I usually don't write reviews...but there is no way I can keep quiet. I had my eye exam at another Berkeley location. I could not find frames there as the selection was limited. when I showed up at the El Campo office.. Maria worked diligently to help me find a suitable pair. When she was processing the cost with my insurance...some questions arose. Maria had to attemp 3 times to make contact with the insurance company. It was learned that coverage would be minimal to none since frames were not purchased at the location I had the eye exam. Maria went straight back to the women who handles claims and insurance and to find out what is going on. I figured it would be bad news.. my concern now was paying the total eye exam myself and forfeit glasses completely. Maria was gone for a while. when she returned...she had the best news ever. I really appreciated the staff for hanging in there... postponing their lunch times in order to help me with all my insurance woes. I can't say enough how Berkeley Eye Center not only takes care of us individually but also as a community. I am forever grateful for all their care and help! read more

I'm a newbie to Berkeley Eye Center in El Campo...I came, in search of a great tech, Linda Kumaga, who has taken incredible care of my family for years! My contact prescription got very complicated (with my aging) and she never ..ever gave up on trying to fit me....(I gave up)! She is super... with my glasses and sunglasses, also. From helping me make the hard decisions of which ones to adjusting them to my sensitive head and nose! She has always been available and above and beyond the call of duty. ( She has even stopped by my office, when I couldn't make it in during her working hours, to adjust my glasses!) Berkeley Eye Centers in Wharton County are going to feel the blessings of this hard working gal! I am thankful to be a new patient there! THEY HAVE A GREAT SELECTION OF GLASSES TO CHOOSE FROM...without all the baiting and switching promos that the "others" advertise! El Campo Berkeley Eye Center is a much needed asset to this small community! read more

Maria and Olga in the fitting department, wow, I can't say enough go about them. They are the most amazing team and veTy knowledgeable about what they do. Always patienot with the customer. Also, I would like to mention a lady that helps booking cataract surgeries named Alma. She makes lining up the surgeries a breeze for the patient. Thank you Alma!! Last but not least, Dr Carl Ermis. Excellent! Berkeley Eye Center in El Campo is excellent all around. From the facility, to the doctors, to the staff, to the shop, all of it! My wife, daughter, and I will drive the extra hour to exclusively take advantage of this facility from our larger hometown because of how well they take care of everyone. All three of us had appointments, and we were in and out with exams and glasses ordered in under 2 hours - and that's awesome and typical for this place. We also left with smiles on our faces having been taken very good care of throughout the entire process. I would definitely recommend this site to anyone! read more

I went to see Dr Karl Ermis for my year cataract appointment. In June I was diagnosed with Ramsey- Hunt Syndrome & i can't close my right eye so at night I have to tape it shut. I told Dr Ermis how painful it is at times. After the examination he explained what was happening to my cornea & prescribed medication. In 3 days the eye was much better & the pain had ceased. Maria was very helpful, kind & patient while helping me find the frames for my glasses. Maria knew I wasn't feeling well & she took her time helping me!! read more

Just went here today and the ladies up front and Linnie and Dr Ermis were great! I would definitely recommend coming here instead of having to brave the traffic to travel somewhere in the Houston area. Amanda on the optical side was also extremely helpful in explaining my insurance benefits to me and what was and wasn't covered. Great place with a real hometown feel! :) read more

I was really anxious about picking out a new pair of glasses. I had been putting it off since November. There are just soooo many to choose from and I am terrible at decision making. Very attentive staff. Wait time is not bad usually. I had additional questions that the assistant to the doctor answered. I did not feel like I had to have a specific procedure done. The section was up to me based on the information provided with my questions. read more
