There is no doubt that Eli, the owner of Berkeley Supply has great taste and has curated a beautiful selection of men's wear. From the most comfortable sweat pants I've ever owned (Reigning Champ) to some very fashionable Japanese lines and even a small selection of beautiful boots and footwear. However, there is something more important than all those things, as a customer: The integrity to stand behind what you sell. And that, in my experience is what sets the standard for who to trust with the money you spend. Here's what happened: I purchased about $2000 worth of clothing from Eli's shop over a 2-3 week span the last time I was in Denver. At first I was stoked; Eli even threw in a couple of t shirts for free when I made my first purchase. That was very cool, and a nice touch. However, about a month after I left, one of the pairs of pants I bought split at the seem in the butt. Since I paid a considerable amount of money for these pants, I was surprised. But, things happen even to great brands. I fully expect a shop owner to be helpful in that situation. Wouldn't you? I called Eli's shop and explained what happen and asked for a return phone call so I could exchange them or whatever. Now, here's where the story gets REALLY interesting... For 7 months I received no response from Eli or anyone at Berkeley Supply. And my first review of this Eli's shop was 1-star as a result. But then, out of nowhere I got a message on yelp from Eli himself. He apologized sincerely for not getting back to me. Whether the team member didn't tell him about my call or whether he forgot to call me back, doesn't matter. He owned the fact that it didn't happen. And it should have. He immediately offered to replace the pants I bought for free. No questions. No hassle. I don't live in Denver right now. He was even willing to ship them out to me in Virginia. That is the type of commitment I look for in companies I enjoy doing business with. I fell out of menswear for a while but stopped by here to see recent trends/brands. Unfortunately that visit kind of ignited this hobby/passion again. They offer a fair selection of high quality mens wear, whether you're looking for raw denim, leather goods, high quality shirts, boots or workwear. Everytime I've been around the owner is there and hes a chill dude. Hes always looking to help his customers out and he has always offered me a deal when I help support em(I usually end up here on sale days). He offers competitive pricing and really just wants you to support his shop and the brands they carry. Really respect his outlook and customer service. I bought a 3sixteen sweatshirt for $200 here and it fell apart in under a year. I have taken care when washing up (never put it in the dryer, etc.) so it seemed like a mfg defect or just poor quality. One bad product isn't the store's fault but my customer service experience with them was awful. I brought it in twice and both times the owner Eli told me it was normal wear and tear and that I had gotten plenty of use out of it. He did try to repair it once but the repair came back sloppy looking and has already started to come apart. This store advertises quality products that last. Stopped in as an avid raw denim fan. Wasn't necessarily in the market for new jeans but ended up chatting with the owner, Eli, for awhile. Very friendly and knowledgeable. He has a good selection of denim and plenty of other quality goods to check out. After trying on several pairs of jeans I headed out. After being gone for about an hour I realized I left my keys in the changing room. I went back and Eli had them up at the front of the shop waiting for me.
