Girona is a great city. It has Roman ruins, thousand year old churches and has a historic Jewish Quarter. We were told some of Game of Thrones was filmed there but we've never watched it.
We walked around the city about five hours. Our visit coincided with a mini heatwave at 36c. We were real hot so we decided on beer, cappuccino and Coca Cola and sat at a shaded pavement table outside this restaurant. They offered a deal that included a cheese & ham sandwich so we took it but fluid was essential so we also stuck with the beer, cappuccino and 350ml Coca Cola with ice and lemon.
The staff were real friendly and helpful. Service was tip top and we sat awhile and watched the world go by. The bill for the three drinks and the sandwich came in around £7. read more
