We are getting tax money back that we didn't plan on and the stars all aligned for hubby and I to finally get to Italy ( this was prior to the Coronavirus hitting Italy) I got on the phone with Lori (or maybe is was Lisa) I told her my husband had 1 week vacation time so we wanted to leave on a Friday and come home 10 days later on a Sunday so we utilized 2 full weekends. I told her places I really wanted to see and said I was flexible on dates as well as itinerary. She asked my name, address, phone number, email, budget etc. and spend about 15 minutes on the phone with me. The. She tells me - get this - "In order for me to put something together for you we charge $150 per person ($300 for myself and husband) I was upset over this for several reasons. 1st: this should have been told up front, not after getting all of my personal information. 2nd : I know my friends did not pay any fees. Then to top it off I have inboxed several of the other Yelpers who left 5 star reviews and guess what? Not a single person had to pay any fees upfront. I asked to speak with manager and she said they do Charge a fee to plan a trip! My friends who suggested this place was appalled when I told them what happened! They did go about 5 years ago and their agent they dealt with was no longer there but what a way to turn off clients.

We wanted a place to stay that was walking distance to the beach and a short drive to the wedding venue - Ocean Lodge was the perfect place! Ocean Lodge is located across the street from a lovely little beach. The area is SO cute! Absolutely beautiful location. The hotel (motel? Not sure..) is very small but perfect in every way! It is so quaint. There is no lobby - the check-in area is a small little office. The staff was so beyond friendly! It is self parking only. There is also a pool which we didn't use, but looked clean. The hotel room was perfect. The setup was similar to a regular hotel, but it didn't feel like a hotel at all! I felt like I was staying in a charming condo. The room had a bed that slept two, a sofa with a pull-out bed, and a small kitchenette with a fridge and microwave. It was super clean and just adorable. There's complimentary continental breakfast which was perfect for us. We only stayed one night but I'd love to stay there again. I rang the bell at midnight the day I checked in. The owner must live on site, because he came to the door in sleeping attire. He took me to my room, and showed me everything. After he left, I started unpacking, and he called my room from the front desk, and asked if I needed water, or anything else. I only have 2 complaints: beds were a little too firm, and the AC was a little too noisy. I knew there was nothing they could do about it, so I just ran the AC all day while I was out and about, and shut it off at night. Slept just fine. I was skeptic at first, about actually having to call and make a reservation, but I am glad I did. Saved a lot of money by staying here, and it got the job done.
