Sal was kind, patient, and did not pressure us to purchase. Very knowledgeable, taught us a lot of the history and heritage of Venetian glass blowing. We got to see a quick presentation of the artists making some of the bowls, plates, chandeliers, and a glass horse. That part was seriously impressive! Then we got to see the showrooms and wow. Incredible! So many rooms of some of the most beautiful glass pieces you've ever seen. The prices on most of the pieces are ridiculous. Their target audience must be millionaires and billionaires. That said, there were some somewhat affordable things we ended up buying for the memories. We got a pizza cutter for 80 euros. And my wife and her grandma, bought some earrings and a bracelet. If you go in with the mindset that you probably can't afford anything here, it will be a great experience. If there were some more affordable small pieces we would have bought many more items. I would have given them 5 stars if there were some more affordable options

But as I was watching the techniques of how they made these intricate pieces blew my mind. It was hot in there and I was sweating just watching the "master" make these different pieces of figures. Murano is known for the glass so it is a pretty cool thing to see if you're on the island. They do have pieces for purchase as a souvenir from vases, statues and necklaceI didn't buy anything because I was afraid I'd break it. Maybe next time I will when I visit again.

I initially entered the store because I was curious, but quickly was taken in by the beautiful stamps available. I ended up getting several and now that I'm back in California, I look at these items with affection (and longing to return to Venezia). They are a tangible and useful souvenir of not only my first of many visits to this grand city, but also of this quaint and charming shop. P.S. I should have purchased a couple of pre-inked stamp pads. I haven't found a suitable on that really shows off the designs here in the U.S.

Instead, come to this gallery back in the heart of Venice which is full of stunning pieces of handcrafted and signed contemporary glass. If you are lucky enough to secure an appointment for a private tour of their Murano facility (no retail sales there), it is truly an artisan glass museum! BTW be prepared, the prices at this gallery are comparatively high, but the quality of design and execution is amazing.

Know that you will need to book about 3 weeks in advance, because it seems like all the spots go pretty quickly so you much plan ahead! But it is worth it because it is a cool place! The rooftop viewing terrace is definitely worth it, what a great view of the entirety of Venice, including the Rialto Bridge which you can see well from the top. The time slots are kind of nice as it limits the number of people out there, giving enough room for getting pictures and enjoying the view. The department store itself is also really cool. An awesome space, the big central indoor area was just a cool place to take in, and if you are looking for some typical Italian clothing, or perfume they have a lot of good options for you. In the summer it is also a nice place to beat the heat! If you can, book in advance and check out this great view of Venice!

For those of us that remember the older style inner courtyard Embassy Suites, this is the retail version. Housed in a centuries old building that used to be for trade, the store is literally in the outer walls. The inner section is this vast 4 story open space with a bar/coffee shop on in the center on the ground. It is packed to the hilt with top end brands and houses and covers the gamut. Service is top notch and to be honest it is a level that makes us (clearly not 1,-2, or even 3% comfortable) almost uncomfortable with its attentiveness. I also give them massive props for not charging and having a well organized method for accessing the roof top terrace and its spectacular views (covered in another review).

The walk from the water bus station to Ellegi Glass is about 20 minutes. Beautiful scenery along the way next to the canals or waterfronts. I enjoyed the walks, and I took a lot of pictures. It is so beautiful! Ellegi Glass has a demonstration on site to show the visitors how their glass decorations are made. Very informative! They bring us to the showroom after the demonstration, and we can purchase the beautiful glass artwork. They're all head made and all one of a kind! The demonstration shows costs €5 per person. I think it is a great idea to visit the glass factory.

I have seen this process before at Disney, but seeing glass made in Murano is a while other story. First of all, the process is so fascinating. I have the deepest admiration for glass masters. According to our narrator, these people don't go to school to learn the craft, they learn from their parents, who learned from their parents. I learned a lot. The process was very well explained to us. Very informative demonstration.
