We recently found ourselves in the position of having to rehab a house in Bristol. Soon after we arrived we found out that there was NO oil in the tank. We called Berkshire oil after seeing their sign on Stafford Avenue. A very nice woman answered the phone and took care of us right away. She also sent a technician over to the house to restart the furnace since it had run out of oil. We not only had our first delivery and service experience, we also got the oil at a great price! Been getting oil for FOUR years from this company..... FOUR!! That being said, I've only encountered issues these past 12 months..(in lieu of new management) Not much you can review an oil company on, other than; getting your oil on your delivery date. A month ago, I had an issue with my boiler. Called Berkshire Oil. Guy on the other end gave me a hassle cause he had to go out at night and try to solve the issue. Sounded drunk on the phone, and wouldn't return any of my follow up calls, after a garbled bunch of nonsense concluded with the phone being hung up. Not sure what happened, I called back. No answer.... Went to solve my issue myself. An hour later a random number calls and says he is outside. I was not home at the time, but my neighbors all described a completely inebriated individual walking though yards yelling into houses if it was "-- ----- street) looking at the houses for my address. Besisides complete humiliation telling my neighbors Berkshire Oil sent some drunk guy out and has no clue where he is, I feared for my other neighbors, as it was past dusk and a stranger is walking through their yards up to their house yelling. THAT being said: Berkshire Oil cannot even fulfill the simplest of obligations. (i.e. calling your correct phone number, taking down your card info) Both numbers they had were wrong. They cancelled my delivery. Not once did anyone have the foresight to actually check what their customers information actually is, and if they had actually made a mistake. Now I'm left filling up with diesel til a reputable company can make their way out to me. Thank god for a pellet stove. Buyer beware. Stay away from Berkshire Oil in Bristol. read more
