I visited the gallery on the 1/2 Murano and Burano tour through Viator/Dark Rome. At Murano, we were given a brief tour at a glassmakers, and then shown into the "New Murano Gallery," and told we had 30 minutes to look there or could venture out if we liked. Any of the authentic pieces cost 1000€ and up (some were over 100,000€) - for most visitors, not an investment decision you can make in 30 minutes! We were given a schpiel about there being no pressure to buy, numerous discounts, free shipping, tax-free discounts, etc. and were left to browse the gallery. I was then followed by a slimy salesman (very handsome older man - all of the men were very attractive and you could tell they were trying to use their Italian charm to make the sale!) throughout the 2-story gallery, offering me a "special price" on anything I stopped at. Everything was lovely and gorgeous in the gallery, but I felt very uncomfortable with the high-pressure sales tactics, and even more so by the fact that the tour company would ONLY take us to one gallery. I don't know what type of arrangement this gallery has with Dark Rome - I would not recommend this trip or tour company either (separate reviews for this). At least in Burano, we were given about 50 minutes to explore the island and shop freely without someone constantly breathing down our necks. The best piece of information I got is how to spot authentic Murano glass - most of the shops in Venice I looked in afterwards did not have this seal. Ones I did find seemed to be a lot less expensive than the New Murano Gallery. read more
