Beet salad.

It was serendipity that brought us to Chez Laura. We went here after another Yelp place a couple of blocks away we tried for was closed for the night (hours posted on Yelp were either out of date or incorrect). We originally were going for tacos poblano and never expected to eat fine French cuisine for dinner. BEST. MISTAKE. EVER! First, the place is so inviting with its cute lights outside. Second, the hosts immediately greeted us and got us seated right away. The menu itself was not familiar to us since we don't normally dine at French restaurant. We were a party of 8 so we intentionally got different meals so we could sample a bite of each other's food. OMG! Everything we had was amazing. I usually don't like duck, but someone got that and we all seemed to agree that was the most delicious duck we've had. I would get that if I ever am there again. I got the open ravioli filled with ratatouille. My kids watch the movie Ratatouille all the time so I had to get it. Delish!! I'd recommend it for sure! My hubby got the pork-- also very good. One of our friends got the fish-- very tasty. We shared the tart with bacon-- looked like a big and very thin pizza. I was reluctant because it has onions and that's not my favorite, but the onions were light and well cooked so I enjoyed it as did the kids. We sampled the desserts as well. All were superb. The dessert of the day was chocolate soufflé with truffle ice cream. The soufflé was light and fluffy as it should be. I never had truffle ice cream-- very good especially if you're a truffle fan.

I think this is one of Todo Santos gems for sure. The place is very secluded, you feel like you are in an oasis. The service is impeccable, food first class. Everything was beautifully presented, and delicious. We will be back, for sure! The price was very reasonable for the quality!

Amazing fish.

Superb meal. Friendly service, though perhaps not as attentive as it could have been. Beautiful atmosphere. Overall a wonderful restaurant

Wait, can you spell that?!". We tried not to play along and smiled politely. - I asked him a couple questions about the wines and then again he asked where we were really from ( he sensed an accent ). I said "We're actually born in Colombia" and then he went on again: "Oh man! Thank God!! You had me worried there I actually thought you were Canadian!!" - At that point I said "Thanks for your help" and then started walking out when he turned to me and said: "Wait a minute, are you actually not going to buy anything? Are you THAT cheap? Dude!! You just realized your fucking Canadian stereotype!!" We felt so insulted .... I'm not at all surprised to read other reviews here saying he tends his shop drunk and regularly insults Canadian tourists. Just absolutely terrible.

The second time there was about a 10 minute wait which worked out great because I ended up discovering Baja's Awesome Beach Rides about a block away and booked a horseback ride on the beach for the following morning. The people there were very welcoming and service was excellent. The place was clean and orderly. Tables weren't too close to one another and the bathrooms were nice and clean which is a big plus in my book, I got a kick out of the large sign on the wall with funny phrases on it. It gave me a chuckle when I read, "Bill Gates never eats here" with the word never printed very, very small. And, "Two beer or not two beer" with the author noted as William Shakesbeer. I tried their coconut shrimp as well as some of their sushi rolls and it all was fresh and delicious. The second time we were there we brought some fish we had caught earlier in the day and they prepared it for us. Of course that wasn't the only thing we ordered but it was great to walk in with fish and let them prepare it for us. Timing was perfect on everything. From ordering drinks, to the main course, and dessert, everything was brought out just when expected. I was never having to search out a server. They seemed to be right there when I needed anything. Very attentive. For desert I ordered flan, which I prefer on the firm side. It was just as firm as I had hoped and had a hint more cinnamon than most which I really liked. We also had some of Pedro's homemade ice cream. It was a creamy and delicious treat. I give them 5 stars because they were friendly, attentive, served good food, had nice ambiance and, most important, were clean and organized. If I am blessed enough to return to Los Barriles I will visit La Casita again.

We first heard about this restaurant in June & went for my friend's bday. We had wonderful service & the chef is 5 stars!! Needless to say when we came here in October for my birthday we had to make my special dinner there. They did not disappoint!! The chef sent out a special appetizer on the house and after our fantastic dinner, the bar tender put on a special presentation with fire and a tower of glasses and served us a hot shot! Over the top!!! If you are looking for a place to have a great dinner for a special occasion or just because you want to experience the perfection of Desierto Azul, I highly recommend it.
