Got a confirmation E-mail stating order would be "processed once payment was confirmed" (odd, since CC payments are generally automated these days). Next day, I got what appeared to be an automated E-mail (no name or phone number, DoNotReply sender) stating that their "policy" was that I would need to come to their store in person to confirm identity & credit card, and that the item was a special order (not in stock after all, I guess!). Since it's a 4-hour drive each way, going there twice defeats the purpose of an online order... When I called to try to clear things up, "Jack" told me the item was not in stock and that there appeared to be a pricing error (more alarm bells start up in my head). After consulting with his manager, he did call me back, to tell me that the part number is not on the Kitchenaid site, so they can't even order it, and they don't have it in stock. I just went back on their site, and they still list that exact part number listed (KFID948SJP), but at a much, much higher price, of course. When I expressed my displeasure and asked to speak to a manger, it went to voice mail. The only excuse offered was "the website is pretty automated". I get that mistakes happen, but reputable stores make some effort to make it right with the customer. A retail store is responsible for their advertised pricing.

This was my first in home appliance repair call ever. Being a big fan of wizards of any type, I gave the Washer Wizards a call. The owner answered and gave me a quick quote on the phone. He had a pretty good knowledge of most major brands and their common problems. I agreed to his price of $450 to replace the motherboard. Within the hour, he showed up at my door with the new board and his helper/wife. As he did the repair, his wife would hand him the proper tool. The repair took about 30 minutes and I paid the bill. After paying I mentioned a weird noise I often hear in the fridge. The Wizard spend an extra 20 minutes opening up the front of the fridge to repair the quirky noise.. NO CHARGE! I would highly recommend the Wizzard. He is very knowledgable, will go just about anywhere, and will be there quick. A++
