Roadside assistance asked for a destination, and with zero time to research, my brother-in-law suggested Sunnyside Auto Repair. Thankfully, they were just around the corner from where I broke down--and only a mile from home. I dropped it off Saturday evening using their super convenient drop-off form, then braced myself for a long, expensive week. First thing Monday morning, Randy called, got my info, and let me know they'd get to it as soon as possible, maybe Tuesday. No problem. Sure enough, Tuesday morning Randy called again--friendly as ever--and told me it was an easy fix! Not only did they take care of the issue that left me stranded, but they also finally fixed a problem with a rubbing caliper that I had complained about to Caliber Collision, Future Ford, and Midas. Every one of those places told me it was nothing and that I was "just hearing things." Turns out, I wasn't imagining it--Sunnyside listened, fixed it, and gave me peace of mind. They gained my trust by doing it right the first time, treating me with respect, and not charging me an arm and a leg. If you want honest, competent mechanics who actually care about their customers, go to Sunnyside. They turned my worst day into a huge relief.

Brought my jeep in for a squeaky noise issue, my car is fairly new so I was surprised that I was already hearing noises. Tony was friendly, thorough, and honest. Left my car there for a little under 2 hours (he estimated it would take about 1ish but my experience was good and I didn't have an appt and other cars were there so it ended up not bothering me). The good news is that my brakes ended up working perfectly fine, he explained how breaks should work and that mine were in great condition. Unfortunately he said to get rid of the noise he could do a brake a job but that I honestly didn't need one unless the noise is driving me crazy. He test drove it at the end too. And only $45 to check it all out + a free tire rotation- much cheaper than what the dealership told me it would take to have a brake inspection. He also helped my mom with her own car issue and gave her a play by play of the costs and how it would affect her car. Anyways, way to go Tony and Marlin. It's hard to find honest folk in the car business and I think I found my place for any future car troubles.

First of all I have to commend Nezo, the office assistant. He was very helpful and returned my call promptly and looked into all my inquiries, and got back to me with what needed to be done. He reassured me that the mechanic that was certified in Chrysler repair would do the best that could possibly be done. He was right, and the repairs were done correctly. I am like most people, I don't like to feel cheated or robbed. That was what my previous mechanic was trying to do to me. He told me that I needed an a/c compressor and expansion valve that would cost about 1200.00 and a new computer becz my car was overheating. That fix would cost 1700.00 as well. It was overheating becz my previous mechanic upon installing a new radiator and fan Jimmy rigged the wiring and used electrical tape to take short cuts that could have caused a head gasket or pistons to blow if it overheated. The a/c didn't need any parts, nor was it leaking. It simply needed freon. I had a feeling I was being snaked by my old mechanic. The Romita mechanic did the diagnostic work and fixed both issues for 800.00. Unfortunately, most of that was in diagnostic charges. But let me tell you, I at least have peace of mind that the work was done right the first time. I was not raked over the coals and robbed. Also, I will be moving out of state in a few months and the work is guaranteed for 24 months or 24k miles. That is not found in most repair shops here in Fresno. I highly recommend Romitas Auto Repair to anyone who may ask. Also, the place doesn't look like an auto repair shop from the "Chico and the Man" show from the 70s. It's clean, comfortable and there is a Lyft service offered within a distance radius to get home. I'm a disabled veteran on my own, and that is always a problem when you have to inconvenience someone you know for a ride home. Plus, a veterans discount is honored at this shop. Do yourself a favor and don't mess with the local chop shop. You'll be pleased by their honesty, professionalism, and courtesy.

But Phil was calm and spent time to answer my questions about my battery warning issue. Seems he has nailed the importance of this small but huge aspect of customer psychology. For me, it's this initial contact that usually seals the deal in the decision to take the next step. Felt very comfortable after speaking to Phil that they would take a good look and confirm what I was experiencing with the car. Most people nowadays are reading up on the symptoms with AI, and a good shop imo assumes this interaction. Phil gave me a very reasonable quote and confirmed my hunches were on track. Took the car in first thing in the morning and spoke with a gentleman (maybe the owner) who took my report . No one rushed me, which is key for me. I understand that time is money, but so is trust. For most people, this is won or lost in the first conversation. It's tough because people are just not happy to begin with when they staring down a hefty bill, no matter what usually. EA Service nailed it. Felt totally comfortable the whole time that the car was in good hands, and they did why they said. Period. The price was below the initial estimate which was nice. Phil also did not up-charge me for a battery he ended up getting/needing from the dealer. Extra nice. For a first time experience I was very pleased, and I am pretty skeptical when it comes to shops generally. Compared to other experiences Phil and the shop hit every mark. Extra points for communication, which again is huge. Gave me back a clean car fixed right. Earned my business, and can't say enough about Phil, who if you read the reviews, is clearly a huge factor in the customer experience. Super good guy and communicator. The whole thing just felt right and only good things to say about the shop and experience . Give them a try for sure. Great job guys -- thank you!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to share our experience so others can make an…read moreinformed decision. We brought my daughter's 2014 Ford Focus to this shop because it would not start. After their inspection, we were given an estimate and authorized the repairs they said were necessary. During the process, we were then informed that the clutch also needed to be repaired, which significantly increased the cost. Although this wasn't part of the original estimate, we agreed because we wanted the vehicle repaired correctly and trusted their professional diagnosis. By the time everything they recommended was completed, we had spent approximately $3,700. Unfortunately, after all of those repairs, the vehicle still was not operating properly. We then had the car towed back to the shop because the original problem had not truly been resolved. At that point, we were told the issue was actually the fuel pump. This was incredibly frustrating because after spending thousands of dollars based on their recommendations, another major repair was suddenly needed. It left us questioning whether a thorough diagnostic had been performed in the first place. As a customer, I understand that older vehicles can develop multiple problems. However, when a shop performs a diagnostic and recommends thousands of dollars in repairs, I expect those recommendations to be based on a complete and accurate assessment. Instead, it felt like we addressed one expensive issue after another without ever getting to the root cause. I reached out to the owner in writing, hoping we could have a productive conversation and work toward a reasonable resolution. While I appreciate that they did respond, I was extremely disappointed that there was no acknowledgment of the financial burden this created and no offer of any reimbursement, credit, or goodwill adjustment after we had invested so much money and still ended up with a vehicle that was not repaired. Ultimately, we made the difficult decision not to move forward with the additional fuel pump repair because we had already invested more into the vehicle than it was worth. I encourage anyone considering this shop to ask detailed questions about the diagnostic process, request in detailed writing all testing that has been done.
