They offered me an extended warranty for around $2,000-$3,000, claiming it would cover the engine, transmission, differential, and more. I paid about $13,500 total with a $5,000 down payment. The same day I drove it home, the front tire started smoking -- the brake caliper was seized. I took it back, and they said they'd fix it in a few days. They also promised me two free tanks of gas, which they later refused to honor. Not even three weeks later, the alternator went out. When I went back, they said the warranty didn't cover it because "the alternator isn't part of the motor." I ended up replacing it myself. About a month later, the engine started ticking, and they kept telling me it was "normal," which it clearly wasn't. Eventually, they agreed to take the truck back and refund my money. I brought the truck and title back the same day. Then they told me it would take two weeks to get my refund because of the bank. Two weeks passed -- nothing. Two more weeks -- still nothing. They kept giving me excuses like "it's stuck in the mail." When I went back again, I found out they had already sold my truck -- even though they still hadn't refunded me. They kept blaming the bank, saying they didn't have the title, even though I personally handed them the title when I returned the vehicle. This dragged on until December. At that point, I asked an older friend to go with me because I felt like they were taking advantage of me for being young and Latino. When we went in, the assistant manager was rude and dismissive, and it quickly turned into an argument. He even admitted that they "sell cars without titles all the time", which is illegal. The next day, they finally told me I could pick up a check -- but it was only for my $5,000 down payment. They refused to refund the two monthly payments I had already made. I didn't argue anymore because I just wanted the nightmare to end. This whole situation was unprofessional, dishonest, and stressful. Anderson Mazda sold a vehicle with problems, refused to honor their own promises, and handled everything irresponsibly. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind -- stay far away from Anderson Mazda in Lincoln.

We received a faulty repair job from this shop that caused a brake failure at 45mph. We got a…read moresecond opinion from a more trusted mechanic who said that Zig had left a piece of the old brake pad lodged up against the rotor, which chewed up the rotor. The second opinion also stated that the Caliper had been poorly installed with what looked like intentional stripping on the screws. Additionally, the second opinion (as well as about an hour of research based on part numbers) show that his mark up is over 100% in nearly all cases, sometimes reaching north of 200%. A standard markup of 25%-50% is expected, but this is absurd. I approached Zig about this while being as polite as possible, scheduling a time where he would be free to chat. I talked about the markup first, he refused to provide invoices or markup rates. Upon presenting the evidence of an incorrect installation, he offered $50 out of his pocket for the new brake pads without admitting any fault, saying it would be impossible for him to make this error. I politely declined given his repairs were over $500 (the other shop we took it to re-fixed everything with better results and half the price), and he told me to "get the f*ck out". He refused to view further evidence when offered. With this many reviews bringing up small claims court, I would say its safe to stay as far from this business as possible. Some have said "you get what you pay for", while commenting on Zigs poor quality, but we did not even receive that. We received bottom of the barrel service that resulted in a life-threatening situation, and a slap in the face.

I already knew it was out. I wasn't asking them to "diagnose" it like it was some mystery problem. They charged me $57 for the oil change, then turned around and charged me $180 as a "standard service fee" just to tell me the pump was out and needs replaced... which is exactly what I told them when I walked in. When I brought it up to Kevin (service advisor) and asked what that $180 even covered, he said they might check wires and connections but when I asked what they actually did on MY vehicle, he had no idea. How are you a service advisor and you can't explain what was done, but you're still forcing a $180 charge? Kevin was also rude as heck about it. This is exactly why auto shops have the reputation they do because places like this will charge you almost $200 for nothing and act like you're the problem for questioning it.

At first, I was happy that David, the owner, was going to try to get a fuel tank second hand so it wouldn't have been as expensive. He told me he would have it finished within a week- great! Turns out the fuel tanks they ordered were delivered wrong and they had to order them again and wait for delivery; understandable but eventually my patience was wearing thin and could tell they were grasping for straws and feeding me bullshit. All the while, they kept finding "new" problems with my vehicle. They said they needed to fabricate a new heatshield, fix the muffler + exhaust, and then they started working on fixing a engine light that needed about $600 worth of work; however, everything they tried didn't work so the engine light is STILL on. Once everything was installed and looking good, suddenly they found a cable that was melted that absolutely NEEDED to be fixed- they wouldn't take no for an answer. That added another week. The people working the front desk were the most incompetent people I've ever met. I would call and ask for an update and they would say "let me get David" just for David to tell me nothing is updated after 15 minutes on hold. One time, I went in to grab something from my vehicle; I asked the front desk person for my keys to get something and they said "let me ask David." I waited around for half and hour for him to pick up the keys (sitting right in front of the front desk person) and hand them to me. The communication was awful. I would call and then they wouldn't call me back. David would call me probably once or twice a week to explain the same thing he explained 20 times to me already. He was definitely over diagnosing my vehicle, which is a common factor in several reviews for this company. I would ask how much it was going to cost, and he would say let me check and then didn't end up giving me a straight answer until a week before the vehicle was finished. He told me it would be done by the afternoon, and then I came to pick it in the evening and then he said it will definitely be done the next morning, but then didn't call to confirm until the next evening. Finally (two months from when I dropped it off) it came time to pay, the bill was $2900. I asked if they did payment plans and David said no we don't really do payment plans, you HAVE to pay up front OR as they were fixing it (that would have been pretty hard because he never told me a confirmed cost). I asked if there was a fee for credit cards and he said no but if you pay up front I'll knock the bill down to $2800. Luckily I had the money, if I didn't my vehicle would probably be one of MANY sitting in their lot. Overall, it felt like my vehicle was being held hostage and I was pressured into agreeing for upgrades my vehicle didn't need. Looking at the reviews, it seems pretty hit or miss. If you have a tire you need replaced, that's an easy fix; but anything else, they're pretty incompetent.

Instead of looking at the code and trying to diagnose what would cause it, they started changing out spark plugs (not with the recommended OEM spark plugs either), They have now got his car to throw different codes, which tells me they did not take it for a drive to confirm they fixed the issue. I feel bad, since I am the one who recommended them. That was based on a friend's recommendation from 10 years ago. I guess the times have changed!
