We replaced our 32-year old system last month. Lewis Air came to offer a quote. I liked the person…read morethat came by. He seems transparent but low pressure. He checked our current system and provided the data and a clear explanation of how the freon was likely leaking. Our splits were about 9-10, which means the cool air coming out of the vent is only an average of 10 degrees cooler than the house temp. This is pretty inefficient and why I've been spending so much money on electricity (and I have solar). Anyway, we decided to move forward with one of the 3 quotes provided. We went with a variable a/c unit because it can choose to work less during times when it's not super hot. So far we've tested it on some warm nights and it cools the house faster. We used to have to set the thermostat to 67 and have the a/c work full time to get our bedroom to a cool level. Now, if we set it at 71-72, our room is already cool pretty fast. We'll see how it does this summer, but already it's obvious that this system will cool our home faster and without working so hard. Anyway, the overall experience with Lewis Air was positive and I'd recommend them to all.

The first quoted me an absolutely ridiculous price that would have cost an arm and a leg. The second guy offered to do it for cheap but he couldn't figure out the issue so he just disappeared and never showed up. Kevin and Milo came in and had to clean up the mess left by the previous contractor, then thoroughly tested all the zoning, dampers, and zoning board to actually diagnose what was going on. Not only did they figure out the real issue, they fixed everything completely and at a very fair price. On top of that, Kevin noticed my thermostat wasn't functioning properly and replaced it on the spot, explaining exactly why it was causing problems. Kevin is extremely knowledgeable and clearly knows this stuff inside and out, but what I really appreciated was how he explained everything in a way that actually made sense. No pressure, no sales pitch -- just honest options, estimated costs, and pros and cons for each path forward. And a huge cherry on top: they cleaned up extremely well afterward. Given the mess that had been left behind before, this really stood out to me. Everything was left neat and organized, and they made sure the area looked better than when they arrived.
