Purchased 2020 explorer on 09/13/24. On 10/09/24 ( 26 days )the dash lit up power train warnings. I called the service depart.on 10/10/24 and was told the earliest appt. was 12/6/24 but if I could drop it off but may take 2 days to a week. I started at 3 stars because in my mind a used car or not if you just purchased it and have an issue like that it should become a top priority. I also purchased the 100,000 mile warranty and was told you just pay $100 for repairs. You would think being less than 30 days that the dealership would just fix it. I will update after I see how long this takes and if they try the old it's not covered excuse. Everyone has been friendly and helpful so far. Fingers crossed cause I've seen some not so good reviews. I did want to add that the salesman Matt was great. He took time with me. Update 10/14/24. Issue was diagnosed. I was told the parts and labor would be $5200 ( which is ridiculously overpriced ) but they were calling the warranty I bought. We will see what happens. Update 10/17/24. Still have not heard anything. Update 10/18/24. Chris called back and said they were waiting on the warranty company to have an inspector verify the job on Teusday which I did verify with the warranty . I will update after the inspection. 10/24/24 - update. Liberty Shield warranty is an absolute joke. Today I was Informed that the warranty would only cover $490.00 which won't even cover the cost of the parts and I would have to pay $2250. I had less than 30 days and that warranty was $4k. Called my salesman and the sales manager and owner are now involved. Will update after tomorrow but now I'm irritated. 10/25/24 - met with sales manager and salesman and worked something out. I pay my $100 deductible. Awaiting 3 parts not in stock and are supposed to arrive on Teusday and they will call. 10/28/24 - I would like to say the sales team has been pretty good. However the service department is seriously lacking. They had the car for 15 days, diagnosed after 2 and the car was untouched and I had to escalate to the sales team to get any traction. The worst part is during that 15 days they never bothered to make sure that they had all the parts knowing that this had to be fixed. The last 3 parts are supposed to be in tomorrow 10/29/24. We will see going on day 20. 10/29/24 - End of day 20 no communication at all. The car is still sitting in the same spot it's been at for about 15 days. 10/30/24 - Day 21 I spoke with the service dept. and was told all parts in and it's next to be worked on and should be done by early next week. Next Wednesday will still be 28 days for a car I drove for 26 days which makes it impossible for me to recommend this dealership. I do not wish this much stress on my worst enemy. Hoping to have my car back by next week but I will never go back to this dealership and i will steer people I know away from here. 11/2/24 - car still untouched 11/4/24 - Chris called and said they spoke with Adam and planned to have it done Friday. ( what happened to early this week? ) sounds like another stall tactic but we will see. My patience is running out. Worst car experience of my life.

Took it here for an oil change and tire rotation. Next day the car is leaking dirty oil.

These people are con artists. They gave us a coupon for $75 when my wife got there they charged her $150 for "labor and fees". She says this place takes advantage of women. The next day, the car is leaking dirty oil all over our brand new garage. We take it to another mechanic and it turns out Berkeley Ford NEVER EVEN CHANGED THE OIL OR THE OIL FILTER OR ROTATED THE TIRES AFTER CHARGING US DOUBLE PRICE. The fact that the oil leak was old oil shows they never drained the old and put new oil in. I checked the oil dip stick and the oil is still low and filled with old oil. I can do a better job myself. We should have known better than to take the car to the dealership for work on it but the coupon seemed like a good deal--wrong. These people belong in jail for what they are doing to their customers. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.

My husband is a FORD MAN!!! He Truly believes in this brand. After, our beloved SWEETPEA. The 2003 Ford Explore decided to go on a long vacation. My husband told me we were getting an Ford Escape. He purchased a Ford Escape. The process was smooth. No pushing salesman or outrageous prices, either. The new location is beautiful and modern. I miss the comfort couch at the old location. Everyone is smiling and professional.

Fabulous locally owned dealership! The owner , Louie Abidi, truly cares about his customers!!! The owner and his staff are carrying on a great tradition of automobile dealership excellence! Go see BERKELEY Ford in MONCKS Corner for your next vehicle purchase. And soon there will be a new and fresh dealership opening up on the corner of Hwy 52 and Cypress Gardens Rd!! You won't be disappointed!!!

I did not give them my business, lowballed me and asked for dealer markup. I can't support a business that treats you like trash.

Do not recommend purchasing from this location with their advertised price not being represented correctly on their listings, with "dealer installed items" being added to the price of the vehicle but not outlined on the purchase agreement. Bought a "new" old stock 2023 Grand Cherokee L in January. Unable to take delivery of it that same day due to a battery tester being down and would have to come back Monday to pick it up. I was not able to go pick the vehicle up with my wife, but she called me on the way home and told me something didn't feel right with the vehicle. It has been nothing but issues ever since we took delivery of the vehicle, it has now been out of service 45+ days. We could tell right away this vehicle was plagued with issues and asked them to take the vehicle back and give us back our perfectly good Mazda that had 0 issues. Of course they declined, and wouldn't you know it, look what they advertise: the advantage plan. Photo attached Apparently good business practices with customer satisfaction are not at the top of their list, otherwise they would have done the right thing from the very beginning. Will absolutely not recommend anyone to purchase a vehicle here. The service department has been absolutely amazing though, trying to fix this vehicle is not their fault, it had no business making it to the front line and being sold. It is a lemon. Blair in service is fantastic and has been in constant communication with me. Abigale, our sales person was also great, but working in a department that lacks ethics and integrity.

The employee that helped me that day agreed with me on a price of a 2001 pontiac grand am. The employee also told me that I was allowed to take the vehicle to a mechanic to get it checked out. It was near closing and I told him I would be back the next morning to take it to AAA. It was all great and I felt comfortable until the next day. That next afternoon the head owner was there and was very short and rude with me. He told me that the employee I spoke with the pervious day was new and did not know what he was talking about. So I did not get to take the car to my mechanic and the head owner tried to pull the price up by another $500. He said that I was only able to drive it down the street. I also asked for the Carfax and he said they didn't have that but that he would have someone send him a paper statement of the cars history (which never came). I basically had to argue with him to at least let me go to the Autozone near HWY 52 to do the system check they do. Autozome was first shocked by how clean the engine was so that drew a red flag. Also there was a problem with the check engine light, Autozone said that those repairs were not that bad and that I could wait a while until I needed them repaired. I took the benefit of the doubt and went back to purchase this vehicle. I paid around 2900 for the vehicle. Later to find out it was a piece of scrap metal. Also the process to get the title and plates was a nightmare. I am not sure if the owner forgot about doing his job or if he was lazy. He said that my plates and title would be in the mail around 2 weeks. I called 2 weeks, 3 weeks, and finally over a month went by without my plates or title. I finally went back to this company and demanded my money back for the title and plates and went to the DMV to do it myself. I was furious!!!! Since the purchase in March I have put in over $1500 in repairs. I replaced all tires which were bare ($400), had to get a tune up and fix my oxygen sensor problem-spark plugs replaced-coolant exchange-3step fuel system clean... which was over ($800), both front window motors ($50), The suspension rod was broken and needed to get it aligned ($300), headlights and windshield wipers ($40), and the shocks on the rear replaced ($100 for the pair). This has been the biggest mistake I have made buying a car and I would love to help prevent everyone else from making that same mistake. Again I hated this place and it is a scam! Don't buy from Universal motors!

I drove 30+ minutes to come look at a car after calling ahead to say I was on my way. When I arrived the woman running the office locked the door and said, "I have to run to the bank, someone will be here in 10 minutes." I waited around 30 minutes before calling the number she left posted on the window, which she again answered. "Someone will be there in 10 minutes." I told her I'd already been waiting for 30 minutes (after I called ahead to say I was on my way). Her response: "Sorry, we're a small dealership. You can wait or you can come back later." All of this was after I called and couldn't get any information from this woman over the phone about the car before I drove out. Kinda seemed like she couldn't care less about making my sale, as I had intended to buy with cash on site. Will not be shopping with them again. UPDATE 5/26: So I called about the car again (used mid-00s Range Rover) - the woman on the phone, again, couldn't tell me anything about the car, told me they have no service records, told me they haven't run a CarFax on the vehicle and told me they wouldn't let me take the car to a mechanic of my choosing. When I asked why this was, she said, "well, they might try to sell you another car." So I'm just supposed to take your word, or the word of whatever mechanic you're in cahoots with, and give you thousands of dollars of my money for a vehicle you can tell me virtually nothing about? Right. Bye.
