoxic brain injury. The brain injury has impacted my ability to sleep. I also require more sleep. Then when we instructed them that the television to be removed had its cord inside the wall in a pvc pipe and that we wanted the new cord also put down the pvc pipe so it would come out at the bottom of the wall behind a dresser and then get plugged into a plug like the current one (my husband had the string and everything needed to make quick work of the process) they refused, stating something ridiculous about not being allowed to go into the wall because of Virginia law. Since our contractor had previously done just this when the kitchen wall was remodeled and we installed the pvc pipe, I don't believe them. I told them to take their television back and we would not be buying anything from Best Buy ever again. They then had the nerve to try to sell us up with some product kit that would entail rewiring something above the television. They had the attitude that their job would be wonderful if not for having to serve customers. For anyone with a brain cell, most homes do not have cords hanging down a wall because it looks tacky. Had Rexing dash cams (front and back) installed 3/29/25. Now my AC is blowing warm air. AC worked perfectly up until the cams installation. NO coincidence, and NO doubt in my mind that the tech disrupted AC operation. Also, tech's attempt at explaining operation of the camera system was convoluted and confusing. I have a Master's degree, so I'm not an idiot, but after downloading the Rexing app and having the tech rapidly press the buttons on the front dash cam and give me a convoluted explanation, I told him I'd have to watch a YouTube video to get more clarity. Then, after driving around for a day and a half and checking the Rexing app to see video of what had transpired while driving, there was NO VIDEO. So I had to make another appointment for five days hence to have them do this installation over so that, at least, my AC starts working again. And I have no doubt they will push back on that. I am so angry!! They need techs with better communication and installation skills. I do NOT recommend this Best Buy for dash cam installation. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I went in hopes of testing/comparing boze vs Apple AirPod max only to find out they do not have a display to test out the AirPods. I understand them keeping the actual headphones behind the customer service desk for security reasons but the display with the security feature attached to the main desk is appropriate. I went to ask two staff members why and they both looked dumbfounded and responded with no we don't have them. Guy at the front even said you can purchase and bring back in 14 days. My wife, my son, and I visited the Best Buy Store in Fredericksburg, VA to do a return and look at some HDMI cables for 2 4K UHD TVs that I had just purchased. We walked around and looked at a couple of cables and came upon some that I wanted. I talked to a very helpful associate, Tony - from the Magnolia center. He gave me some information about the cables and pointed out some on the floor. I looked at some that were priced $29.00 on the shelf, clearly marked. I picked 2 of them up and said, so, these are $29.00 and was about to look at some others as my son was interested in a cable for himself. Tony responds and says yeah, they're $129.00, I think. I said, no, not 129...there is no "one" there. These are marked $29.00. He basically tells me they were supposed to be $129.00 or $139.00 and that it was not even supposed to be out there on the floor and someone had marked them wrong or put then in the wrong place (there was a whole stack of them there, not just one). It was not a case of a customer setting one in the wrong place after looking at it. Some employee had placed these here marked $29.00 with no individual pricing. He said something about the tag not matching the product. I said but there is no other price and this is what is in this location. I said, so I understand that you need to correct it but will Best Buy honor the price displayed since it was a store/employee mistake? Tony said he could not authorize that but would get a manager and ask if they could approve it. He called a manager and Mike came back. As he walked up he had a disgusted look on his face. Tony explained the situation and Mike just said, No, we can't do that. My wife and I both said, so this is what is displayed that your store/employees have "advertised or displayed" at this price and you won't honor it. "NO!" It's labeled incorrectly, and those cables cost $139.00 and I can't do that. If you want the $29.00 cables they're over there!" and Mike states this in a very rude and condescending manner and points over to some other cables that were apparently cheaper but were also in the wrong place and NOT even priced! They were in an area for "value TVs". I said, so how do we even know the price of those because they aren't marked? He says, "well this is overstocked merchandise and is just out here! He then, apparently gets frustrated and says, if they want them give them to them for 20% off and then just walks off! We have shopped at this store forever and a lot more since we returned to the area after being stationed here and retiring from the military and settling in Spotsylvania but I have never been treated so rudely by a manager. Mike needs more training, a lot more. Well, we decided to ask for the manager senior to "Mike" and we got Brad. Brad came, we explained everything to him and he allowed us one cable for the displayed price and a discount on one other. We decided to accept that as Brad was very professional and seemed to want to help, and he did. Thanks Brad. Thanks Tony. Mike was rude and condescending and maybe needs help with customer service. Someone should address Mike and find out why merchandise is misplaced/mispriced and why Mike took his frustrations out on customers. Maybe management is NOT his thing. After almost an hour with HP support, 6 transfers, 1 manager, and their unwillingness to help me without paying them a fee (keep in mind this laptop is less than 72 hours old), I said I would just have to return it. The young man at the PC counter with Best Buy, Josh, was friendly, courteous, smiled and helped me instantly. He has something you can't teach, charisma. So essentially this review is for both Best Buy, and the Geek Squad. I made an appointment for 3:30pm today. I was there, I was greeted by a Geek Squad member who pretty much knew exactly what was going on with my PC. He ran through what was wrong and essentially fixed it. He also wanted to run through some OS and BIOS stuff before hand to make sure the issue was resolved, so he had me check it in. I asked how long it would take, he said anywhere between 5 and 50 minutes. I waited in the parking lot for 2 hours, and decided to go back in for a status update. I was advised that I go home and wait, keep in mind, STILL NO DEFINITE TIME. I get home and 2 hours later, they're now closed for main hours, but their curbside is still open. I was on hold for close to 30 minutes when someone finally answered. This is also true throughout the day as well, except I couldn't get in touch with anyone. Well the lady on the phone just now, told me it was a max of A THREE DAY TURN AROUND! Like I get that it takes time (not according to the original tech) but if at the beginning I was told this, cool that's fine. But it took me waiting for hours and then on hold and then talking to someone after hours to find out this information. I also throw the store into the mix of this review as it's insane how long you have to wait on hold before your call is answered, considering how many people work at the store. I hate being a "Karen," but it's just ridiculous the lack of communication in the entire process, especially when I've been in this line of work before. If you want my suggestion, go to a local electronic repair shop, give them your business. I'm sure they'll be leaps and bounds more open with communication, you certainly won't be on hold for an hour. Heather was funny and great with my girlfriend and her mom's ordeal with their Sprint phones. She had a great sense of humor and worked out a plan for a iPhone x and and iPhone 8s. We came in a tuesday night and she worked until past her schedule work time. She did not complain at all or pass us off to another associate, even thou she was suppose to be off work. Anyway, I did not bring in the power cord and they said that the "power cord is proprietary and do not have a power cord". I went home, retrieved the power cord (1 hr round trip) only to see, upon my return that they have a shelf full of chargers. Evidently it is store policy "is not to open packages". I understand that, but could me on this is Freakin Geek Squad and they don't have an adaptor? Oh Roger, you absolutely failed in your customer service. The GOOD: good selection, good prices and promos The BAD: the ink I came in for was out of stock, employees not available to help, checkout takes too long I came in for ink and the one I needed was out of stock. In fact, a LOT of ink cartridges were out of stock. There wasn't an employee visible to ask if they could see if they had it somewhere else in the store so I bought black ink instead of the color I needed (because I had a coupon that was expiring). There wasn't a line for checkout but I dislike when I can't just pay for my 1 item and leave. Now I have to answer questions, enter my reward code, insert my card, wait for freaking ever, and finally get my receipt. It took about 2 minutes for me to pay. read more

More often, I'm a cheap nerd, so I don't even want to pay for rush shipping. And in these rare instances, I find myself at Best Buy. Being as nerdy as I am, I don't usually go to Best Buy to get recommendations from employees, because, let's face it: Nerds are arrogant. We know too much about the things we love, and we scoff at those who wear matching uniforms and try to pretend they use the products they are selling. Well, I can say with a straight face that this Best Buy is different. If it were the same, then I probably wouldn't be wasting my video game time writing a review about it. The employees were helpful, and actually knew what they were talking about and where to find the things they were talking about, and if they came across something they didn't know about, they admitted it, looked it up, asked someone, or started reading the manual on the spot. I kid you not. That's a pretty big deal for someone who isn't paid to be nice. The only reason I am withholding a single star on this review is because they tried to sell me a PC one time. Geek Squad Rating: When my laptop shut down right down in the middle of a project, and wouldn't turn back on, I talked to my sister about where I should take it and she recommended the Geek Squad at the Fredericksburg Best Buy. A few hours later, her and I made the trip down to F-burg. I will say that the quality of service was pretty good. The guys there were very friendly, and did have a good understanding of how to fix my laptop; turns out it was just software issue, so all that needed to be done was a program refresh. It was a nice surprise to not be charged anything for their time either. I would have gladly paid, but apparently the service was free...perhaps because it's something I could have easily done on my own. The big complaint I have is with the number of staff that was on duty at the time of my visit. Only one person out of 3 (possibly 4) were actually helping customers. The others just were walking back and forth from the back to the front. This wasn't a problem when my sister and I first got there, because the line consisted on only two people, but after my laptop was set to refresh the line got longer, and longer, and longer. If I had come later than I did, I probably would have left rather than wait. So, if it's not packed, I would definitely take my laptop back to the F-burg Geek Squad. If the line is longer than 2 or 3 people, I'll be taking my laptop somewhere else. read more

Came to bestbuy when the doors opened to purchase a washing machine and possibly a new tv. Upon entering I was greeted with sincerity (we tend to take it for granted). I head immediately to the appliance section as i've already done my research and want to purchase. After 10 minutes of not being assisted, I walk to the service desk near the stainless steel refrigerators and ask someone if they could page someone to assist me with my purchase. The employee was too busy fidgeting with his cellphone and asked me to repeat myself. I do and he says he'll do so. 15 more minutes pass and a customer approaches me to ask if I work here. I politely tell her I am waiting for assistance and engage in small talk (I hate small talk). Other customers begin occupying the area and I see employees rush to their aid. I guess my request for assistance isn't that important. Whatever, I'm patient, but I'm also leaning against the item I want to purchase in a manner too cool for the service I've yet to receive. As I create what will probably be a potential lower back problem, I stare at every employee intensely to see which one is willing to provide me customer service. Another 6 minutes pass. No takers. The customer that assumed I worked here is knee-deep in questions about her dyson. Ive waited roughly an hour and spoke to one employee that I had to approach. The 2 Stars are for having what I want in stock and being open at 10AM. Just my luck, I get a person that complains about the "system" and is another small-talker. At least he's knowledgeable and has a good attitude. I leave the "big box" store feeling that I should invest in Amazon Prime. read more

So, my dishwasher died so I ordered a new one. I just wanted a basic model and this seemed to be my best option. Anyway I ordered and paid for it and scheduled the delivery. I took today off because the delivery window was noon to 8:00pm. It was almost 1:00pm and I get a call from the delivery team that my dishwasher was not at the store. I called customer service and sat on hold for 10 minutes and finally somebody picked up. The poor lady said she didn't know why nobody called me yesterday and I pointed out that they didn't even tell the delivery/installation team. I asked when I could get my dishwasher she said it wouldn't be in stock until October 11. I reluctantly made another appointment for almost 2 months from now but I wonder if they'll call me on that day and say sorry you took a day off work but we still don't have your dishwasher.
