I went there for simple bloodwork and it was a huge project. In the end, I was not able to make an important appointment with my other doctor because the office ignored my request to forward some records. I was told that someone from the office would get in contact with me to discuss my concerns and nobody ever called. I was blatantly ignored and will not be going back, I will also spread the word to family and friends to steer clear.

The office is conveniently located right by the 6 train and although the waiting room is small and a little loud (you're seated right across from the receptionists), I've never waited more than 10 minutes for an appointment and I'm always out of the office in about 30-40 min. Dr. Amsterdam always delivers my blood test results within a few days via an online patient portal and also communicates with patients directly via the portal so you can login and ask her questions without having to call the office. She's also helpful with referrals--actually calling me herself to provide me with the names and numbers of specialists to see. I highly recommend her if you need a new primary care physician!

My experience was horrible! They all have no hospitality there. I went due to shortness of breath…read moreand other symptoms. I've had asthma since I was 5 yrs old and I told them the asthma medicine I have. They didn't believe me, so they made me do a rigorous breathing test where they give you doses of a drug (metacholide) that will induce asthma symptoms causing your lung function to drop by at least 20% if you have it. I started choking for air. I couldn't breathe. I felt sudden panic because I could barely breathe and was scared I would die or pass out. It was horrible. There were tears in my eyes and the nurse knew I was in need of help so she gave the antidote, but she was not comforting at all. She didn't say a word. The antidote is a drug that makes you jittery so that plus the fear of almost dying from lack of oxygen left me feeling very distraught, dizzy, and emotional. I paid $1,000 for them to treat me like **** and give me a rigorous test that I didn't need and put me in a dangerous asthma attack all because they didn't believe my history of asthma. I left traumatized crying in fear/anger and I am not one to cry easily, especially in public. They were mean and unprofessional. I've never experienced this kind of cruel treatment. I felt like a lab rat getting tested on rather than a patient they care about. Don't believe the good reviews. The nurses are evil and the doctor doesn't want to hear what you have to say and will make you feel stupid. He will not thoroughly answer your questions at all. They threw the inhaler on the table and said this is what you should take, but they didn't tell me how often to take it or any helpful instructions like my other doctors have. They don't care about your health. Trust me, save your time and money and go somewhere where you are valued and given compassionate care. Don't go somewhere where they will make your symptoms worse and make you fear you'll need an ambulance. You want to leave feeling better not worse.

I was prediabetic and she referred me to a nutritionist who helped me with my diet and when I had my next A1C / it came back normal. One of the things I really love about her is she listens when I talk to her about my health issues and she makes recommendations. I chose this practice because it was close to my home and Dr Ylonka was in-network of my insurance. Upon arriving at the practice, the staff promptly took my insurance info and charged $15 for the copay. I paid with my credit card. During the consultation with Dr. Ylonka, she suggested that I do an annual physical exam. She looked some things up on her computer and confidently said, "GHI (my insurance company) covers the annual physical exams. If you do it today, you don't even have to pay the copay. My staff will refund you the copay on your way out." Huge mistake for not double checking with my insurance company that the physical is indeed covered in my insurance, and the most expensive one I've made in my life. On my way out, the staff cancelled my earlier payment of $15. By this action, it was clear that they were sure that the staff thought my insurance was coverkng the physical exam in full, unless they already knew it wasn't covered and wanted to sham their new patient. The $15 was credited back to my account 3 days later, of which I have the record. Two months later, I get a bill from Dr. Ylonka's practice of $250, the steepest price tag I've heard for an annual physical exam. I called them to inquire of it, I simply get the the same line: "Our record indicates that you came in wanting a physical and therefore it is your sole responsibility that you came in with a full knowledge of physical exam coverages of your insurance. Therefore, we are not at fault." No. No matter how many times I tell them to stop lying (I did not schedule a physical. The doctor suggested performing the physical by misleadingly telling me that it is fully covered by my insurance) and explain the record of the copay being credited back, they do not have an answer. They simply read the line again... "Our record shows that..." Your record can say anything you like but wouldn't mean much since it doesn't explain the cancellation of the copay. Shame on them. I really hope the doctor does not do this knowingly and regularly to read off from patients. Shameful for bold face lying of the staffs. Also, it took them more than a week to come up with that "Our record..." line. Before they came up, their previous line was "we will call you back when we find out tomorrow." They never called me back. I always had to call to inquire. On the phone with the practice yesterday, the staff did mention that the doctor "sometimes gets confused" of what is covered by insurances or not. I asked back if that is a good enough excuse to first tell all patients that everything is covered and then later charge all. Of course, there came the expected line: "Our record shows that..."

I went to him about 10 years ago for my first colonoscopy after three years after that I decided to go to another doctor and I don't know why I did that because I end up returning back to Dr. Siegel and he perform my colonoscopy today and thank God everything is OK but most of all I left the hospital feeling no grogginess no pain just in good humor and very fortunate that everything came out fine. and of course I also have to thank Christ Hospital my favorite Hospital.

Once he is in the office with you he takes his time to answer all your questions and make sure you are completely informed of your health. Any reservations or concerns I have when I walk in are addressed completely by the time I walk out of his office doors. Not only that but he also has several specialists that come into the office throughout the week to accommodate your schedule. His staff for the most part is very helpful and friendly, and even offers an on site lab to help expedite your care. The only reason I only gave four stars is because of the wait time in the office. Though I understand that he spends a significant amount of time with you once you are in the room. Expect to be in the office for a few hours.
