I scheduled an appointment to have my recalls taken care of on my 2021 F-150 Lariat a few weeks in advance. Cassidy worked with me to get an appointment that would work. Very much appreciated! They texted me to make sure we could communicate and confirm the appointment. I never heard anything regarding a problem with the appointment. Took my pickup to the dealer at the 9:00 a.m. scheduled time. My wife followed me to pick me up so I could leave the pickup for them to repair at their convenience. Spoke to the young lady in the service department and she casually said "we're not doing recall work at this time". Apparently, they don't have the personnel to handle that work. Hmmmm....would have been nice to get a text or call. She just looked at me and restated their position. She had no idea when they would have a tech certified to do the work. I understand labor is tight, but for the love of what's right, communicate with the customer. Note to self: call to confirm prior to driving to location. First time I've had trouble like this when the vendor has my contact number for a text etc. Others have been fantastic about it, not these guys. Still looking for a good dealer to do the work. read more

After having a horrible experience at another area Ford Dealer I went to Berkley Ford. Worst experience ever. Woman are treated so different than men buying cars at Berkley Ford. The salesman made three appointments at my time and left me in the room while he took care of the others, who happen to be male. After purchasing my brand new car I noticed scratch marks on the drivers side of the car, my salesman told me to go to the store and buy buffer stuff myself and get the scratches out. I drive home only to find out that items that were included (as it was my request) in my car were not. The salesman told me I should have spent more money. If you are a female beware of going yourself to Berkley Ford, they will rip you off. read more

Went to trade in my old Ford for a new one. I hate when the salespeople are gathered together like vultures but I do appreciate an acknowledgement so I know who to talk to when I want to make a deal. That didnt happen at Berekely. Must have been to cold to make a sale so I'm taking my business elsewhere. read more

Let the buyer beware, i was at another dealer that offered me $16000 for my trade in that i thought was low. Looked it up on Kelly Blue Book and $16000. Was close, Berkeley offered me $13000.00 for the trade in, not even close. Disappointed. read more

I bought an all-electric car recently. The salesman, sales manager and credit manager were all great guys. I was treated with the utmost respect and fairness. However, I was told the the battery had been charged overnight and it had not. This resulted in a white-knuckled ride home because the battery was low and I was getting low battery warnings several miles before reaching home. read more

I recently brought my car in due to an engine light. I was told by not to worry it could be one of 2 things it could be bad gas or catalyst converter and was told by Steve Saturday that there is nothing to worry about right now if it is bad gas the light engine light will cut off when I get new gas (if that is the problem) if that does not fix the problem then the problem will be researched and fixed. I got new gas and the engine light did not come back on. Steve Saturday gave me excellent above and beyond customer service. He is the Esprit de Corps of Berkeley Ford, they should be thankful they have an employee like Steve. I would highly recommend Berkeley Ford !!! read more

We bought a new Ford Flex from Mr. Hank Williams and were so impressed with him and the dealership as a whole. We were in a very difficult situation with an extra car we no longer needed and he helped us get into the perfect family car. As is car shopping, it was an all afternoon affair and everyone there made us feel right at home. We had to come back a few days later to have a minor issue looked at and Hank even took the time to pick out a small doll for our 4.5 month old little girl. We couldn't believe he would remember her in his own free time. It was so incredibly thoughtful. It showed that he truly cared about doing business with us. We will always remember how nice and welcoming everyone there was. By far the best dealership we have ever been to and if anyone needs a car, we will be sure to send them here. Thank you again for a wonderful experience! read more

For the car services department: I have been having multiple appointments since may and Berkeley ford has been cancelling them multiple times again and again. Saying I don't have an appointment when I called and made one. Then when I had the appointments they always ended in disappointment and frustration. The first time they kept the car their a couple of days and didn't notify me of the situation that I would have to wait weeks for the parts to come in, the second time they kept it there when they didn't have any workers working on it and didn't notify me again that it wouldn't be able to be worked on for two weeks. Recently I've had to make yet again another appointment and I confirmed with the guy that they had the parts and the insurance confirmed everything and that it was ready to be worked on. However I took my car as of almost three weeks ago now and with no update. I have called and called and every time either no one has answered or willing to give me a proper status of my car and how it's coming along. A week ago I had to take a rental car that my insurance provided for seven days in the meantime since I have to get my kids to and from school and complete other important things like grocery shopping and medical apportionments. A week ago I also got information that my car would be ready that Friday or Monday but it wasn't and then was said to be delayed and would be ready Wednesday of this week. Yesterday I called and finally got the disappointing update that they haven't even started working on it and that is my last straw. This has been an overall very frustrating and disappointing experience and I hope no one has to go through this. It has been Months , MONTHS That I haven't been able to get my car fixed. I am now no longer willing to trust this dealership since it has disappointed me again and again on their services and communication with their customers. I am truly angered by this situation. read more

We bought our car from here and for some reason the drivers side door, open door sign never goes away. Even when the door is firmly closed the open door light stays on. So we took it back TWICE to have them fix it, considering they are a Ford dealership and it is a Ford vehicle. And BOTH TIMES they told us they couldn't do anything for us. Absolutely, ridiculous and terrible customer service. I wouldn't recommend this dealership to anyone. read more

Stopped by Berkeley Ford as I was on Vacation and the engine light came on in my 2011 Ford F-350 diesel pickup. After stopping at another local Ford dealer they told me that they couldn't get me in for four days which prompted me to go to Berkeley. They got me in right away and after waiting for parts my vehicle was fixed the next day. def fluid heater. Berkeley told me that I could make it home without fixing it, which was refreshing, but I fixed it anyway. At least I knew they were honest about the repair. Got the truck back and they also had a 15% coupon for repair work which took some of the sting out. I would go back there again. Very happy read more

Great place to get my truck fixed. Great customer service and timely repair.

Recently purchased a used Toyota Tundra and during the negotiation process the salesman, Duffy Skinner, showed me a nada spec sheet which included two options that were valued at more than $1,500 that were not in the truck. When I called him he says that it was an "honest mistake." They paid me $500 for their "mistake" which falls well short of the value that I paid. I feel completely taken advantage. Very disappointed and will never go back read more

I have had extreme difficulty in getting my 2007 Ford Escape repaired properly the first time. This dealership does not respond quickly to customers. I have had to call and ask if my vehicle is ready to find has been ready for pick-up. They cannot get my engine parts in timely manner and I've waited a week for parts & repair work to be done. They have had my car 11 days now with more work needed. I keep the maintenance up and only use Dealership service for the warranty, but I miss my car! I had left several messages for the manager but he failed to return a call. I finally caught him at the dealership spoke to him on the phone about the customer service report I filed with Ford Motor Company. Manager agrees that there should be some form of information given to inform customer of the dealer tax they do not pay. He says they will correct this in the future. They have done nothing to try and keep my business except tell me they will give my son a good deal on a new vehicle. A cash purchase on a new 2018 Ford meant nothing to them. read more

TERRIBLE customer service. I went to look at 2 cars, the first one I looked at they talked up and when I went over to the car and opened the door it STUNK of cigarette smoke. I said to Krystal "this car stinks of cigarettes" to which she replied "I couldn't say that but yes you're right, a smoker got rid of it because he quit smoking and the dealership doesn't want to pay for the complicated cleaning" The other car I looked at was too dinged up. I've tried to follow up with them after the fact about getting the smoke car cleaned as I was willing to consider if they got the appropriate cleaning but after 3 emails, Krystal or Crystal never responded to me. Then today I get some generic email from them from her asking if they can assist me further "in my search for a n/a" you can't even take the time to fill out the email after not answering me?! I went elsewhere. Not worth the drive and a tiny dealership with no standards. read more

The most ABSURD LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM I've ever experienced, in a car dealership. I've brought up four children, and have always purchased the safest, most roadworthy, and reliable vehicles. Now, I'm finally able to pursue one of my Child-Free Goals: I'll be traveling across the U.S., probably more than once. An ad for Berkeley allowed me to contact the dealership, to ensure the vehicle I wanted was still available. A salesperson responded immediately, to say yes -- and, he said, he'd let me know, if the SUV was sold, before I made the trip out there. But no. When I arrived, the salesperson greeted me, at my car, and told me the vehicle in which I was interested had been sold, that day. That's effectively a bait and switch tactic, but this guy didn't seem experienced enough to even manage that. He led me to his office, where he asked, "How do you want to proceed?" I reminded him that, as the customer, I had no knowledge of their operation, so I was not the person to say what to do next; he was. At that point, he left me, for a long period of time. I'll say, as a pertinent aside, the entire room smelled of urine. Seriously. After my wait, the salesperson returned further confused, as he didn't know what next to show me. I remained very kind with him: he seemed new, nervous, and a genuinely nice person. He just couldn't seem to meet his job requirements. I agreed to test drive a vehicle I didn't actually want, but first I had to stand out, in the cold and rain, while he ignored my insistence I really do know how all the power buttons work, and continued to show me Every One. I didn't want that vehicle. Ultimately, the salesperson had me walk the entirety of the lot -- still, in the cold and rain -- until I noticed an SUV in which I might be interested. He then had to run back to the office, for the keys. Fine. After opening the car, however, we realized nothing worked, because the battery was dead. He could not, however, locate the battery, under the hood. While he was searching the back of the SUV, my friend let him know the battery was in the engine, as expected. So, he ran again to the office, for cables and a generator. The battery wouldn't hold a charge: it was completely dead. Our summary conversation ended with him telling me that, while the shop was closed, at that time, he'd have the battery fixed, today. Then he'd text me, so I could prepare for him to bring the vehicle to my home, and drive back to the dealership. He never texted. Never called. I was willing to pay good money, for that SUV. Any further contact from Berkeley, however, will receive no more than a brief sentence of disappointment, from me. I wouldn't return there, for any reason. read more

We needed to add a service vehicle to our company "Fleet". We knew exactly what we wanted and had no need to drive around town researching pricing when I could just do it from my desk, utilizing the internet. I called several dealerships (who we had used in the past) two of which did not even return my phone calls-both were called repeatedly. I called Berkeley Ford and spoke with Jerry Bradley, not only was he was helpful-he went above and beyond to help me buy a Transit Connect-sight unseen! He was attentive and called me back when he said he would, he did exactly what he said he would do through the entire process. Let me say-pricing is pretty close to the same around town for vehicles, what Berkeley Ford sold me was "service", service I did not receive from the big dealers. Our next Connect will be purchased from Jerry at Berkeley. read more

I had my 2013 Focus towed in early Thursday morning. By lunch, it was diagnosed as needing a radiator. I was told it was ordered and the car would be ready by Friday. Friday afternoon, I called to find out it was not ready but was promised it would be ready by Monday but possibly by Saturday. Monday afternoon, I called to see if it was ready because I was supposed to return my rental car. It was not. Tuesday afternoon, I called to find out it would be ready right at closing. I was told my car was being detailed. It was not - it was washed and vacuumed. (Why was I the one who had to call repeatedly?) There was also an air freshener spray applied that messed up my asthma. I asked at checkout why it took 1.9 labor hours to repair my car but I could not get it until Wednesday morning (since I could not be there at 6 on Tuesday) - which meant it was at the dealership for a week. The lady told me that she would check into it and would let me know what she found out. I told her I would like feedback because I was very disappointed and do not feel I was valued as a customer. I did not hear from her. I do not want to come back to your dealership. I would love some feedback, especially since it cost me $76 for insurance on my rental car for my car being in the shop for a week - when it was only 1.9 labor hours. read more

I run a business that requires the vehicle to be in the road daily. The service department understood this. They needed to order pats for a required recall so they scheduled me for this past Thursday and told me they would need about three days to do the work on the recall and an issue with the Pinion. Today, Tuesday I call to get the status of the vehicle. They tell me it just got in the shop and they need to order the parts for the recall. Don't use them they are very poorly run. I can understand that people make mistakes but they could have called Thursday and told me so I could get the vehicle on the road until they had the parts. I am still trying to get with the General Manager but he seams to be always out of the office. read more

On our way from Boston to Florida our car was totaled in NC. We rented a car and drove to our daughters' home in Charleston and stayed for 10 days while things got resolved with the insurance company. I saw a a desireable car online at a fair price and called Berkley. Crystal was our rep there and she did a fantastic job helping us get the car and set us up with temporary plates too. Everyone we met there was very helpful. Crystal called a week later to check that we were OK and that he car preformed well on the 8 hour drive. It took a leap of faith to buy a used car from an out of state dealer. Berkley ROCKS read more

Waited 1.5 hours for an estimate. Given the run around by the service manager Kent. Owner told him what to do and he left instead. No one said anything as I stood waiting for another 20 minutes. I recently brought my car in for service to Berkeley Ford. I wanted to give a great big THANK YOU to Kassidy Johnson, Service Advisor. Her level of customer service was above & beyond exceptional!!!!! She is such an asset to the company! I originally called Summerville Ford 1st because that's where I purchased my car -- after several phone calls to them, I was unable to even speak w/anyone in the service area. They took my contact info & never called me back which was very disappointing. Plus, it was going to be several days before they could even look at my car to diagnosis the problem. The 1st time I called Berkeley Ford, I spoke with Kassidy and she was such a comfort & help from the moment I spoke to her. She followed back up with me promptly and was just a great person to deal with. They looked at my car the same afternoon I got it there, and she called me back that day to inform me of the issue. From someone that works in a service industry, Kassidy DEFINITELY provided a "WOW" CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE for me from Berkeley Ford!!!! I would highly recommend them for service and speediness. read more

I purchased a one year used F-150 from this dealership in January. Initially, I was pleased with the service, even though when I got home from the dealership the internet price listed for the truck that I just purchased was way lower than where we started negotiations, but that's not even the worst of the service. Included in the closing of our transaction was a "we owe" guarantee from the salesman for a touch up paint job followed by a professional detailing. I was unable to have the touch up and detailing done the day of purchase so I elected to delay this service. A few weeks later, I got the paint touched up by the technician and it looked good, but he informed he did not have enough time for the detailing and I should "wait till it gets a little dirtier anyways." Month and a half goes by and I finally have time set aside for the detailing job. I contacted my salesman directly and he told me we could do it the following day at 9:00 a.m. I show up at the specified time and he's nowhere to be found so I go straight to the detailing personnel. They informed me they didn't know what I was talking about and a sales manager told me the same thing. Salesman shows up about an hour late after the manager had called him and informed him of the situation. Of course, when he shows up he says "oh no, not with our professional detailer, we're just going to clean it up with the dealership guys." Even though I had waited as long as I have so that I could have the professional detailer perform the work. All in all what I received was a quick 30 minute "got most of the dirt" wash job and a spotty vacuum of the inside with a still very dirty windshield and bumper. Bottom line is that the salesman made an insincere guarantee that he was apparently not authorized to make. The two hours I wasted here would have been much better served paying $10 for a better car wash and stayed at home. Absolute worst vehicle buying experience I've ever had and I'm glad I'll never be doing business with them again. read more

Brought my truck in for a differential fluid change, transmission service, cooler line replacement for power steering and brake adjustment. Received truck back and the back brake drum was adjusted to tight so it smoked one of the rear drums. Since I had one problem I started looking at all the other repairs. The transmission was given a flush not a service (replace gasket & filter), power steering fluid was low and they charged me $85 because I originally asked them to look it over for me but when I agreed to do the repairs the $85 was still left on my bill. I called back to talk to service manager he was very apologetic and told me to bring it back so they can fix the problems. Received truck back a second time but it was not any better than the first time. I noticed fluid on the transmission pan after further inspection 16 out of 20 bolts were loose and 3 out of the 16 were finger loose, I torqued all the bolts and added a 1/2 quart of transmission fluid. The differential filler plug was loose and 5 of the differential bolts but it did have enough fluid. I still had to add fluid to the power steering pump. The truck does stop but it kind of glides to a stop. The service manager can say whatever he wants but he is not the one doing the work and if you have bad mechanics you get a poor quality repair job. I personally will never bring my car to or purchase anything from Berkeley Ford again. read more
