This is also another review on watches. This one was bought during my trip to Venice, where they're…read morefamous for their Murano glass, and you can easily buy these Millefiori Watches With Leather Band, as tourists attraction. In other words, they're everywhere in Venice! That was 7 years ago, and I'm still loving & wearing this watch. Last night, I polished it so I can wear it during St. Patrick's Day, and the battery is still works . . . and all through March or when my outfit calls for anything in Green! I bought the green band, it was a hard decision, because I LOVE them all, and I wasn't just being impulsive, I NEEDED one from Venice made of Murano and I need one yesterday. I got online, in search for the address, and guest what? I'm in Watch Heaven! With this price, I can buy a white one, a purple or lavender one, sapphire color, and I can get them shipped free! I think I better go there and go shopping right now. Tru-lo-lo!

The glassworks are extraordinary. You see the pieces being created in real time and then you wander the store. There's no hard sell but, hey, you just got a free ride and a lovely show. On a personal note, I fell in love with a piece. It's the most beautiful art I've ever purchased. Any subsequent questions or help I've needed, they've been extremely responsive. Even had I not found anything I loved, I would have bought something small and found it well worth the price of adventure.

My sister and I were on a mission to only visit stores listed on the murano vetro artistico list,…read morewhich is basically a list of real murano glass makers (a lot of what you see in Venice for example is produced in China). We happened to wander in the direction of Alessandro Mandruzzato. It is actually a bit hidden because you have to go down a corridor that opens into a small courtyard with various showrooms of glass makers. The store actually has glassware made by a husband and wife team; it consists of housewares eg. Vases, jewellery boxes, lamps, etc created by the husband and jewellery made by the wife. The wife, Jany, was in the store when we visited and she was very friendly and helpful. She explained to us that only 47 families are certified glass makers of the murano tradition and that the red and blue stamps that verify true murano glass indicate the temperature used to produce the product. I ended up purchasing a bracelet and some earrings, which Jane wrapped very nicely -- they definitely use high end packaging. She also informed us that she does custom work, something I would definitely utilise for a special occasion like a wedding. I highly recommend visiting this shop for its unique pieces, which are quite pretty. Also, being able to meet the artist really adds to the the whole experience!

We are so happy that this studio was our first stop on the island. Jany (Alessandro's wife) was so…read morewelcoming and took the time to tell us about the history of the Murano artists and the generations of glass making in her family. She tells everyone about the history and the importance of shopping at studios that have the Vetro Artistico® Murano label on their goods or displayed in the store. She then encouraged us to walk around the island and shop around. We returned after strolling around for a few hours because there just weren't any other studios that could match the quality and the personalized service. She even switched out the silver for gold beads in some earrings upon request. We bought 6 pieces and she gave us certificates of authenticity for each and contact information if we have questions or would like customized pieces in the future. While we were there, a German couple was returning to pick up a custom vase and they were able to see them do a final polish via live feed from the studio in the back. I would definitely recommend this studio to anyone shopping for authentic items. Not just the so called "Made in Murano" which is actually made in a factory somewhere in India or China (ever wonder why those items are so cheap?) but handmade by a certified Murano artist. They take their craft very seriously and it needs to be supported to ensure these skills survive future generations. I wish I could provide pictures but to protect their art, pictures are prohibited, of course.

Start off by saying most of the art and exhibits were pretty cool not all of it was to my taste,…read morebut I'm sure somebody liked some of it. One star rating is because one of the art babysitter at one of the exhibits decided it was appropriate to scream at me from only 3 m away. Because I stuck my head through a hole in the blinds to look out the window. The hole was already there, and I was not touching the art. And frankly, the view through the hole of Venice was much better than any of the shitty modern art they had on display. Most of the art babysitters use their indoor voices, but this one was inappropriate yelled at the top of her lungs. For some reason, she wasn't wearing the normal babysitter outfit that the rest of the babysitters, wear. And then took it upon herself to follow me throughout the installation standing only 1 m behind me breathing down my neck. Until I went to the next exhibit, quite annoying and inappropriate. The rest of the art babysitters behaved appropriate. I hope you train your art babysitters better in the future. And maybe explains why there was only a handful of people at this museum to begin with if everybody gets rubbed the wrong way when walking through the exhibits.

I have to admit that I only visited this museum in order to see Gustav Klimt's Judith II. To say…read morethe least, the painting is magnificent! It was worth ten times the price of the ticket, the time and the effort of finding this museum, and the dragging of your family across Venice to get a glimpse of Klimt's masterpiece. In general however, the museum offers a very limited collection of modern artworks. Of note are Chagall, Miró, Kandinsky, Bonnard, and omnipresent sculptures of Rodin. I can't give the museum fewer than 4 stars - the pleasure of seeing Judith would make it blasphemous!
