Mario Furlan and the Picasso
Anthony A.

'Omaggio a Picasso' created by Glass Master Mario Furlan. Walter Furlan - Tribute to Picasso (https://youtu.be/5HnBrsK0u_k), by Master Walter and son Mario Furlan pieces inspired by the famous Marie-Therese by Picasso, we fell in love with it. We worked with the Emanuele Silvestri to purchase and have the art shipped to our home from Italy. We have toured the gallery and have a couple of other custom made pieces. The team at New Murano are experts at packing your piece safely and securely. Your glass will arrive via international Fedex. Emanuele made sure our every need was taken care of during the process and while we were waiting for delivery. We are very happy with our purchase and will continue to do business with New Murano! After COVID is over we plan to go back to Italy and tour the gallery again. You will always find interesting colorful glass and great people!

Ordered 2 custom pendant lights in 2019 and still haven't received them or the refund. The owner insists that the refund was credited but will offer no proof of the credit, only to say it was done. All this after being told for months that they were working on them then that they weren't able to make them because of the size. Now, he responds to reviews saying I'm misleading, spam, etc. In truth, he is not an honest or ethical business man. He has our money and we have nothing for it. Beware!!!

Great gallery and one-of-a-kind pieces! We came on a water taxi with a small group arranged by our Hotel (Nani Mocenigo) and had a great experience! We learned about how glass is made from sand to some of the most beautiful glasses, chandeliers, and vases. Really cool to see the glass worked by the grandmaster. A bit sad that this gorgeous art form will likely die out of more people don't enter the apprenticeships. The gallery itself is truly impressive and the glass pieces are stunning. It's definitely pricey but we never felt any pressure to purchase anything. The woman who gave us the tour and information was wonderful and very informative. We got cold drinks as we walked around the gallery. I ended up getting some glass earrings that I absolutely love! I would definitely recommend this place-the pieces are unique and you feel like you're in a glass museum (no photos or video allowed inside though because people knock off these pieces and it's not fair to the artists).

As a tour group, we were given a free water taxi to the gallery and then back to our hotel after. Initially, I was very excited to learn all about Murano glass and the history of glass making in this country. Unfortunately, that was not the point of our tour. While we did get to see the guys blowing a couple different glass sculptures, our guide was mostly there to convince us to buy. There was no information about the history or where the tradition came from. Instead, it was one big sales pitch. Yes, the gallery/shop is absolutely beautiful. It's filled with beautiful works of art for every style of collector. But as none of us were looking to spend a couple thousand dollars, we left empty handed. I wish the gift shop had some little trinkets in an affordable range. But alas, even the small and simple jewelry was pricey.
