Saying I'm satisfied with my results is an understatement! I just completed Sparks (similar to Invisalign) with Dr. Berro, and I am very happy with my final smile. I had straight teeth, but poor bite, which partially led to a failure to an implant. Therefore, I had to do ortho do improve my bite prior to replacement of the implant. As a general dentist, I've worked with a lot of orthodontists, and I would have to say Dr. Berro is one of the ones I truly respect for his skills/proficiencies, knowledge, and professionalism. As a patient, I truly appreciate his bedside manner, meticulousness, and patience in explaining the treatment, and keeping me informed in the progress. They always have fresh cookies and coffee while you are waiting. After my daughter got her braces in they called a few days later just to ask how she was doing. I have severe bone loss due to stupidity and laziness not going to dentist enough. Anyway, I had braces as a kid and teeth were crowded again. With close monitoring by my periodontist and frequent cleanings at dentist, Dr. Berro was able to gently and gradually straighten my teeth. They are probably better looking than the first time. My periodontist (Dr. Matinfar) said teeth and mouth look good and there was no bone loss by straightening. I am so happy with the results and their cautious approach! Dr. Berro and his team are awesome! If you're in a similar situation - have severe bone loss, but still want straight teeth please consult with your periodontist. If you get the green light, definitely trust Dr. Berro with your teeth/mouth! FYI, I'm 53 and the trays his office uses are not very noticeable. read more

I decided to go with Dr Berro based on the recommendation from my dentist, our in person consultation with him, and the positive Yelp reviews. My expectation was that my daughter would be taken care of to correct her bite and straighten her teeth. I didn't want any hassle and just expected everything to go like I experienced with my original orthodontist 26 years ago. Our initial October 2020 visit had all the brackets and bite blockers installed. About 2.5 weeks later the bite blockers broke off and they still continue to break off every time after they are installed. Additionally, the brackets loosen and fall off forcing us to call and schedule for fixes. The staff are very nice and apologetic about the situation but these fixes take time out of our life to resolve. This is a big hassle as the office appears extremely busy and unable to accommodate scheduling for immediate fixes at times for us. One time we did wait up to 3 weeks for fix/repair. This would not be an issue but the brackets have fallen off three times in the last 8 months. When I had my braces, I never had this issue. I only went in for my monthly check up and got them tightened. At times they would clip wires or provide wax if I experienced any pain and were quick to get me into the office to resolve. This is an initial review based on 8 months of service and I do hope to update it. i need reflect our reality as I counted on Yelp, dentist recommendation, and original consultation for our decision. I know Dr Berro and staff are trying to do a good job but our experience has been less than stellar. It may be due to COVID or other issues, but just reflecting our experience. I am looking forward to completing this process and seeing the final results of the treatment. read more

I am 67 years old and have had braces 2 other times in my life. Recently, I found that my bite had shifted and it was recommended to me by my dentist to consult with an orthodontist. Had my braces removed back in 2008. Called to make an appointment for a new retainer since mine was over 12 years old. Dr Berro looks the same as he did over a decade ago! Horrible experience. Dr Berro was extremely rude to my 12 year old and to me. Told me we should remove my sons braces because he lost a few brackets between visits claiming he never seen so many fall off in all his life. Total lie. ( I've had braces and loosing 6 brackets over 8 month period is not excessive). He got his payment in full from my insurance so he wanted us gone. He claimed he would reimburse my insurance partial payment but NEVER DID!! To top it off, my son would overhear the Dr complaining to his assistant that my son was back again for a problem. Totally unprofessional. My poor son felt awful. Avoid this office by all means possible!!!! The front office staff were the only ones in the office that were very nice. read more

My 7 year old daughter became a patient of Dr. Berro's in August and so far the experience has been fantastic. Her pediatric dentist wanted her to be seen due to a significant overbite. He gave me the name of a few orthodontists in the area that he trusts, and we ultimately decided on Dr. Berro after speaking to my own dentist who had nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Berro, he did the orthodontic work for his children and told me that Dr. Berro actually tends to see a lot of dentist's children. He placed 4 braces on her top teeth to align them prior to her getting the "twin block" retainers to treat the overbite. The price didn't change with the addition of this extra step and the interest free financing is very affordable. My daughter received the twin block on Thursday and indicated some discomfort with the device the next day. I called and they happened to be open this Saturday so we came back in. I honestly thought my daughter was just getting used to the device, but Dr. Berro made adjustments two times to make sure that she felt comfortable with it. The office staff is all fantastic and I'm happy with my decision to choose Dr. Berro. read more

At 58 years old I finally decided to get braces/Invisalign. I had another consultation long ago with another Orthodontics down the street, who at that time wanted to extract some teeth, and put in full metal braces. I was hoping to avoid that. I was referred to Dr. Berro through my hygienist, and both my daughter and myself had a consultation. This would be the second set of braces for my daughter, first time with Dr. Berro. We both enrolled with Dr. Berro for Invisalign and both of us are super happy that we got our smiles back. My two front teeth were really the ones that always bothered me, as they crossed over pretty dramatically, and I hated to have my photos taken because that is all I saw. Then my jaw/my bite started bothering me, and in most photos I stopped smiling all together. I just got my brackets off last week and waiting for retainer, and I am quite pleased with the end result. First and foremost this review is long overdue. It all started when I was looking for a good primary dentist on yelp. I love yelp and use it for all things, and truly take the advice of my fellow yelpers. With that said, through yelp I found my amazing dentist Dr. Hosena which subsequently referred me to Dr. Berro for orthodontic treatment. I am truly lucky to have found Dr. Berro and his amazing staff, and after 2 1/2 years of coming to a office that I consider family, it is bittersweet to have come to an end of my treatment. Berro has always been accommodating in every which way possible. I am a busy women, working full time, finished an RN degree and a proud mother of a 1 year old, and this office always had time for me and worked around my busy schedule. Days I would be running late from work, they were always understanding. And when my insurance company tried to not pay my coverage when I was out on maternity leave, the office went above and beyond to help my insurance company pay up. "Keeping it in the family..." My mom brought me to Dr. Berro, back when he was in Long Beach on Long Beach Blvd., to get braces when I was 13 years old. Now 21 years later, I am bringing my 8 year old daughter to get braces. Dr. Berro and his staff are very professional and knowledgeable. What I enjoyed most as a kid coming to his office, which helped me ease the fear of getting my braces tightened, was playing the game boy while waiting in the chair. Fast forward to now, at the new location, still a kid-friendly office with a video game room. Nice staff nice place. However, Dr. Berro was not very helpful with an issue regarding my jaw alignment. I felt he did not take the time for correct evaluation nor did he take time to consider what the issue may be. After I told him my goal was more for health reasons opposed to aesthetics, he began to brush off everything I told him. He recommended that I should keep a forward head tilt (which is bad posture) in order to close my mouth. Even after I told him this causes me neck pain and makes it harder for me to breathe. What made this experience worse, is that although I came in for an issue regarding jaw alignment he never attempted to evaluate the alignment of my jaw. When I had further questions, not only did he not answer them. He said something along the lines that, 'my questions were out of his league'... I'm not sure what an orthodontist does, because this was my first appointment, but I'm positive the first impression that I received is not how it should've went. read more

I went in for a consultation. Very nice office and nice staff. Dr. Berro came in to consult with me for a very brief time. He was cordial but I didn't feel that he listened to me. He made his diagnosis and that was it, case closed. My input was dismissed. I had the greatest orthodontist when I was a kid. Dr. Bunker in Naples was open-- he listened and he was receptive.
