The second time there was about a 10 minute wait which worked out great because I ended up discovering Baja's Awesome Beach Rides about a block away and booked a horseback ride on the beach for the following morning. The people there were very welcoming and service was excellent. The place was clean and orderly. Tables weren't too close to one another and the bathrooms were nice and clean which is a big plus in my book, I got a kick out of the large sign on the wall with funny phrases on it. It gave me a chuckle when I read, "Bill Gates never eats here" with the word never printed very, very small. And, "Two beer or not two beer" with the author noted as William Shakesbeer. I tried their coconut shrimp as well as some of their sushi rolls and it all was fresh and delicious. The second time we were there we brought some fish we had caught earlier in the day and they prepared it for us. Of course that wasn't the only thing we ordered but it was great to walk in with fish and let them prepare it for us. Timing was perfect on everything. From ordering drinks, to the main course, and dessert, everything was brought out just when expected. I was never having to search out a server. They seemed to be right there when I needed anything. Very attentive. For desert I ordered flan, which I prefer on the firm side. It was just as firm as I had hoped and had a hint more cinnamon than most which I really liked. We also had some of Pedro's homemade ice cream. It was a creamy and delicious treat. I give them 5 stars because they were friendly, attentive, served good food, had nice ambiance and, most important, were clean and organized. If I am blessed enough to return to Los Barriles I will visit La Casita again.

They let you valet for free if you eat at the restaurant. I ordered the grilled octopus with chorizo and pesto and I really enjoyed it. Lots of flavor and a good combination of things. You get 2 tentacles. My partner got the catch of the day with black beans and garlic sauce and an avocado and tomatillo salad. The fish today was amber jack. His dish was a little sour and not as much flavor but he still liked it. He also got a Chardonnay. There were only 2 types of whites to choose from by the glass and they were Mexican wines. The first time, our group of four sat outside in the courtyard, which was so cute and had a great atmosphere. Their mezcal selection is incredible--everything from Espadín to Tobalá to Madrecuishe. We were so excited to see mezcal from one of our favorite places in Oaxaca on the menu! The server was super fun and kept the good vibes going the whole night. We ended up staying for two hours (and even canceled our dinner reservation somewhere else) because we were having such a great time. The food was amazing--we shared tamales and chicharrón, which paired perfectly with the mezcal. The courtyard was amazing, the music was awesome and it was just such a fun scene. A few days later, we went back and sat inside, which was just as great. We ended up chatting with the table next to us and loved being able to try so many different mezcals while learning about each one. That's what I love most about a good mezcalería--the chance to taste, learn, and truly enjoy the experience. La Miserable has everything: a killer mezcal selection, a welcoming vibe, and great food. Beautiful view of the inviting ocean.. Our servers were on it, but waited a bit longer for the beer because they serve it from next door on a rope pulley. We had chips which were hard and baked, guac was good and salsa, when you see it, it's dark green and hot for me, my guy loved it. The beer I ordered was Azul-Blonde ale , refreshing and warmed quickly. My guy had an IPA- Baby, he said it was citrusy but not too bitter for an IPA, not as strong as a 6%, more of a 4.5. Not too good of a craft beer for us. Stopped in for the 1, on to the Blue Fin up the street.
