Sounded like my engine dropped. 300 miles from home it took a lot not to panic. I found reviews pretty good. Jack and Randy gave me great service and told me this is rare situation with my car, however repairable. They gave me an approx. estimate once towed in. It was going to take 3-4. Car was repaired in two days! I was ecstatic. Price seemed fair due to parts & labor. Work is guaranteed for twelve months. I am a happy camper with my car & service here.

I was having an absolutely terrible day when my 2015 Ford Escape clunked to a stop at a red light…read moreand refused to budge another inch. Roadside assistance asked for a destination, and with zero time to research, my brother-in-law suggested Sunnyside Auto Repair. Thankfully, they were just around the corner from where I broke down--and only a mile from home. I dropped it off Saturday evening using their super convenient drop-off form, then braced myself for a long, expensive week. First thing Monday morning, Randy called, got my info, and let me know they'd get to it as soon as possible, maybe Tuesday. No problem. Sure enough, Tuesday morning Randy called again--friendly as ever--and told me it was an easy fix! Not only did they take care of the issue that left me stranded, but they also finally fixed a problem with a rubbing caliper that I had complained about to Caliber Collision, Future Ford, and Midas. Every one of those places told me it was nothing and that I was "just hearing things." Turns out, I wasn't imagining it--Sunnyside listened, fixed it, and gave me peace of mind. They gained my trust by doing it right the first time, treating me with respect, and not charging me an arm and a leg. If you want honest, competent mechanics who actually care about their customers, go to Sunnyside. They turned my worst day into a huge relief.

Oh my dear...this is my 100th review! And it's a 5 star-er :]…read more Ok so I'm a typical girl in my twenties which means car trouble gives me anxiety for a few reasons: 1) I know pretty much zero about automobiles except that tires are the big round things and losing your keys is a pain in the butt 2) I loathe searching for auto repair shops because I'm afraid to be swindled based on my age and gender 3) I usually have to prepare myself for the fat bill that comes with car trouble and have no real idea if the price is right for the thing-a-ma-bob that they are replacing under the hood Enter Marlin & Tony's! Brought my jeep in for a squeaky noise issue, my car is fairly new so I was surprised that I was already hearing noises. Tony was friendly, thorough, and honest. Left my car there for a little under 2 hours (he estimated it would take about 1ish but my experience was good and I didn't have an appt and other cars were there so it ended up not bothering me). The good news is that my brakes ended up working perfectly fine, he explained how breaks should work and that mine were in great condition. Unfortunately he said to get rid of the noise he could do a brake a job but that I honestly didn't need one unless the noise is driving me crazy. He test drove it at the end too. And only $45 to check it all out + a free tire rotation- much cheaper than what the dealership told me it would take to have a brake inspection. He also helped my mom with her own car issue and gave her a play by play of the costs and how it would affect her car. Anyways, way to go Tony and Marlin. It's hard to find honest folk in the car business and I think I found my place for any future car troubles.

Called for first time and spoke with Phil. Usually you get the impression the guy is holding a…read moreflaming gas can and you interrupted his run to the extinguisher. But Phil was calm and spent time to answer my questions about my battery warning issue. Seems he has nailed the importance of this small but huge aspect of customer psychology. For me, it's this initial contact that usually seals the deal in the decision to take the next step. Felt very comfortable after speaking to Phil that they would take a good look and confirm what I was experiencing with the car. Most people nowadays are reading up on the symptoms with AI, and a good shop imo assumes this interaction. Phil gave me a very reasonable quote and confirmed my hunches were on track. Took the car in first thing in the morning and spoke with a gentleman (maybe the owner) who took my report . No one rushed me, which is key for me. I understand that time is money, but so is trust. For most people, this is won or lost in the first conversation. It's tough because people are just not happy to begin with when they staring down a hefty bill, no matter what usually. EA Service nailed it. Felt totally comfortable the whole time that the car was in good hands, and they did why they said. Period. The price was below the initial estimate which was nice. Phil also did not up-charge me for a battery he ended up getting/needing from the dealer. Extra nice. For a first time experience I was very pleased, and I am pretty skeptical when it comes to shops generally. Compared to other experiences Phil and the shop hit every mark. Extra points for communication, which again is huge. Gave me back a clean car fixed right. Earned my business, and can't say enough about Phil, who if you read the reviews, is clearly a huge factor in the customer experience. Super good guy and communicator. The whole thing just felt right and only good things to say about the shop and experience . Give them a try for sure. Great job guys -- thank you!

Two other Hondas and 20 years later, the only thing I can hope for is that Darrel never retires. Sometimes I may take one of my cars in for one thing, and sometimes his staff may find something else wrong that I didn't know about. Then, Darrel will give me his honest opinion if the unexpected problem(s) are requiring immediate attention or expected attention. As long as The Small Car Shop has maintained my vehicles, I've never had one break down and that's important due to my job, the long commutes, and the isolated roads that I somethings drive. Once Darrel's staff repairs a problem, it is fixed. Only one time (in 20 years) that I had to take my car back for something believed repaired, but still needing an additional tweek to the previous repair, and when I returned Darrel quickly made the small adjustment without delay or additional charge. He truly does stand by his work and his word. Since the time that I had moved further away from this location, I still make the long drive to have The Small Car Shop to work on all my cars.
