Dr. McGraw dentistry is one of the best dentist studios that I've been in. He is always super friendly and lots of smiles. His staff is knowledgeable, his place of business is clean, and they aim to please you. He has been my dentist for over 10 years now and I highly recommend him and his staff to everyone that I know. The thing that I like the most about them is that they try to work around my busy day in my schedule to fit me in. What I recommend them to anybody, the answer is a definite yes. I had some crowns that needed to be replaced. They were chipped and cracked and were a major pain. I went to a different dentist and it did not go well. I spent the next 6 months in pain while while not being able to chew on my back teeth. I went to McGraw to double check the work. He was honest and told me it was bad work. Encouraged me to see my old dentist and get a refund. I did McGraw then went about fixing things. Within 2 weeks I was 80% better and within two months I was back to normal. Fixed my teeth with. Or painful side effects and he did it cheaper than the old dentist. He's the best!! read more

After 3 years with this guy, and liking him (for no reason; he has no personality whatsoever) I received a letter "firing" me. "We have obviously lost the doctor patient relationship." WHAT??? I could understand if there was a disagreement or a payment issue, but this was out of nowhere. And, not even in person. A LETTER. Yes; I was shocked and probably expressed some doubt about the diagnosis (BTW... the endodontist AND oral surgeons completely disagreed with him about the tooth in question! I was RIGHT!) I brought at least 5 new patients to this jerk. Yes; he is cheap, but you get what you pay for. ALL of these 5 star reviews have to do with his cheap prices.. And, don't tell me a regular dentists does implants as well as a specialist. I despise this guy. If you don't want so many patients, then don't take them on!!! ANOTHER reason I am thrilled to be leaving the Santa Cruz area. read more

I've been getting my dental work done by Dr. McGraw for many years now. His work has always been perfect and, importantly for me, he has a gentle touch when working in my mouth; I've never felt any pain and I've needed my share of fillings & crowns over the years. None of the half dozen or so dentists I'd seen before him had that easy manner. He's easy to talk with too; we usually share stories about cycling, swimming, or vacations after he's explained what work I might need and my options to get it taken care of. His staff is top notch too. It's obvious they are "family," they get along so well. I especially appreciate Antoinette, his office manager. I feel completely cheated out of a good dental experience from all previous dentists that didn't know what they were doing. This is regarding the excellent service provided by Dr. Bernard McGraw, DDS, of Scotts Valley, CA. Several months ago Dr . McGraw inserted a bridge over my two lower front teeth. At first, the procedure seemed fine, but after a few months of the bridge placement, my wife and others noticed a change in my pronunciation and vocal sound quality. Upon pointing this out to Dr. McGraw, he agreed that something was not right. After examination, he determined that the lab which made the bridge had done it inaccurately. Dr. McGraw assured me that he would "make it right", which he did at no cost to me. I appreciate the integrity of Dr. McGraw in this matter. read more

We LOVE this dentist! My mother who does not have insurance and is low income had to get an emergency appointment to extract a tooth that was causing severe pain. Even though we were not patients, Dr. McGraw got her in right away and did an excellent job within her very limited budget. I would highly recommend Dr. McGraw. I've been a patient of Dr. Mcgraw since he came to Scotts Valley, which is a long time, and I highly recommend him. He is a great dentist and also has a good way with people - it really shows that he cares about his patients. He's also very understanding when it comes to pain - he double checks that everything is completely numb before starting anything, and during procedures he asks frequently to see how you're doing. His office staff is also very nice, and, more importantly, they are competent, which in my experience is rare in medical office staff these days! The main woman who runs the office, Antoinette, has been working there the entire time I've been a patient, so she knows how to run the business. read more

Great office, the most up-to-date equipment (an X-Ray device where you stand and the machine moves around your head; they don't put uncomfortable little things in your mouth). Excellent dental hygienists; for the first time in I don't know how long, a cleaning didn't hurt at all, even when she was scraping between my bottom front teeth, which is a very sensitive area. I've been a patient of Dr. McGraw's for a couple of years and I think he's a terrific dentist. He has all the latest and greatest technology, including the easiest and most comfortable X-ray machine. Just stand and bite on a small tab while the camera travels around you. No having to hold uncomfortable, and sometimes painful, film cards in your mouth! I recently changed insurance plans & had to find a new dentist, I settled on Dr. McGraw due to a few postive reviews, their somewhat-flexible office hours & location. I had an issue where three of my teeth had "pits" in them. These pits were stain-magnets -- they were impossible to keep clean. Prior to last month, I'd seen three different dentists over the last several years. Although I considered each to be pretty-good, none offerred a solution for my problem that didn't cost $1100/tooth. From the time I arrived at the office for my first appointment, Dr. McGraw's staff was professional and courteous in every possible way. It's as-pleasant-a-place-to-visit as a dental office can be. When I asked Dr. McGraw for suggestions on how to deal with my problem that didn't require expensive veneers, he suggested a solution that would be about 1/5 of the cost, and was almost-certainly covered by my insurance. Taking no chances, the receptionist submitted the paperwork for pre-approval by my insurance company; I didn't have to do anything. The staff is very-courteous and very-professional, and they hygenist did a terrific job of cleaning my teeth. When I came back to have the work done, I was in-and-out of the office in less than 30 minutes, and my problem was completely fixed. I recently received my statemet of benefits from my insurance company, and the coverage was exactly what I was told it would be. (No "bad news surprise"/denial of benefit.) I've never posted on Yelp before, and I don't know that I'll ever do it again, but the service I received from this dental office exceeded my expectations in every possible way. I'm exceedingly grateful to Dr. McGraw, and encourage anyone seeking quality dental care in Santa Cruz County to give him a call. read more
