Near-Miss Due to Incompetent Service - Avoid the Service Dept. Took my Silverado to them for DTC codes: low catalyst system and service parking brake control module. The service team initially claimed that my Silverado's parking brake control module code was simply caused by the catalytic converter code, fully acknowledging the parking brake code when I first brought the truck in. They kept my vehicle for a week and a half and still failed to diagnose the actual issue. I ended up replacing the catalytic converter through a third party. But while driving to work on the expressway at 75 mph, the parking brake suddenly engaged. This could have caused a serious accident. Chris Haroldz insisted the parking brake code "wasn't popping up" during their inspection--even though we had a full conversation about it earlier. Their negligence and misdiagnosis put my safety at risk, and I'm fortunate the outcome wasn't worse. I cannot recommend this service department. My girlfriend and I drove down to McAllen, TX, from Minnesota, thinking our car was in good shape. Unfortunately, on Sunday, the car broke down on the highway, leaving us stranded. We had the car towed to our Airbnb and then towed to the dealership Monday morning when it opened. When we first arrived, the service team didn't mention how long it might take to diagnose the issue. However, after we turned in the keys and paperwork, the service representative, Vanessa, casually mentioned they might look at the car in about three days. This was devastating, especially since it was Thanksgiving week, meaning we might not hear anything until Wednesday or Friday--and that didn't even account for ordering parts or completing repairs. Chris immediately pulled up our ticket and assured us they could look at the car after lunch on Monday, which they did. The issue turned out to be the fuel pump. Thanks to Chris's quick action, the part was ordered the same day and arrived by Wednesday, allowing the team to complete the repair just in time. However, communication with the service representatives remained frustrating. Despite knowing all the effort Chris was putting into getting the car fixed, the service representative called at one point and told us the car might not be ready until Saturday. Thankfully, I had direct communication with Chris, who kept me reassured. When I called asking for him and he wasn't immediately available, he called me back promptly to assure me everything was on track. Throughout the process, Chris maintained a kind and professional demeanor, making us feel like a priority even in a challenging situation. If not for him, we would have faced difficult decisions about how to get back home. It's important to note: Chris is the only reason I'm giving this dealership a 5-star review. If I could, I would notate Zero stars! My parents took their GMC truck for repairs after they were found an oil leak after having it serviced at Bert Ogden. The leak was found after 6 pm in the evening and Bert Ogden closes at 5 pm. When my parents took the truck in to get serviced, Francisco Rodriguez, Service Department, had the audacity to insinuate that the leak was not caused by their servicing but rather than a friend of my father's, who is a mechanic, who had videotaped and found the leak. He was rude and disrespectful and worse they charged my parents for the repair when it was their error in the first place. BUYER BEWARE!! Numbers were agreed on and at the end, all numbers were changed. Items that I had not requested were added on. Close to $10,000 worth. I asked them to take them off as I had not requested those items and I was told it could not be done but I could request a cancellation within 30 days. The gentleman I dealt with walks around with his head hung down. Now I know why. They tell you to sign an electronically signature pad and explain to you "verbally" what you are signing for. You have the right to Request a "PRINTED" Purchase Order so you will know exactly what you are signing for. These people obviously don't want repetitive business. Bought our Kia van from them in November. Buying process takes an inordinate amount of time- simply grueling, and you're given the same lectures trying to convince you to buy added coverages and accessories, despite repeated assurances that you're not interested. But that sort of comes with the territory. The worst part is that they lied to us to get the sale. There was a little piece of interior plastic missing- a bolt cover - on our car. Ingrid, the sales woman, promised us they would order it and have it to us, no problem. It is now 7 months later, and after repeated emails asking why it's taking so long, and being assured it was "ordered", "back ordered", or other excuses, it still hasn't arrived, and Ingrid doesn't respond to us anymore. I emailed Oscar, the relevant manager, a month ago, and have received no response. I have called and left a message, and don't get a call back. The Truck that I worked a deal on was sold before I arrived at dealership with funding request in hand from my bank. I had been asked to come in to pick it up. I had my own financing and this dealer ran my credit WITHOUT MY CONSENT. Both of those are scumbag moves. One of those is illegal per the US Fair Credit Reporting Act. I should have known something was up when the sales guy had us wait about 1 hour before he came back. The price was already worked out. There was no need to keep me waiting that long. Apparently, they don't count on someone receiving multiple alerts from credit monitoring services. WOW, JUST WOW! Whoever is running this place is tainting the reputation of the namesake. Horrible service I've been without a truck for almost 2 weeks and they never call and give you any updates or anything. I had to call and get the information they needed for the extended warranty. I basically had to do there job in order to fix my truck. It would've took even longer if I would've never called. To top it off after I gathered all the information they were supposed to get themselves, and I had to wait another 3-5 days for a part to arrive which they never called me to tell me how long that was going to take. When my truck was finally ready the website says they close at 5 and the service guy failed to tell me that they were going to close early because of the holidays. When you try to get a hold of service they just transfer you to another person and that person doesn't pick up the phone or they put you on hold and say they'll call back and don't. Never taking my vehicle here again for service nothing but problems. I've purchased over 15 cars in my lifetime and also overseas but this was the worst. I felt taken advantage of and ripped off. First contact was alright until the appraisal for our 2021 KIA Soul GT-Line (10000 miles and only 9 months old) was initially $16000 and was able to increase to $17000. The price of the 2021 GMC 2500HD Denali was discounted from $88000 to $86000. We were approved for finance with Chase up to $80000. Our credit scores of almost 800 were used against us to increase the price/markup. I spoke with Diego on Friday 23 July and he would not budge on the $86K with a in-house $2500 protection plan. If I removed it then the price of the vehicle would be $90000. Ridiculous! Not was the VIN discussed or provided in two text messages with pictures of the finance cut-sheet. Then we I showed up at the dealership from Austin (325 miles away) to pickup my 2021 BLACK 2500 did Ms. Salazar drive up with a 2021 WHITE 2500. I was shocked and ticked off. I informed her to go get her manager to discuss this. Diego only offered to provide an extra $500 to the trade-in which would be $17500 now. Ms. Salazar also provided 2 license plate covers. The loan paperwork was handled satisfactory. I went home feeling very ticked off that the MSRP was $80000 and $83000 would have been alright for the black but it was white. Bert Ogden is very deceptive and not transparent. I submitted twice my information on there website to have their owner and GM contact me. One week later nothing. So I contacted GMC chat on your website and filed a formal complaint. Lastly, know I paid $22500 for the KIA last year, the trade-in should have been around $19000 so I decided to use Bert and a alias to conduct some research. I acted as if I was interested in purchasing a new vehicle from Bert Ogden and trade-in my 2021 KIA again. Interesting the value from their website stated $18000 to $19500 and then I received an email from Delilah Fuentes offering $1500 added to the $19500 trade-in of the KIA. This disgusted me further. I don't consider this matter closed and want to discuss this with the dealership GM. My options are to file a formal complaint to the Brownsville BBB and use social platforms Google, Facebook, Yelp, etc. to further comment and discuss the dishonest activities of Bert Odgen GMC. read more

Worst car buying experience ever. The dishonesty that I experienced from the General Manager (Orlie) was enough to make me walk away from a new truck. I was told that my vehicle would be here multiple times, finally after the fourth call, and 3 weeks later they told me it was in. Signed all paperwork and paid $2500 down, sight unseen, allegedly because of the chip shortage, only to find out it wasn't at all what I ordered. The sticker price on this "plain jane" truck was 76k, and the manager was baiting me with the AT4 preferred package 78k only to TRY and sell me a bare bones HD pickup. And on top of all that, was a 5k markup because of the inventory shortage. The sign on the corner says they are pro law enforcement. Don't believe the hype. I made them aware that I was a retired CBP Officer, 25 years in Law Enforcement, which didn't make ANY difference. The best ever experience!!!! We just have to share our experience. Visiting from California our plan was never to come shopping for a brand new vehicle:) But somehow our curiosity sneaked up, to see 2018 Denali so I decided to reach out to dealer near us. I was communicating with internet manager Luis I honestly was very hesitant from experiences in CA, so I made it very clear to Luis on what I was looking for and I really didn't want to be upside down on my vehicle and didn't want to waste my time and get no where. Well to my surprise Luis reassured me I wouldn't and he understood where I was coming from. So make our long story short we met with Luis the next day, he introduced us to George great young man that had already been explained our wants and right away took our car to get it appraised, George reassured us he would do everything possible to get the most for our car and to get us into what we want. He listened and walked with us like we were part of his family, now that blew us away! Coming from Ca we have met some pretty dishonest salesman and only looking out for them self's. The great news we got into a beautiful 2018 Denali XL with all the bells and whistles the price was outstanding!!!! And to top it of when finalizing everything we were introduced to David who sat in new car with us and explained every detail of suv "David must have a part time job as a comedian he's so funny". After all was completed a few days later we get a call from one of the head managers to make sure we were well taken care of. We can't tell you guys enough what an amazing experience we here!!! Went to this dealership today 1/7/19 for the second time (first time was a year and half ago). Same experience a one star rating again. I guess they haven't change. Went in due to an advertisement they had on line for a 2018 Sierra with $15000 discount of MSRP. Like usual you need to qualify for the discounts so I only qualify for $13000 of MSRP but I guess it was to much discount because they didn't want it to honor and on top of that they said they need to sell me the millennium package which I didn't want it (it cost $1800 on top of the MSRP original price.) that's that white sticker they put on the windshield where the dealership can add additional warranties for the vehicle like for the seats if they get dirty and so on. So I told them no. Thank them and told them that I will go to another dealership. Bert Odgen dealerships will try to screw you and not honor what they published and on top force you to buy additional add ons so they can make more money. Be careful and stick to your guns when making a deal that's worth for you, I guess Bert odgen dealerships are crooked, just wants your money in any way. Remember there's more dealerships you can shop around and are honest, transparency, and they stick to their advertisement promises. read more

Service up to the sale was good after that customer service took a tank when purchasing vehicle they was told i would recieve a yeti cooler for the purchase and got nothing because sales rep that took care of me was fired or quit so they could vouch for what he said on top of that purchased side steps that were supposed to be their no later than a week the week past and i kept calling and i kept getting same response that no one new what was going on had to personally head over and give them an earful and all of a suden the side steps were their made schedule to have them installed at 930am and would be completed in half a day again gave them the benefit of a doubt and when 3pm came around and had not recieved a call i called them and again no one new anything about a vehicle been serviced on that was told i would get called back in 15 min 1hr whent by and no one called so i then called the accessories manager at 430 and was told he was with a customer that he would call as soon as he was done 630 came by and i had had enough had to drive my was again and again after i gave them grief they told me that my vehicle would be getting their in 15 min ill tell you i have bought 4 ford vehicles at a competitors dealership and decided to try something new big mistake first and last time that i will ever take my business to Bert Ogden GMC service is no good from the top of management to the bottom the only great service i got was from the driver that took us home he was the most polite man in that entire organization. My accident was August 12,2015. My car was taken to Bert Ogden Mazda because the Buick dealer didn't have a body shop. The car was kept for two months and I was able to get a rental for $4 after insurance for a month. After that I was given a rental by the body shop because they kept my car for so long. When I got the car back there was still issues with the repair sending my car back in for more work. The rack and pinion was replaced and they said because the power steering light wouldn't go out that the rack and pinion must be defective so they kept my car another two weeks while another was ordered. Marcos was in charge of the repair and he was impossible to get on the phone. I left messages and he didn't call me back. I had to put a odor reducing bomb in my car because the odor of BO was very strong in my car after the initial repair. I got my car back finally. I had it cleaned and detailed prior to repair and got it back dirty. My fiance just got his car back after three days from the Chevy dealer and it is shiny and new looking. I am not happy with the attention I got or the length of time it took to get me back on the road. Bert Ogden Mazda did give me a loaner car. I didn't keep one the whole time because I had a stone hit the windshield on the last one and the time before someone dented the loaner in a parking lot. I don't like to use rental cars because anything can happen and you're responsible. Feb 15 I picked up my car for the last time. I am hoping this is the end of my ordeal. read more
